Kevin decided to spend the day at home. There was no particular reason for it. Several matters required his attention, but none of them demanded his physical presence at the office. So after breakfast, he had gone into the study and remained there, working through reports and taking calls whenever necessary.
Loretta took a spin around the estate with the car. It was the first time she was owning something so luxurious. Although the Gladstone family had money, they never spent more than necessary on her.
When she returned from the drive, the cleaners were already cleaning. Although she noticed they acted more quietly than usual, she did not think much of it.
By late afternoon, Kevin finally closed the file in front of him and leaned back in his chair. He had spent most of the day dealing with business matters and had barely noticed how much time had passed.
