Chapter 10 - WHEN ONE BECOMES MANY

Kael was falling again.

But this time, it wasn't darkness.

It was himself.

Light tore through his body—not pain, but separation.

Like reality was gently unthreading him from one existence into several.

"Begin convergence."

The Third Seal's voice echoed one final time.

Then—

silence.

Kael tried to scream.

But his voice split.

Not into echoes.

Into different tones.

Different Kaels.

One voice was panicked.

Another was calm.

Another… was silent.

Kael's vision shattered.

And suddenly—

he was standing in three places at once.

1) The Broken Hall

Kael fell to his knees in a shattered version of the academy.

Students frozen mid-movement.

The sky cracked like glass.

2) The Judgment Layer

Kael stood on a floating platform above endless stacked worlds.

The First Judgment Law watching him silently.

3) The Empty Space

Kael stood alone in a white void.

And in front of him—

the First Forgotten Legend.

Except she didn't recognize him.

Kael staggered.

"…What is this…?"

A voice answered from everywhere.

Not one voice.

Multiple.

Layered.

"You are not one."

"You are not complete."

"You are not permitted separation."

Kael held his head.

"STOP TALKING LIKE I'M BROKEN!"

The void Kael stepped back slightly.

"…I don't remember you."

Kael froze.

"…What?"

The First Forgotten Legend in this layer tilted her head.

Not chains.

Not blindfold.

Just confusion.

"Designation mismatch detected."

"Unknown entity resembles sealed fragment template."

Kael's breathing became unstable.

"…Fragment?"

Suddenly—

the academy version of Kael looked up sharply.

"They are syncing."

The Judgment Layer Kael clenched his fist.

"…No… not like this…"

All three Kaels spoke at once.

But not together.

Separately.

"We are being forced into alignment."

"We are being overwritten."

"We are remembering incorrectly."

Kael's mind shattered further.

And then—

he saw it.

A massive structure beneath all layers.

Not throne.

Not system.

Not world.

A core design.

Like reality itself had an engine.

And inside it—

a name.

Not fully visible.

But familiar.

Too familiar.

Kael whispered:

"…That's… me?"

The Judgment Layer Kael shook his head slowly.

"…No."

A pause.

"That is what you were before fragmentation."

The academy Kael suddenly gasped.

"WAIT—THAT'S NOT ALL OF US!"

The void Kael turned sharply.

"…There are more?"

Silence.

Then—

a response from below reality.

Deep.

Massive.

Final.

"Seven remain unawakened."

Kael froze.

"…Seven…?"

The First Forgotten Legend in the void layer stepped back slightly.

For the first time—

fear.

Not confusion.

Not observation.

Fear.

"This is beyond my record."

The Judgment Layer Kael looked upward.

And whispered:

"…So the Third Seal wasn't the start."

A pause.

"It was the middle."

Kael clenched his fists in all three places.

"Then what am I?!"

All layers responded at once.

Not voices.

A verdict.

"You are the convergence point."

The world shook violently.

And suddenly—

the three Kaels began moving toward each other.

Not by choice.

By force.

The academy version screamed:

"STOP—THIS IS WRONG!"

The Judgment version whispered:

"…We cannot resist alignment."

The void version looked at Kael directly.

And said something unexpected.

Soft.

Almost human.

"I think I was lonely before this."

Kael froze.

"…What?"

Then—

impact.

The three versions collided.

Not violently.

But completely.

Like three broken mirrors snapping back into one image.

Kael screamed.

And for a brief moment—

he saw everything.

A war beyond worlds.

A throne breaking.

A name being erased.

And himself—

choosing to forget.

Then—

silence.

Kael opened his eyes.

He was whole again.

But different.

Heavier.

Stronger.

Not complete.

Just less broken.

A system message appeared.

Red.

Stable.

Final.

⚠️ SEAL PROGRESSION UPDATED

THIRD SEAL: PARTIAL STABILIZATION

FOURTH SEAL: DETECTED (DORMANT)

CONVERGENCE LEVEL: 37%

Kael whispered:

"…There's more."

And somewhere far beyond the layers—

something answered.

For the first time clearly.

"Of course there is."

Kael froze.

"…Who are you?"

The voice replied softly.

Almost kindly.

"The one who made sure you forgot the worst part first."

Silence.

And in the distance—

something else opened its eyes.
