His face twisted in a mask of pure rage as he pulled out his heavy silver revolver, aiming it straight at Persephone's chest.
Those on the mast, the sails, and the crow's nest, who had been lucky enough not to get washed away by the sudden wave, quickly followed his actions.
They scrambled, pulling out their muskets and pistols. Within seconds, their guns were blazing, filling the air with loud pops and thick grey smoke as bullets upon bullets flew through the air toward the two sisters.
But to the pirates' absolute horror, nothing went according to plan.
Each time a lead bullet was about to pierce the smooth skin of one of the sisters, thick, iridescent fish scales would emerge in a timely manner right at the point of impact, completely deflecting the deadly metal.
Rather than a bloody display of torn flesh and screaming women, the bullets were ricocheting everywhere, bouncing off their skin with loud metallic pinging sounds.
