Chapter 2 - THE RETURN

The gates of Velmora Institute didn't open for just anyone.

They opened for power.

For legacy.

For names that carried weight.

And today—

they opened for her.

A black car rolled to a slow, silent stop at the entrance.

Students lingered. Conversations faded. Eyes turned.

Not out of curiosity.

But instinct.

The door opened.

And Aeris Valen stepped out.

Graceful. Unhurried. Untouched.

The soft morning light brushed against her features, catching in the strands of her dark hair as they moved slightly with the wind. Her expression remained calm—almost distant.

As if none of this mattered.

As if they didn't matter.

Whispers followed her like shadows.

"That's her…"

"She actually came…"

"Valen… after six years…"

She walked past them.

Not faster. Not slower.

Just… forward.

Like she had already lived this moment before.

Inside the campus, everything was exactly as expected.

Luxurious halls. Polished floors. Controlled smiles.

A world built on perfection.

A world she didn't belong to—

anymore.

Her heels echoed softly against the marble floor as she walked.

No hesitation. No fear.

Because fear was something she had buried

six years ago…

along with everything else.

And then—

she stopped.

Not because she wanted to.

But because something… shifted.

The air.

The silence.

The space around her.

It changed.

Like something unseen had just stepped into it.

Her gaze lifted slowly.

And that's when she saw him.

Kael Virex.

He stood across the hall, surrounded—but untouched.

People spoke near him, laughed even.

But none of it reached him.

Because his eyes—

were already on her.

Dark. Still. Unmoving.

Not surprised.

Not curious.

Just… watching.

As if he had been waiting.

For a moment—

everything else disappeared.

The noise. The people. The world.

It narrowed down to a single line between them.

Unbroken.

Dangerous.

Aeris didn't look away.

She couldn't.

And strangely—

she didn't want to.

Then—

he moved.

One step.

Then another.

Slow. Controlled. Certain.

Each step closing the distance between them like it had already been decided.

Whispers grew louder.

"Why is he—"

"Kael never—"

"What's happening…?"

He stopped in front of her.

Close enough to invade space.

Far enough to remain untouchable.

For a second—

neither of them spoke.

Then Kael tilted his head slightly.

Studying her.

Not like a stranger.

But like something… already known.

And then—

he spoke.

Low. Calm.

Unavoidable.

"Kaelis no vareth....Aeris"

Literal:

( "You cannot escape me ")

Real meaning:

(I've already decided u are mine- whether u realize it or not )

Her breath didn't hitch.

Her expression didn't break.

But something—

deep inside—

shifted.

"…What?" she said quietly.

His gaze didn't move.

If anything—

it darkened.

"You'll understand soon."

A pause.

Then—

his voice dropped, softer.

Closer.

"Velmora en thrae..."

Literal:

(" Even your darkness belongs to me ")

Real meaning:

(I don't just want your good side - I want the broken parts too)

And just like that—

he stepped past her.

As if nothing had happened.

As if he hadn't just changed something—

irreversibly.

But Aeris didn't move.

Didn't turn.

Didn't breathe.

Because for the first time in six years—

she felt it.

Not fear.

Not pain.

Something worse.

Something… beginning.
