Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Elena's POV

While walking across campus, I spotted someone familiar.

"Looks like him… who was that again…?"

Before I could figure it out—

"Hello, miss."

Suddenly, someone put their arm around me.

I froze.

That voice.

When I turned—

"Oh! It's you!" I quickly removed his arm from my shoulder. "Can you not? Your hand."

He laughed, finally letting go. "You're so mean."

"Why are you here anyway?" I asked, already annoyed.

This guy… my childhood friend.

He's the type who follows me everywhere, as long as he can convince his mom.

"I'm here because you're here," he said casually.

I stared at him.

"Why do I even bother asking…" I muttered.

"Wait—who were you looking at earlier?" he suddenly asked, curious.

I paused.

Then quickly looked away.

"Nothing." I waved it off. "Bye, I have class."

I hurried off before he could ask more.

"Sigh… what was that," I mumbled to myself while walking alone. "He might as well just call me his mom for how much he follows me around."

Yes. I really talk to myself.

Don't judge.

When I got to the classroom, I immediately went inside—heart already racing for no reason.

I chose a seat at the back.

Safe zone.

No calling me out.

No attention.

Perfect.

While waiting, the door suddenly opened.

And then—

He walked in.

Tall. Chink-eyed. Mestizo. Built like someone who actually spends time at the gym.

The kind of guy who looks like a main character.

"Sh*t…" I whispered under my breath.

He removed his cap.

And somehow—he became even more attractive.

You could tell he was a few years older… maybe three or four.

But—

"I think we'd look good together…" I whispered, already lost in my imagination.

"Miss?"

I blinked.

Why is he so close?

"Miss, excuse me?"

Before I could even process—

He placed his book on my desk.

And just like that—

All my delusions disappeared.

"Huh—what?" I stuttered, my heart beating way too fast.

"Can you give me this seat?" he said, his voice calm… almost cold.

"What? No. I was here first."

"You're not blind enough for me to still explain why I need this seat, right?"

I frowned.

"So what?" I shot back.

He looked at me, clearly getting annoyed. "Are you serious?"

"Wait…" I squinted at him.

Then it clicked.

"Weren't you that guy yesterday? The one who almost made me fall but didn't even help?"

His expression didn't change.

I raised an eyebrow.

"Ohhh… I get it now. So you're not a gentleman. That's why you didn't help me. And now you even want me to move?"

I crossed my arms.

Truth hurts.

Before he could respond—

"Elena!"

I turned.

Of course.

Zeu.

"What are you doing? Come on—let's sit in front," he said, already grabbing my things.

"Wait—what—"

Too late.

He already pulled me out of the situation.

I glanced back.

Jero didn't say anything.

But his expression—

He was definitely not happy.

Well…

Is that my fault?

I was just telling the truth.

After class, while walking out with Zeu—

Suddenly, someone pulled me.

I stumbled back.

"Wait—"

It was Jero.

Before I could react—

Zeu also pulled me to the other side.

"Hey—"

Now I'm stuck.

Literally.

Between the two of them.

One on my left.

One on my right.

And somehow—

Neither of them is letting go.

I swallowed.

What is happening…?

At that moment… I realized—this was just the beginning of a problem I wouldn't be able to escape.
