Chapter 77 - Chapter 77 - The Phone Call

"This counterattack should have a wider motion. Yang's weapon is mechanical gauntlets—according to the setting, they rely on the explosive force of bullets to deliver punches with immense power. At the very least, it should feel like the destructive force of a tank shell."

"Yang's opponents are the red-and-blue sister duo from the underworld—Miltia Malachite and Melanie Malachite. The former uses bladed claws, while the latter fights with bladed high heels. In the original work, the sisters had excellent coordination, but because Miltia exited early, it wasn't fully demonstrated. Melanie's dance-like feint battle with Yang is one of the highlights of this promotional animation. Ah… it used to look good to me, but now it's full of flaws. This section of the action framework needs a major overhaul."

Kamiyā Yuu frowned as he leaned back, staring blankly at the white ceiling. In his mind, multiple figures repeatedly reenacted the action framework he had constructed in his consciousness space. Once a particular sequence was finalized, he picked up a pencil from the animation desk and roughly sketched out the storyboard outline, adding notes beside it for special effects and camera work.

He wasn't drawing detailed storyboards yet, but rather a rough overall outline. Only after completing the entire outline could Kamiyā Yuu refine it into proper storyboard drafts. This stage tested his patience immensely, requiring him to repeatedly organize his ideas, refining their structure, visual flow, and clarity.

After a long while, once this portion of the outline was complete, Kamiyā Yuu moved on to thinking about the next part of the plot and its general framework.

"The final boss will be the gang leader—the unlucky guy Yang flirted with. In the original promotional animation, he was just a punching bag. I can redesign this character, further enhancing his combat ability. Turning an RPG into a baseball bat is too tacky… what about a hammer? It could symbolize an overwhelming, explosive force. A hammer as a weapon feels a bit similar to Vita from 'Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha'. Actually, the Belkan-style magic in 'Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha' shares quite a few similarities with 'RWBY's' power system."

"Then let's go with a rocket-powered hammer similar to Vita's. In terms of setting, its explosive power will surpass Yang's mechanical gauntlets, completely overwhelming her in all aspects."

"Yang's first stage enemies are multiple gang members, mainly armed with guns and axes. The battle will be a one-sided domination, fully showcasing the characteristics of 'RWBY's' power system. The second stage is the red-and-blue sisters—this fight is the hardest to finalize in terms of style, and also the most exciting part of the entire piece. The third stage is when the unlucky gang leader appears. This part focuses more on special effects and cinematography, ending with Yang's hair being cut, triggering a berserk power-up."

Suddenly, the phone on the table began to vibrate.

"Red like roses fills my dreams...."

The theme song 'Red—Crescent Rose', set as his ringtone, rang out, disrupting the outline forming in Kamiyā Yuu's mind. Slightly irritated yet helpless, he picked up his phone. There were only a few contacts in it—he already knew who would be calling at a time like this.

Morishita Aoi.

"Aoi, what is it?" Kamiyā Yuu said, biting the end of his pencil as he spoke indistinctly. Morishita Aoi wouldn't call him for no reason.

"All five computers have arrived. If you're free, could you come over?" Morishita Aoi calmly reported her progress.

Kamiyā Yuu had instructed her to prioritize acquiring the computers. Once they were ready, he would need time to set up their systems, install security measures, and add software like MAYA for 3D modeling. If everything else was completed first and the computers only arrived later, additional time would be wasted on setup. To avoid that, he had asked her to handle the workspace and computers first.

Kamiyā Yuu set down his pencil, raising an eyebrow. "That doesn't sound like it's just about the computers."

Normally, Morishita Aoi would simply inform him rather than ask him to come in person.

Morishita Aoi replied calmly, "Director Yūki is with me right now. She wants to speak with you face-to-face."

"Then I definitely need to go. What's the address?"

"Subway Line 4, Hegu Station. I'll wait for you at Exit 3."

"Got it."

After hanging up, Kamiyā Yuu patted his face, tossed aside the pencil, and organized the drafts on his desk. If that young 3D director joined his studio, the pressure on him regarding 3D modeling would be reduced by at least half. That would give him more time to refine the details of 'Yellow—Ashen Paradise'.

He glanced around the room. It was still his old room, but the layout had changed significantly. Most noticeably, the bed was gone. The former bedroom had been converted into his personal office, while he now shared a bedroom with Kamiyā Sora.

He placed his laptop into his briefcase, checked that nothing was missing, and then closed the door.

Click.

Kamiyā Yuu opened the bedroom door and saw Kamiyā Sora lying on the soft, fluffy carpet, watching videos on her laptop.

"Sora, I'm heading out."

"Where to?" Kamiyā Sora rested her head on a cushion and looked back at him, her lazy demeanor resembling a languid white cat.

"Aoi said the computers have arrived. She's also introducing me to a new member of the studio."

Kamiyā Sora thought for a moment, then stood up and smiled playfully. "Then I'm coming too. I want to meet your colleague."

"Sure."

"Yuu, help me get dressed."

"Yes, yes. As you command, my princess." Kamiyā Yuu shook his head with a smile and set down his briefcase.

Kamiyā Sora chose the classical Western-style black dress and white blouse they had bought at the mall last time. After tying the black ribbon at her collar, Kamiyā Yuu looked at the result with satisfaction. She now resembled an elegant noble lady from the Victorian era—her cool expression and long silver hair cascading to her waist making her look like a delicate, lifelike doll untouched by the mundane world.

"Wait, there's more." Kamiyā Sora took out a pair of folded black thigh-high stockings from the cabinet and sat on the bed.

She carefully smoothed the fabric before slipping it on, the dark material gradually covering her slender legs. The contrast between the soft sheen of the stockings and her fair skin created a refined, graceful look.

For a moment, Kamiyā Yuu found himself at a loss for words.

"Yuu, help me." Noticing his gaze, Kamiyā Sora smiled with a hint of playful satisfaction. She handed him the other stocking and lightly lifted her leg, gesturing for his help.
