He was standing on the pavement two blocks from the train station with his bag over one shoulder and the cold evening air around him and Petra's voice coming through the phone with the careful, measured quality of someone delivering information they had been instructed to deliver precisely.
"Mr. Hale has called an emergency shareholder consultation," she said. "Informal, not on the public calendar. Twelve people. Six are Draxen Global minority shareholders. The agenda is a no-confidence motion against the current infrastructure division leadership."
"On what grounds."
"Governance concerns. Specifically, an undisclosed personal relationship between the CEO and a direct report, and the alleged suppression of an internal disclosure violation." A pause. "He has documentation. We don't know the full scope, but Riven believes Lysandra gave him more than what was on the drive she returned to you."
