Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: What Is It Like to Be Beaten Up by Mordred?

Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash were woken up.

Although still very sleepy, the two entered their state within a few seconds.

After all, having already experienced the previous Singularities, their reactions were fast enough.

While following behind Daniel and the others, Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash learned of the current situation from them.

"So, we are now on our way to a head-on collision with the Knights of the Round Table?" Cold sweat began to break out on Fujimaru Ritsuka's forehead. "Under such unprepared circumstances?"

"It's an emergency, after all; where would there be time for you to prepare?" Daniel shrugged and replied.

Since the opponents were the Knights of the Round Table and none of them were weak, everyone's traveling speed wasn't very fast, in order to preserve some physical strength to fight the Knights of the Round Table and the Purification Knights later.

To avoid arriving at the destination only for their physical strength and combat power to be mostly depleted first.

That wouldn't be going to the rescue, but going to one's death.

"Arash, have you seen clearly who the leading Knight of the Round Table is?" Da Vinci asked Arash, who was leading the way at the very front.

"It's Agravain." Arash's tone was somewhat suspicious. "Although I don't quite understand why Agravain, who usually stays inside the Holy City and doesn't move around much outside, would personally lead the team, with that Knight of the Round Table there, nothing good will definitely happen."

"Only one Knight of the Round Table?" Daniel's intuition immediately began to sound an alarm.

"Yes, the rest are basically the Purification Knights under his command." Arash nodded and replied.

"But even if there is only one Knight of the Round Table, Agravain, Serenity is no match for him." Hassan-i-Sabbah explained from the side.

"Something's not right! Agravain is not a character who acts on impulse! There must be a big scheme here!" Daniel suddenly stopped and shouted, "Could it be... damn it! Hassan-i-Sabbah, please take Fujimaru Ritsuka, Mash, and Da Vinci and continue toward the West Village. Sanzang, Bedivere, and Arash, we're going back!"

"This is very likely Agravain's plan to'striking the mountain to shake the tiger' and 'making a feint to the east while attacking the west'! Other Knights of the Round Table might have already discovered traces of our movement somewhere and followed the source of our path to find the Mountain Village guarded by Hassan-i-Sabbah!"

Hassan-i-Sabbah's footsteps faltered. He looked back at Daniel and the traces left behind by their hurried journey, and nodded heavily.

"We cannot rule out that possibility... Lord Arash, Lord Daniel, Lord Bedivere, and Lord Sanzang, the safety of the Mountain Village and the peace of the Temple are in your hands."

Carrying anxiety and vacillation, Hassan-i-Sabbah's traveling speed began to increase.

Meanwhile, Daniel led the other three back the way they came.

Coincidentally, as they were about to reach the hidden mountain path of the Mountain Village, Daniel and the others encountered the Knights of the Round Table.

"Tsk, it seems Agravain's plan was noticed by you." The hot-tempered Mordred clicked her tongue at Daniel, and her sword immediately left its scabbard.

"It is truly sad." Tristan turned his face, eyes closed, toward Bedivere. "Although I heard that you had appeared and thought that the two of us would cross swords, I didn't expect this moment to come so soon."

"Sir Tristan, Sir Mordred." Bedivere's face was somewhat pale.

But fortunately, Sir Gawain was not there; that was considered good news.

"Arash, I'll leave Tristan to you. Watch out for his Arrows of Sound." Daniel manifested Gareth's set and then turned his gaze toward Mordred. "I'll temporarily stall Mo; I'll leave those Purification Knights to Sanzang and Bedivere to deal with as quickly as possible."

He hoped Gawain really didn't come, and he also hoped Lancelot still remembered the agreement and wouldn't be climbing the mountain on the other side to raise his slaughtering blade against the civilians of the Mountain Village.

"Ha? Stall me? Daniel, aren't you overestimating yourself?" Mordred took off her helmet, revealing her pretty face with an expression of mockery and ridicule.

"It's just for a temporary stall." Daniel took a deep breath to steady his mindset. "Although I can't fully exert Gareth's combat power, I still have the ability to hold out for a few more moves under your hand without dying."

"Tsk." Mordred's face instantly darkened.

"Then die right here!"

Directly abandoning the Purification Knights and Tristan behind her, Mordred rode her horse, holding the radiant kings sword high, and slashed toward Daniel.

Steady and solid?

Since when did Mordred have such a knightly fighting style?

Daniel indicated that he wouldn't believe Mordred's nonsense.

This person's way of fighting never stuck to being fair and square; she basically used whatever method worked.

Even if it was a street brawl style, she wouldn't mind using it at all.

Ask yourself, when a knight with violent strength holding a knightly greatsword is charging at you on a horse, and you are holding a lance, what would be your first reaction?

Answer: stab that horse first!

The difference between having a horse and not having a horse is too big!

With this acceleration plus Mordred's own strength, if he really took it head-on, he feared he would be sent flying.

So Daniel's first reaction was to roll to avoid Mordred's sword, and then, taking advantage of the half-second gap she left while trying to pull a dirty trick, he stabbed through the head of the horse under her with his lance.

Her lower body became unstable, so her dirty trick naturally couldn't be executed, and she herself fell forward onto the ground.

Her sword, which she had originally tossed up to switch hands, also fell from mid-air and landed beside her head.

The atmosphere instantly became silent.

But Daniel didn't dare give her more than a few seconds of reaction time, continuing to launch a fierce attack against her.

He had to break her rhythm.

Otherwise, once she reacted, the one without time to reorganize their posture for a counterattack would be him.

"Fuck!" Mordred jumped up from the ground in exasperation, the kings sword already back in her hand.

Daniel's attack missed.

Not only that, but she also used her exceptionally brilliant brawling experience to kick Daniel away from behind and turned on the spot to slash toward the back of Daniel's neck.

The gap in combat experience was instantly highlighted.

And the difficulty of dealing with a Mordred who was no longer holding back was indeed displayed before Daniel.

The rain-like offensive left Daniel somewhat unable to cope.

Coupled with occasional changes in moves and dirty tricks, after only two or three exchanges, Daniel directly fell into a disadvantage, even facing the danger of losing his life at any moment.

"What's wrong? No way? No way? You only have this level of skill! Ha! And you still boasted about stalling me for a while? Go train for another few hundred years first! Weakling!" Mordred spoke violent words with a look of disdain, but her eyes were flickering incessantly.
