Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Looking at the young boy sitting on the ground, Mei Mei judged from his exhausted state and the lingering traces of cursed energy around him that, as unbelievable as it seemed, he was likely the one who had exorcised the cursed spirit.

Still, to be absolutely certain, she asked anyway.

After all, for a child this young to eliminate a Grade 1—nearly Special Grade—curse was beyond extraordinary. And the surge of cursed energy that had drawn her here earlier had been nothing short of terrifying.

However, the boy—young and striking in appearance—said nothing, only watching her cautiously.

Mei Mei couldn't help but sigh, rubbing her forehead. She had little experience dealing with children this young—especially one who clearly remained wary of her.

Composing herself, she put on a gentle, reassuring smile and crouched down slightly.

"Don't be afraid," she said softly. "I'm a jujutsu sorcerer—I deal with monsters like these. You can think of me as a kind of police officer. Now, can you tell me what happened here?"

"Jujutsu sorcerer…"

It was as if something clicked in Tokiya Shingen's mind.

He began searching his memories—

And then it hit him.

Jujutsu sorcerers.

In Jujutsu Kaisen, they were individuals who could use cursed energy—born from human negativity—to fight curses. Those with innate techniques and the ability to control cursed energy were called sorcerers, and they were responsible for exorcising cursed spirits.

Scenes from the anime flashed through his mind.

In his previous life, he hadn't been deeply familiar with the series—he had only watched part of the anime—but now, the characters and fragments of the story resurfaced one by one.

That's right.

Mei Mei.

The white-haired woman.

No wonder she had seemed familiar.

Which meant—

He had been reborn into the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.

And his "telekinesis"… was actually cursed energy.

Did that mean he was exceptionally talented?

His thoughts raced chaotically, one after another.

Meanwhile, Mei Mei's smile was beginning to stiffen as she waited for a response.

Just as she was about to try a different approach—

The boy finally spoke.

"My name is Tokiya Shingen. A huge monster ate Koharu-neechan… so I killed it."

Following the direction he pointed, Mei Mei spotted Koharu Kyoko lying on the ground.

She walked over and checked her condition.

"She's only unconscious," Mei Mei said calmly. "No serious injuries. The curse didn't affect her too deeply—she just needs a long rest."

She turned back to the boy, letting out a small breath of relief.

At the same time, curiosity and interest filled her gaze.

Walking over, she effortlessly lifted Tokiya Shingen to his feet.

"I'll take your word for it for now. You've dealt with the big one, and I've already cleared out the smaller ones. Let's head outside first. Did you see any other survivors?"

Shingen told her about the two children hiding in the cabinet.

Without hesitation, Mei Mei picked him up in one hand and lifted the unconscious Koharu Kyoko with the other, carrying both as if they weighed nothing.

They passed through a curtain-like barrier.

If he remembered correctly, this was called a Curtain—a barrier used by sorcerers to isolate an area during missions.

Outside, they were placed into a black car.

Mei Mei then returned inside the Curtain and soon came back with the two children—still shaken, but relatively calm.

Afterward, she called Tokiya Shingen aside.

Having rested briefly, he was already feeling much better.

With clear curiosity in her eyes, she said:

"Someone will be here soon to handle the aftermath. Could you tell me everything that happened in detail?"

After a moment of thought, Shingen selectively recounted the events.

Now that he had confirmed he was in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, he had already made a decision.

He needed to find a way to enroll in a jujutsu school.

He had no family lineage—and in the world of sorcery, lineage mattered.

Even with talent, trying to grow alone would lead nowhere.

Especially when the strongest sorcerer alive—

Gojo Satoru—

was right here.

Enter jujutsu school. Learn from Gojo Satoru. Grow stronger.

With that goal in mind, he didn't refuse Mei Mei's request.

As long as he explained things clearly enough, his talent would stand out.

That would be his first step into the world of jujutsu.

A vast and extraordinary world was finally opening before him—

And with his abilities, how could he turn away?

As expected, after hearing his somewhat uneven explanation, Mei Mei's expression became complex—somewhere between shock and admiration.

She patted his head.

"There are some snacks in the car. The police and medical staff will be here soon, so just wait."

Shingen sat in the car, sharing snacks with Kumiko, who was hungry after everything that had happened.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Mei Mei standing nearby, making a phone call.

"…Satoru, you'd never guess this. Inside that incomplete curse's innate domain, a child exorcised it."

Mei Mei smiled faintly.

After listening to the response on the other end, she continued:

"Yes. He's likely awakened a technique. He's already grasped some basic cursed energy control—and his reserves are… frighteningly vast."

"…Alright. Come over as soon as you've finished on your end."

Not long after, sirens filled the air.

Police cars and ambulances arrived.

Koharu Kyoko and the two children were taken away.

After a brief exchange with Mei Mei, the police headed toward the orphanage, now no longer covered by the Curtain.

Mei Mei returned to the car.

Shingen glanced at her, then looked out the window.

Neither spoke.

A quiet, comfortable silence settled between them.

Suddenly—

A figure appeared in Shingen's line of sight.

His eyes widened slightly as he examined the man.

White hair, styled upward.

A tall frame dressed in black clothing similar to Mei Mei's.

And a handsome face, partially obscured by bandages wrapped around his eyes.

It was him.

Gojo Satoru.

The strongest sorcerer.

One of the central figures of this world.

As Gojo approached, Mei Mei stepped out of the car and motioned for Shingen to follow.

With his hands in his pockets, Gojo leaned down slightly, examining him.

Shingen met his gaze—or rather, the bandages covering his eyes—fully aware that they didn't hinder his vision in the slightest.

Straightening up, Gojo stroked his chin thoughtfully.

"Interesting… So your name is Tokiya Shingen? You've got an impressive amount of cursed energy. And without any training, you've already figured out how to suppress it and use it to some extent… Not bad. Not bad at all."

Then he smiled.

"Can I see your technique?"

Shingen feigned confusion.

"Technique? You mean my… superpower?"

Gojo snapped his fingers, grinning.

"That's right. The thing you were born with. Show me."

Then—

He removed the bandages.

Revealing those brilliant blue eyes.

The legendary Six Eyes.

Eyes that could perceive the flow of cursed energy—and even the nature of techniques.

Under that gaze, Shingen took a deep breath.

And activated his ability.

No—

His technique.

The world slowed.

Time itself seemed to stretch.

Looking up, he saw Gojo still watching him—eyes filled with faint surprise.

As Shingen moved around, Gojo's gaze followed him effortlessly.

It was the first time Shingen had encountered someone who could keep up with him in this state.

Mei Mei, however, was clearly less perceptive.

After the demonstration, she asked curiously:

"Well? Satoru, is his technique just accelerating his movement? I couldn't really see it clearly."

Gojo closed his eyes, thinking.

"No… it's not that simple. I can't say for sure yet, but…"

A smile spread across his face.

"It's very interesting."

Mei Mei grew even more intrigued.

After all, there weren't many things that could capture Gojo's interest like this.

With his immense cursed energy and unknown technique…

Could he one day become another Special Grade?

Gojo suddenly broke into a bright grin and crouched down.

"Shingen… you've awakened your technique. You're not an ordinary person anymore."

"You're like me. Like her."

"There's a school for people like us."

"It's a fun place—and they'll teach you how to use your 'superpower.' So? Want to join us?"

Mei Mei sighed from the side.

"Satoru, could you stop sounding like you're trying to kidnap a child? And… jujutsu high schools don't accept kids this young."

Gojo rubbed his chin.

"He's already awakened a technique. Leaving him out here is dangerous. If a curse user targets him, it'll be trouble…"

Then—

"I've got it."

"We need to get him out of the orphanage first. Otherwise, if curse users find him, the whole place could be dragged into danger."

Frowning slightly, Gojo looked at Shingen.

He knew the boy understood.

Shingen hesitated, then asked:

"…So what should I do?"

Gojo laughed and waved his hand.

"Relax, relax! As long as you understand, it's fine. I'll have someone handle the adoption process. The Gojo family can easily take care of one kid."

He rewrapped his bandages.

"We can't stay here forever. This isn't a safe place for you. How about this—I'll take you somewhere first."

Shingen nodded.

Then—

Gojo suddenly leaned in, putting on a mischievous expression.

"Actually, we're bad guys. We're here to kidnap you."

Shingen stared at him—

Completely unimpressed.

Even slightly disgusted.

Gojo burst into laughter.

Mei Mei simply smiled.

Satoru really did have a childish side.

Without any visible effort, Gojo placed a hand on the back of Shingen's neck and lifted him effortlessly.

"We're heading out," he said to Mei Mei.

"Don't forget my payment," she replied.

In the next instant—

The world blurred.

Everything shifted.

And before he could process it—

Tokiya Shingen found himself in a completely unfamiliar place.
