Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Another plate!

...

"What a poor child!"

After hearing Son Goku's answer, Gabriella's eyes were already a little red.

He was abandoned by his parents because he grew a tail, then picked up by an old man and raised in a mountain called Mount Paozu.

After the old man passed away, the child became an orphan and started wandering, going from one hungry meal to the next.

The so-called cultivation was probably just wandering.

Looking at how dirty he was, and his hair was so long and unkempt, standing straight up—if he wasn't a homeless child, then what was he?

At this moment, she had already imagined Son Goku's pitiful background and experiences.

"When we get to the west side of the city later, Auntie will treat you to some barbecue."

Gabriella secretly decided to adopt the wandering orphan Son Goku and take him to live in the Mutant gathering place.

Son Goku had no parents, wandered here, and even offended the Institute because of them.

If he stayed here, it would be a dead end.

Only by following them to the Mutant gathering place could he live a good life.

It just so happened that the children there were all Mutants, and they were of similar age, so they could play together.

"Mm, mm, mm."

Upon hearing there was barbecue to eat, Son Goku immediately nodded like a chick pecking at rice.

He often roasted tigers, wolves, and dinosaurs to eat on the mountain, but because there were no seasonings, the taste was definitely not as good as in the city.

He still missed the food Master Roshi would take them to eat at the town restaurant when he was training with Grandpa Master Roshi.

Gabriella tried her best to avoid roads with surveillance, driving along remote paths toward her boyfriend's home on the west side of the city.

The power behind the Institute was enormous, and she had to be careful.

"So you're a girl."

In the back seat, Son Goku examined the silent X-23 sitting next to him, reaching out to pat her lower body.

Laura tilted her head, not understanding why the other person knew she was a girl just by patting her a few times.

She didn't sense any malice from him, so she didn't counterattack.

Gabriella, who happened to see this scene through the rearview mirror, almost slammed on the brakes.

"Son, you can't tell if someone is a girl like that; it's too impolite!"

"Then how do you tell?"

"I know that if their butt is on their chest, they must be a girl, just like you, Auntie."

"But some girls don't have their butts on their chests."

"So Grandpa told me that if they don't have a little JJ and balls, they're a girl."

Son Goku replied with a serious face.

He had always identified them this way and had never been wrong.

However, Bulma seemed to have told him before not to use this method to identify them, but he never understood why.

It was just a pat, and he didn't even use force; he used to kick them twice to confirm.

Gabriella's mouth twitched violently upon hearing this. She wanted to tell Son Goku that he could judge by the length of their hair.

But after thinking about it, that didn't seem very standard either, as many men had long hair and many women had short hair.

She also thought about facial features; girls' features were softer, while boys' were more angular.

However, that didn't seem 100% certain either.

Because men with feminine looks and women with masculine looks, as well as cross-dressers, were quite common in modern society.

After thinking it over, it seemed that Son Goku's method was the only one that could determine gender 100%.

"Anyway, don't do that again. You'll understand when you grow up a bit more."

She realized that this Mutant boy with a tail, Goku, seemed very innocent, just as innocent as Laura.

Laura was innocent because she grew up in the Institute, with no childhood other than being trained to kill every day.

And Son Goku was so innocent because, she felt, he grew up in the mountains.

"Son, how old are you?"

"Twelve."

Son Goku thought for a moment and replied.

He originally thought that after eleven came fourteen, but after learning arithmetic from Grandpa Master Roshi, he knew that after eleven came twelve.

So he was twelve this year.

"One year older than Laura."

Gabriella nodded.

A normal twelve-year-old child would understand everything.

If she didn't know Son Goku came from the mountains and that his eyes were exceptionally clear, she would have really suspected he was a little pervert.

Not long after Gabriella and the others left the alley, over a dozen off-road vehicles slammed to a halt on the street outside the alley.

Nearly a hundred fully armed mercenaries, led by the Commander, rushed into the alley with various heavy weapons.

"A bunch of trash!"

Seeing the seven or eight big men lying on the ground unconscious, the Commander couldn't help but curse out loud.

"You, take a team and check the nearby surveillance."

"You, take a team to search Gabriella's house."

"You, take a small team to the border entrance to prevent them from escaping across the border."

Although they were a step late, he still organized things methodically.

In his view, with just the two of them, it would be very difficult to escape their blockade, and catching them was only a matter of time.

Moreover, he had threatened Gabriella's contact, Wolverine, and bribed Gabriella's boyfriend.

"You two eat breakfast here first; I'm going up to take care of something and will be right back down."

Arriving downstairs at her boyfriend's place, Gabriella first dropped off Son Goku and Laura at a familiar Mexican barbecue restaurant downstairs.

She needed to go up and borrow some money from her boyfriend.

The meeting place she had agreed upon with the escaped Mutant children was at the northern border, at Eden, the Mutant gathering place from the X-Men comics.

Due to the disappearance of Mutants and the deliberate interference and cover-up by various governments.

Most ordinary people now thought Mutants were fictional creations from comics, and didn't know that the Mutant organization, the X-Men, had once really existed.

They had erased the harm caused by Mutants and the past contributions of the X-Men.

But working at the Institute, she knew that most of those things were true.

Of course, Eden, the Mutant gathering place in the comics, was fake; Mutants had long since disappeared, so there was no such gathering place.

She just wanted to cross the border from there into Canada.

She had already made an agreement with the relevant Canadian departments that as long as she could bring the children across the border before Friday.

The relevant Canadian departments would receive these Mutant children there and let them live a normal life.

"Eat! Eat!"

Smelling the aroma of the barbecue in the shop, Son Goku almost drooled and hurriedly nodded.

The X-23, Laura, also nodded, sitting obediently in her seat and playing with her toy ball.

"Gin, these are children of my relatives. Could you get them some barbecue rice and drinks? I'll come down in a moment to settle the bill."

Gabriella greeted the bearded owner and hurried upstairs.

The bearded owner made an "OK" gesture, quickly prepared two plates of barbecue rice, and placed two glasses of milk in front of Son Goku and the X-23.

However, just as he put down the plates and hadn't walked a few steps away, he heard the boy behind him shout:

"Another plate!"
