Kevin arrived home later than usual that day. By the time he stepped into the living room, Loretta was already seated on the sofa, going through something on her phone.
She looked up when she heard him, "welcome."
Kevin nodded his head as he walked toward the sofa, "Do you have plans in a few days?"
Loretta frowned slightly at the unexpected question, "No."
"Good." He stopped in front of her, "You'll be attending the First Lady's charity gala with me."
Loretta stared at him, "Me?"
Kevin looked at her the answer were obvious," yes."
Her fingers tightened slightly around her phone," The charity gala?"
"That's what I said." Kevin wonder if something had happened to her brain.
Loretta's expression changed, she had attended company events before, but those were different. She understood how to conduct herself at a business function after all no one cares about a contract stuff.
A charity gala attended by the country's most influential families was another matter entirely.
