Matias returned to the palace the following afternoon, but Rayton was nowhere to be seen.
Philip was the one to see him off, vaguely worried because he knew the extent of Sez’s feelings towards Rayton. He thought she might beg not to be sent away, crying like the day before. But Sez didn’t do such a thing.
“Then, we’ll head back to the mansion,” Matias said, standing in front of the carriage and looking at Philip.
Philip had been staring at Sez sitting inside the carriage.
‘What should I say? Should I tell her to take care of herself or not to worry too much?’
Philip found it hard to speak any words. In the end, it was Sez who broke the silence.
“Philip.”
“Yes, Your Royal Highness. What is it?”
“Please... take care of His Imperial Majesty…”
