Chapter 7 — I'll Only Take a Tiny Bit, Really Just a Tiny Bit!
Late at night.
Inside the residence, Naruto Uzumaki lay sprawled across his bed, breathing evenly, completely unaware that a figure had already slipped silently into his room.
The intruder stood at the foot of the bed, watching him sleep. A faint smile appeared on her lips as she moved closer, her steps light and careful, as though afraid of waking him.
Her pale gaze lingered on his face.
Slowly, she raised her hand and reached toward him…
But just before her fingers could touch him, a cold kunai pressed against her neck.
The temperature in the room seemed to drop instantly.
"What are you trying to do, Kaguya?" Uchiha Sasuke's voice rang out, low and cold.
She froze slightly, then turned around, her expression a little stiff—almost awkward.
Her night attempt had failed.
And she had been caught.
Looks like she would have to go hungry again tonight.
Yes—the figure was none other than Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.
Sasuke cast a brief glance at the still-sleeping Naruto before fixing his sharp gaze back on her. His two-tomoe Sharingan spun slowly, filled with vigilance.
"That move just now—what were you planning to do to this dead last?" Sasuke asked, his tone merciless.
Kaguya lowered her eyes slightly and let out a quiet sigh before answering honestly, "I'm hungry. I wanted to eat something. Nothing more."
"Hah?"
Sasuke was momentarily stunned. That answer was so direct it felt absurd.
"Don't you think that excuse is a bit too ridiculous?" he said with a sneer.
"I'm not lying. I really am hungry—very hungry," Kaguya replied seriously, her voice calm but firm.
"If you're hungry, go find something to eat outside. And that excuse is terrible. I'm not this dead last—you won't fool me," Sasuke said coldly.
"Human food is useless to me. What I need… is the energy inside his body," Kaguya said, pointing at Naruto. "That energy can sustain me."
Sasuke's expression darkened slightly. Absorbing chakra to survive? He had never even heard of such a thing.
Whoosh—
A figure suddenly appeared beside them. It was Kakashi, having sensed the disturbance and arrived in an instant.
"What's going on?" Kakashi asked calmly.
Sasuke briefly explained everything. After listening, Kakashi's gaze shifted to Kaguya, surprise flickering across his eyes. Meanwhile, Naruto remained fast asleep, completely unaware of the situation unfolding around him.
Under their scrutiny, Kaguya looked increasingly uncomfortable. Her strength had already weakened, and with hunger gnawing at her, she found it difficult to endure any longer.
At this moment, she truly wanted nothing more than to pounce on Naruto and feed.
"I understand the situation. Since you need chakra… how about this?" Kakashi said as he pulled out a scroll and summoned a heavy pouch.
Inside were soldier pills—compact rations used by shinobi to quickly restore chakra.
"These are soldier pills. They can replenish a ninja's energy after exhausting their chakra. What do you think?" Kakashi asked.
Kaguya glanced at the dark, unappealing pellets, sniffed them lightly, and immediately frowned, her eyes filled with obvious distaste.
"They'll do… I suppose. But I don't like this kind of thing. He's much better. I can just take from him. You don't need to worry," she said obediently.
"..."
Kakashi and Sasuke fell silent.
Who said we were worried about you?!
We're worried about Naruto!
And what did she mean by "take" every other sentence?
Just what kind of being was she?
"Forget about Naruto. Here—take the soldier pills," Sasuke said flatly, grabbing the pouch from Kakashi and tossing it toward her.
"So stingy…" Kaguya muttered, her expression faintly aggrieved.
Sasuke's face darkened further. Did this girl not understand her own situation at all? And… was she always this straightforward, or simply lacking common sense?
"Let me ask you something, Miss Kaguya," Kakashi said. "Why Naruto? And how exactly do you 'replenish energy'?"
"Because the energy inside him is very abundant. I want to eat my fill," Kaguya answered without hesitation, pointing at Naruto again.
A simple, almost innocent response.
"As for replenishing… it's quite easy. If it were one of my clansmen, I would just refine them into pills," she added after a brief pause.
The moment those words left her mouth, both Kakashi and Sasuke felt a chill run down their spines. Their gazes turned noticeably colder.
Refine… people into pills?
Was she serious?
"So you're planning to refine Naruto into a pill? Just like your so-called clansmen?" Sasuke asked, his voice icy.
If she gave the wrong answer, he wouldn't hesitate to act.
"No! I wouldn't do that!" Kaguya shook her head quickly, a trace of fear appearing on her face. "In my clan, I was the one meant to be eaten. I hate that kind of thing. I would never do it."
At the mention of her clan, her body trembled faintly.
Kakashi and Sasuke fell silent, unease settling deep in their hearts.
The one meant to be eaten?
What kind of clan was that?
"You don't need to worry. At most, I'll just lie on him and absorb a little chakra. I won't turn him into a pill," Kaguya added.
"What exactly are these 'clansmen' you're talking about? And the Ōtsutsuki—what kind of place is that?" Kakashi pressed.
Kaguya froze.
She clearly didn't want to talk about it. After hesitating for a moment, she asked quietly, "Can I… not answer that?"
"If you don't want to replenish your energy, then you don't have to answer," Kakashi replied with a faint smile.
Kaguya's expression immediately fell.
She glanced at Naruto, and a small, sly thought surfaced in her mind.
"Then… can I take just a tiny bit of his energy first? I'll tell you everything after I'm full. Is that okay?" she asked cautiously.
Kakashi and Sasuke both twitched slightly.
What kind of logic was that?
"I promise I won't take much—just a little. Really, just a tiny bit," Kaguya said, her tone almost pleading.
Kakashi considered it briefly before speaking. "Alright. But only if it won't harm Naruto. Can you guarantee that?"
Kaguya's eyes immediately lit up, her expression brightening.
"Don't worry. He's very strong. He has a lot of energy. Taking a little will actually be beneficial for him," she said confidently.
Ignoring their stares, her gaze fell upon Naruto once more, filled with undisguised hunger—like a predator eyeing its prey.
She wanted to pounce on him immediately.
But with the two watching her, she restrained herself and instead gently lifted Naruto's arm.
Under Kakashi and Sasuke's watchful eyes, she leaned down and bit into it.
Whoosh—
A stream of pure chakra flowed into her body. The tension in her expression melted away, her brows finally relaxing.
It had been days since she last fed.
Meanwhile, Naruto's face twitched slightly in his sleep, as if caught in a dream.
Deep within the sealed space—
A pair of crimson, vertical pupils snapped open. Accompanied by a suffocating aura of malice and hatred.
"Why… is this brat's chakra decreasing?!"
