Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: RISE OF THE UNSTOPPABLE

The moment the host stepped onto the stage, the entire arena fell into complete silence as if the air itself had been pressed down by an unseen force, every eye locked onto him, every breath held in anticipation.

He stood tall at the center, his presence calm yet overwhelming, a man whose strength alone spoke louder than any introduction, and when he finally raised his hand, the massive arrays surrounding the arena lit up, sealing the entire place into a controlled battlefield.

"Welcome."

His voice echoed across the arena, steady and clear.

"To the New Generation Tournament."

A slight pause followed, letting the weight of those words settle.

"This is where talent is tested."

"This is where strength is proven."

"And this…"

His gaze swept across the participants.

"…is where the future of this world is decided."

The crowd erupted instantly, cheers rising like a storm, but within the arena, the tension only grew heavier. Every participant stood alert, their eyes sharp, their bodies ready. This wasn't just another test. This was war between the strongest of their generation.

The host continued.

"The format is simple. Three stages."

"Survive."

"Dominate."

"Claim your position."

With a wave of his hand, a massive projection appeared in the sky above, displaying the structure of the tournament.

"The first stage will be a large-scale elimination battle. All participants will be placed in a controlled combat zone. No teams. No alliances. Only survival and victory. Those who stand out… move forward."

A murmur spread across the crowd.

The host raised a finger.

"The second stage will refine the survivors. Rankings will begin to form. And the third…"

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"…will decide the top ten."

The air turned heavy.

"Now."

His tone shifted slightly.

"Let's talk about rewards."

At that moment, even the strongest participants leaned forward slightly, their attention fully captured.

"For the Top 10."

The projection changed. A list appeared.

"High-tier cultivation techniques. Exclusive combat skills. Rare artifacts. Direct access to elite training grounds. Guidance from top-level instructors. And…"

A pause.

"Special privileges within the academy. Top 20 will be qualified for inner zone and will shift there."

The crowd reacted instantly, the weight of those rewards clear to everyone. These weren't things that could be obtained easily. These were stepping stones to greatness.

"For the Top 20."

"Advanced techniques. Resource priority. Access to restricted facilities. And personal mentorship opportunities. And for those who stand out…"

His gaze sharpened.

"Even if you don't rank… you will still be chosen. Talent… never goes unnoticed."

The message was clear. Even those who didn't win could still rise, if they proved themselves.

The host lowered his hand.

"Now… Enter the battlefield."

The ground beneath them began to glow. Arrays activated. Space twisted. And in the next moment, everyone disappeared.

Lee Hyun felt the shift instantly as his surroundings changed, the arena replaced by a vast open battlefield filled with ruins, broken terrain, and scattered structures, a perfect place for chaos to unfold. He stood still for a second, observing, analyzing, his senses expanding outward.

Then, a notification appeared.

Lee Hyun's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Wow... What a huge rewards... This will make it intresting for me."

These rewards, were not normal. They were pushing him. Forcing him, to aim for the top. A faint smile appeared on his face.

"…First place. Then let's take it."

Meanwhile, not far from him, Min Seoah stood on a frozen patch of ground, her breath steady, her aura calm yet dangerous. Her eyes scanned the battlefield, already locking onto multiple presences approaching her.

The tournament, had begun. The first clash came quickly. A group of participants rushed toward Lee Hyun, sensing his presence, thinking numbers would give them the advantage. Three A-rank awakeners, confident, aggressive, and completely unaware of what they were stepping into.

"Take him down!"

One of them shouted. They attacked together fast, and coordinated. But, too slow. Lee Hyun stepped forward. His sword moved.

Dragon Blade Dance activated instantly, his body flowing like a current, his movements smooth yet unpredictable, and before they could even adjust, one was already down.

It was a clean strike. Also precise. The second tried to counter, but Lee Hyun shifted his stance mid-motion, his blade cutting through the attack and sending him crashing to the ground.

The third froze for a split second. But that was enough for him. A flash, and it was over. Three opponents were gone, without any effort.

Elsewhere, Min Seoah moved like a storm of frost, her presence freezing everything around her, her attacks sharp and absolute. Her opponents barely had time to react before their movements slowed, their bodies stiffening under the cold, and with a simple gesture, ice shattered, and they fell.

Both of them, were dominating completely. As time passed, the battlefield turned chaotic, clashes happening everywhere, powerful individuals rising, weaker ones falling, but among all of them, two names began to stand out more than anyone else.

Lee Hyun and Min Seoah. Their victories were clean, effortless and overwhelming. There was no wasted movement, or hesitation. Only dominance.

Participants began avoiding them. Some tried to challenge them, but none succeeded. One by one, they fell. And as the first stage progressed, one thing became clear to everyone watching.

These two, were not on the same level as the rest. They weren't just strong. They were, monsters. High above, the observers watched silently, their expressions serious, their eyes focused.

One of them spoke quietly.

"…They've grown again. It'll be more problematic later."

Another nodded.

"At this rate…"

A pause.

"…first place is already decided."

But deep within the battlefield, Lee Hyun stood calmly, his sword resting lightly in his hand, his eyes scanning the distance. Because for him, this was only the beginning. This was nothing to him.
