Chapter 19 - Chapter 18 Training

"Elastic Sound Harmony" he calmly said as he took out a martial art manual from his bosom. "To think this kind of martial art even existed..originally i was planing to learn a fist type martial art but after discovering this manual. I changed my mind."

Even though Elastic Sound Harmony was a sound based martial art.

Hao jun somewhat knew about other types of martial arts due to the village he grew up in, compared to some of his fellow disciples who were formerly slaves he wasn't completely ignorant.

Scanning through the manual "This martial art has attack, defense and movements all working together in harmony. It's a complete martial art the only thing that it lacks is a talented individual who can completely master it and bring out it's potential...." He smirked, his eyes shone brilliantly, placing down the manual beside him. He calmly plucked the zither silk threads with his hand.

A soothing sound rang out.

Adding the sound of the heavy waterfall and the chirping birds. The place became lively.

"Truly, it lives up to it's name..."

He slowly closed his eyes as he directed his mind towards his shrine, located in his abdomen. Inside the shrine a white luminous substance lay still, like a calm, tranquil lake beneath the moonlight. At the next moment, The luminous substance gushed forth. Enveloping his hands and the zither.

His hands became light as the wind. Playing the zither at a steady pace.

"Sound is formless, yet it pervades all things. Without it, the world and its living beings would be incomplete. Like an unseen current, it stretches and reverberates, reaching even the furthest corners of heaven and earth" Saying so, he increased the speed at which he played the zither.

Because of the shrine qi covered in his hands and the zither, Each note echoed with greater intensity.

"Unlike fist and sword martial arts, Elastic Sound Harmony is a long-range martial art. Right now, my musical notes can barely reach four feet. But this is due to my lack of control over the amount of shrine qi i use as well as my inexperience with martial arts." After training for a little while, he quickly picked up on his flaws.

"First I need to master offense and movements, once I grasp these two I will be able to advance and retreat."

Every martial art is divided into three aspects. offense, defense, and movement. Only when one masters all three and can use them flawlessly even in desperate situations can one truly be called a Martial Master.

Without stopping his playing, He leapt from the rock. his long black hair and jade green robes fluttering.

"Bam"

But at the next moment, he fell to the ground hard. face first.

"AAH!" he groaned in pain as blood immediately began dripping from his nose.

"This… this is not good. I should've been more careful." Seeing the blood, regret, fear and panic rose in his heart.

He remembered his situation, he was in Yu feng sect , and he had just begun his martial arts training. If he fell ill now, what would the elders think of him? He wasn't panicking because he was afraid of the pain but because the elders might discard him if he can't practice martial arts.

His fear and panic weren't baseless

"huff huff, I should calm down for now, it's probably only a nosebleed." He quickly regained his composure and begun inspecting his body.

"Phew...fortunately i didn't break any bones."

"Sigh, I got too excited and poured most of my Shrine qi into my hands and the zither, Leaving no shrine qi to reinforce my feet."

Lifting his gaze toward the rock before him, He finally understood why he had fallen despite performing well with the zither.

In the world of martial masters, every execution demands perfect harmony. Techniques, shrine qi control, and emotional state must all align without the slightest deviation.

"Hahaha, martial arts are so interesting." He laughed loudly in excitement as he picked up his zither.

A young man walked out of the courtyard.

Dressed in jade-green robes, the young man had an ordinary appearance. It was Wu Jin.

These past few days, he had been studying literacy under Xiao Mei Yue's guidance. After noticing some improvement, he decided to train in martial arts.

"Elder feng jing mentioned we could train anywhere we want in this mountain as long as we don't enter any properties we encounter on the mountain" he calmly thought to himself as he continued walking.

After walking for a while he arrived at an area filled with massive bamboo tress.

Each bamboo tree was big and tall as a house. stretching endlessly across the field.

"This place should do" returning his gaze from the massive bamboo tress he took out a martial art manual from his bosom and put it down on the ground along with his sword. As he began taking off his clothes.

Left only with pants

He carefully folded them into neat layers and set them down beside a bamboo tree.

Growing up as a slave. Wu jin had never worn fancy clothes, even though the jade-green robes belonged to the sect, he still fancied them and didn't want to ruin them while training.

"Dao of saber sword arts." Wu Jin recited calmly while holding his sword tightly with both hands.

"The Dao of Saber Sword Arts is a martial art that specializes in using the dao saber sword. However, it only has four completed forms and after improving my literacy, I came to realize that it is an abandoned martial art someone created it but gave up on it halfway."

"For now I will try and master the first form" closing his eyes slowly he directed his mind towards his shrine, aiming to draw the refined qi within it.

Once mortals construct their shrine, a link forms between them and heaven and earth. They are then able to absorb, refine, store, and use qi. On the path of martial masters, this is what separates mortals from martial masters. Of course, constructing a shrine is a life and death process, and not many survive it.

"The first form of the Dao of Saber Sword Arts, "Slaying Mortals and Martial Masters Alike," is a technique that fuses vertical, horizontal, thrusting, and upward slashes into a single, flawless execution. All of it is done at once, with absolute precision. In my current state, there is no way I can execute this form. I'll have to start with the vertical slash and slowly work my way upward." Under his control, the refined qi within his shrine flowed into the sword, coating its blade. Martial masters are nothing without the refined earth qi stored within their shrine. This earth qi not only strengthens their physical body but also enhances their weapons. Every technique consumes shrine qi, and once a martial master exhausts it completely, their strength will plummet, falling all the way back to that of an ordinary mortal.

As he slowly swung the sword downward in a vertical slash, dust scattered beneath it.

Wu Jin continued performing vertical slashes one after another, trying to fully grasp the technique and imprint it into his mind and muscles.

"Ten Extreme Illusion Swords, First Form: Sword Mist!" Xiao Mei Yue's figure moved rapidly, and the sword in her hand became blurry as she thrust it toward the tree in front of her.

The tree shook as countless leaves fell.

"Huff… huff… the core of the "Ten Extreme Illusion Swords" lies in its footwork. If I can perfect my movement techniques, mastering the rest should become much easier." Behind the courtyard, Xiao Mei Yue panted heavily. The tree before her was covered in countless big and small holes.

She too was training and reflecting on her flaws.

"This martial art is advanced and mastering it will surely be difficult but it will definitely pay off." Her eyes shone brilliantly as she steadied her breathing and continued training.

The more advanced a martial art is, the more difficult it's to master it. She was well aware of this fact even before becoming a disciple of Yu feng sect and choosing this martial art.
