Tang Han arrived at the training grounds early in the afternoon and prepared everything needed for practice and the post-training cooldown. Although the special parts he had ordered had already arrived, he decided not to collect them until after training, when he could bring Gold Ship along for safety.
Once everything was ready, he sat down, pulled out a book, and quietly waited for Urara and the others to arrive.
A pair of training shoes appeared in front of him. Looking up, he found King Halo standing over him.
He was surprised. Usually Tokai Teio was the first to arrive, but today King Halo had come alone and ahead of everyone else. When he awkwardly admitted that he was indeed a little happier to see her arrive first, King Halo immediately took that as further proof that he liked her.
From her point of view, Tang Han had been showering her with praise since the night before, and now he had basically confessed. Because of Seiun Sky's earlier "advice," King Halo believed she needed to take the initiative and lay down conditions before accepting his feelings.
So she launched into a long list of demands for what it would take to become her boyfriend. Tang Han, however, was completely baffled. He interpreted the whole conversation like a father listening to his daughter talk about what kind of future boyfriend she wanted, and he even started thinking about whether he could help her find someone suitable.
When he pointed out that some of her conditions were far too harsh, King Halo misunderstood him and began revising them in a more embarrassing direction, only to realize too late what she had said. Mortified, she nearly short-circuited on the spot.
Sensing the conversation was heading somewhere dangerous, Tang Han quickly threw her a lifeline and asked whether she had just been joking. King Halo immediately seized on that excuse, declaring that yes, of course it had all been a joke—just the humor of a first-rate King Halo.
Tang Han accepted that explanation. He then told her that if she dropped her first two unreasonable conditions and treated the relationship as something between equals, he would "do his best." In his mind, he meant he would do his best to help her find a boyfriend like that. But King Halo interpreted it as Tang Han seriously responding to her "confession."
She happily agreed that she would also work hard, which in her own head meant she had more or less accepted Tang Han's feelings without losing the upper hand.
As she laughed triumphantly and imagined future dates, King Halo completely failed to notice one crucial detail:
She had already started assuming that she and Tang Han would become lovers someday.
