Chapter 10 - A Will Beyond the System

Sunrays spilled through the fading night sky as Noah woke up on a tree branch, a large and sturdy one he had found the previous night, his body resting calmly after hours of stillness while the forest slowly transitioned from darkness into morning light.

"Yawn~, it's morning huh?" He spoke casually as his senses spread outward, instantly mapping the forest around him in perfect clarity. His eyeholes were still covered with the torn black attire, yet his perception made that loss completely irrelevant.

He slowly got up from the branch, balancing effortlessly before jumping down, his body descending lightly. His feet touched the ground without making a sound as he noticed once again how unnaturally light his body had become after all the leveling ups.

Noah had walked almost forty kilometres all day yesterday, covering vast stretches of the forest without stopping. Even though his body didn't feel tired anymore, his daily routine from Earth still lingered, making him instinctively rest and sleep during the night.

He slowly spread his senses again and he had finally reached it...fate had guided him to the Calamity itself...he had reached the Ancient temple, its presence standing silently ahead like something forgotten by time itself.

He had already found it the previous night, but didn't dwell on what this was instead he had gone to sleep without worry, completely ignoring the ominous presence that lingered within the structure.

Hell, he didn't even bothered to check what was inside! Even now, recalling that fact felt absurd, but at that moment exhaustion and indifference had overridden his curiosity completely.

Noah was standing a few meters from it's massive double-door and the massive pillars that were rooted with trees, the ancient structure towering before him as his senses instinctively moved forward to explore it.

Noah's senses flared and it stopped expanding as it reached the double-door, as if something invisible had blocked it entirely, refusing to let his perception pass through even a single inch.

He frowned in confusion as he thought 'What's this? My senses got blocked?' the sudden restriction immediately alerted him that something about this place was far from normal.

His guard went up as he knew something was amiss, his instincts sharpening instantly as he recalled countless stories where ancient structures like this always hid danger, secrets, or something far worse.

So he decided not to even consider going inside it, his mind already calculating the risks and concluding that whatever was inside would only bring unnecessary trouble to him.

'Let's not bring trouble to myself...I will escape this forest and that's my only goal for now.' he thought firmly as he turned slightly sideways, making his decision without hesitation.

And walked straight as he started passing through the temple, choosing to ignore its existence entirely, prioritizing survival over curiosity as his steps moved forward calmly.

But just as he did, the ground started to shake, first slowly, like a faint tremor beneath his feet, then its intensity surged violently within the next second, catching him completely off guard.

Noah's senses darted toward the double-door where a creaking sound echoed deeply through the air, not like something opening, but something forcefully breaking apart under immense pressure.

The double-door - it was breaking not just opening, cracks forming rapidly across its ancient surface as if whatever was sealed inside could no longer be contained.

And he sensed an unbelievable amount of thick Aura coming from within, so dense and overwhelming that his body instinctively froze as sweat trickled down his chin.

'Wh-what's this? This Aura is Unimaginable...' his thoughts trembled as the sheer magnitude of that presence far surpassed anything he had felt before.

Each second passed and the door broke slightly more as if its restraining power lacked compared to what was bound inside, unable to hold it any longer.

Then Noah heard sounds, sounds of chains breaking, heavy metallic echoes reverberating from within as if something ancient was being released after an eternity.

The ground shook more violently as the earth cracked beneath his feet, splitting apart into two massive halves that opened like a deep chasm right beneath him.

Noah sensed it and jumped to his left side immediately to avoid falling in that crater, his reflexes barely saving him as the ground collapsed where he had been standing moments ago.

The door cracked even more and a pressure descended upon Noah, no—not only Noah but the whole forest, the whole Kingdom Of Velzar and the entire continent felt that overwhelming force.

Above the Forest of Imosul dark clouds began to gather with ferocious velocity, swallowing the sky as if reacting to the presence being released from its seal.

Noah's knees buckled inward as he fell on the ground, sweat covering his pale face as even breathing became difficult under the crushing pressure pressing down on him.

And that's when the double-door fully broke apart and the black thin sword shot up into the sky, the one that had been embedded in the center of the temple.

It flew upward and then descended sharply, embedding itself into the ground right beside Noah's kneeling form, the impact cracking the earth and sending dust rising like smoke.

And from within that cracked ground emerged the Calamity -The Dragon.

Its massive black wings spread outward as it rose into the sky, a single flap of those wings creating a violent gust that uprooted trees effortlessly.

Noah's senses went on high alert, his instincts screaming at him to run away, but the overwhelming pressure kept him locked in place, unable to move even if he wanted to.

He gritted his teeth and expanded his senses, searching desperately for the source of it all, and he sensed it...high up in the sky, the shape of a Dragon.

His perception outlined every inch of its body, the massive scales, the wings, its terrifying mouth—it matched everything he had ever read or seen before.

'A...A Freaking dragon?!' his thoughts were abruptly cut as reality far surpassed imagination.

On the other hand, the massive Black Dragon opened its eyes slowly, its vertical slits scanning the horizon with ancient awareness. Its gaze carried a weight that felt like it had witnessed countless eras, as its deep, heavy voice echoed through the sky itself.

"I wonder, if those Vile Demons still larks in this world?"

Its pupils turned white as it expanded its perception, sensing every trace of life energy within the forest, piercing through beings effortlessly. But amidst all those ordinary signatures, it found something…different, something that did not belong within this natural order.

The Dragon narrowed its massive eyes as it thought 'Hmm, this is interesting...someone with the life energy of a God?' its curiosity was instantly piqued, something rare for a being of its existence.

Its gaze locked onto Noah's kneeling form, his head still lowered as the pressure crushed him. He had already given up trying to lift it, his body resisting instinctively but ultimately failing against such overwhelming dominance.

The Dragon mused in its thoughts as it observed him carefully 'Although, The Life energy is very subtle, it's there...hmm and it's also a Human.' its curiosity only deepened further at this contradiction.

The Dragon then turned and descended, its massive body landing on the ground with a force that nearly caused surrounding trees to collapse. The earth trembled under its presence, yet the overwhelming pressure reduced slightly afterward.

Noah's senses warned him again, but this time the suffocating pressure lessened enough for him to move slightly. Slowly, he lifted his head, sensing the Dragon standing directly in front of him, towering above his existence.

The Dragon finally spoke, its voice carrying both authority and curiosity that demanded an answer.

"Human, What is your Name?"

Noah frowned slightly beneath the cloth covering his eyes, unable to understand why such a being would ask something so simple, yet he answered without hesitation.

"My name is Noah...Noah Novachrono."

The Dragon heard it clearly, repeating it in a thoughtful tone as if testing the weight behind the name itself.

"Noah huh? and Novachrono? Interesting...Why are in this forest?"

Noah answered without hesitation, his voice steady despite the situation, knowing full well that resistance here meant nothing.

"I was sent here as a Punishment for my deeds..."

He answered truthfully, though not completely, omitting parts of the story that held no relevance. The Dragon narrowed its eyes slightly before finally speaking the question that mattered.

"Human tell me this, Why do I sense a God's Life Energy flowing inside you?"

At this, Noah furrowed his covered eyebrows as confusion surged within him, his thoughts racing instantly.

'What? God's Life Energy? Me?...what is it on Abou-!'

Just as he tried to finish his thoughts, the system chimed inside his mind with a heavy and suffocating statement, its presence suddenly turning hostile.

[Information override detected, Forcefully deleting Information from Host's Mind]

In the next instant, everything shattered.

An immense pain exploded inside his mind as if something was tearing his very existence apart from within. Noah clutched his head immediately, collapsing as he screamed uncontrollably.

"KHUGGHHH AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

[Host is resisting Authority of deletion of Information]

[Increasing intensity...]

The pain surged further, growing beyond what his mind could handle. It wasn't just pain—his memories were being erased, ripped away piece by piece as his entire past began collapsing.

The Dragon standing before him narrowed its eyes, its pupils glowing white once more as it observed something impossible—Noah's mind reconstructing itself, neurons clashing violently in defiance.

'Wh-what? something like that shouldn't be possible...what's happening to this kid?' the Dragon thought, its ancient composure shaken for the first time.

On the other hand, Noah felt it all—his memories fading, his past slipping away. His sister's face, his parents, everything that defined him was being erased.

He refused.

He endured.

"I WON'T LET YOU TAKE MY MEMORIES!!!!!!!!!!"

His roar wasn't just pain—it was defiance. His will surged violently, pushing back against the system's authority as something deep within him awakened once more.

System errors flooded endlessly.

[ERORR!]

[ERORR!]

[Reattempting...Failed!]

Failure.

Again.

And again.

And again.

"DAMNNNNNN SYSTEMMMMM! I...I WILL KILL YOU! I WILL GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!"

And that's exactly what he did.

His consciousness sank inward, diving deep into his own mental realm without even understanding what he was doing. Darkness surrounded him completely—endless and silent.

But in that darkness, there was something.

A flickering white screen.

His ethereal form moved toward it instinctively, his hands reaching out before gripping its edges tightly. Rage consumed him entirely as his voice echoed through that void.

"I WILL TEAR YOU APART YOU DAMN SYSTEM!!!!"

With raw will alone, he pulled.

The screen resisted for a moment—then tore apart.

It shattered into countless fragments, dissolving into dust as one final message flickered weakly.

[DAMN YOU HOST! YOU ARE GOING TO REGRET....]

Noah didn't listen.

He didn't care.

The moment it was destroyed, his consciousness was violently pulled back to reality, his senses snapping open once more as the world returned around him.

But the system's voice returned.

This time—

It was different.
