At first, I thought it was a scar. Even though we were close siblings, I never had a reason to see his bare chest, so I just assumed it was something I hadn't noticed before.
If such a large, red scar was left there, it might have been a serious injury. I was shocked to think I hadn't even known if my brother was hurt.
"What's this?" I grabbed Edwin's shirt and asked.
Edwin, busy wiping away tears, looked puzzled as he looked down.
On closer inspection, it seemed less like a scar and more like some kind of drawing or symbol, maybe a tattoo.
"What is this?"
Looking at the red marks filling his chest, Edwin too screamed in surprise. It made me wonder about his reaction.
"That damn bird..." he swore under his breath as he looked down at his chest.
If Edwin was swearing like that in front of me, his anger might be serious and genuine. Anyway, what was he talking about now?
"Eddy, what exactly is that? And what do you mean by 'that damn bird?'"
