"I think this is the time for us to act," Alex said, leaning over the table as he sipped his orange juice. He kept his voice low and intimate. "Just came from a meeting with Tony, he said Cosgrove is moving his shipment to a secondary location. I am planning to intercept it while in transit and blow it up. He loses his money, he loses his power."
Victoria's eyes drifted from him to the rest of the room, scanning for anyone eavesdropping on their conversation but everyone else was too busy with their own conversations to notice them.
The high-end restaurant in Midtown was the place to go for a lunch date and official lunch meeting. Everyone in there was either planning how to survive or how to overthrow.
She leaned over the table as well, her face inches from his. "Are you okay?" she whispered in a sharp voice. "Do you want to get yourself killed?"
"No one is getting killed," Alex countered "If we don't act now, we risk being a victim of Cosgrove's bloodshed when the time comes."
