Chapter 18 - AFTERMATH AGAIN

7 years and 11 months old btw—

Saturo woke up for the nth time.

He noticed something strange. Even though there was complete darkness in his eyes and he technically couldn't see, he could still somehow sense the layout of the room—through his senses, or perhaps his eyes.

Saturo:

"Uh… hello? Is there someone here? Hello…?"

Cynthia came inside, asking if her friend was okay. He was her only friend, because Caitlin had been sent to a psychic school, and the other kids her age wouldn't play with her. Boys said they didn't want to play with girls, and the girls wanted to play boring games like house-house.

Cynthia:

"Are you okay, dumbass? How many times have I told you to take care of yourself?"

Saturo:

"Don't worry, Cynthia. But can you tell me why the hell my eyes are covered so tightly, and why my head hurts so much?"

(A small change: when he uses draconic aura, his eyes turn red.)

Nurse Joy came into the room and started instructing Saturo on what he should do to prevent such outbursts of aura and energy.

She knew that the burning in his eyes was an unusual symptom, but she just chalked it up to him being a psychic, since psychics are unusual people in the first place.

Then a Blissey visited them and started apologizing for hitting Saturo with Mega Punch. As an apology, she promised that she would personally visit them—or send a helper—to oversee the situation from time to time.

Saturo didn't take it to heart, because it was his problem to begin with. So he apologized as well and accepted Blissey's apology.

Cynthia's grandmother finally arrived.

Cynthia's Grandmother:

"Hey kid, I told you—I warned you to stop messing around in the house and not go on those wild adventures in the woods. Now see what happened. Good thing Cynthia is sleeping at home."

Both Cynthia and Saturo started laughing.

Cynthia's Grandmother:

"That was supposed to be an insult."

Cynthia, who was hiding below the bed, was giggling.

Saturo:

"Well, we take it as a compliment."

He emphasized the we.

Cynthia froze.

Completely.

Like she had turned to stone from betrayal.

After that, Cynthia and her grandmother had a pleasant chat for a while.

Then Cynthia helped Saturo, who was blindfolded. He had been told not to open his eyes for the next few days.

Of course, being as rebellious as he was, he eventually took off the blindfold for a second and opened his eyes.

The pain he felt instantly made him obedient.

Of course, he didn't want to be mocked by a blonde-haired girl who was both tense and laughing at his misfortune.

Cynthia:

"Well, we have a blind man in the house. I didn't expect someone to need a wooden stick just to move around before my own grandmother."

Saturo wanted to retort, but he didn't have any ammunition, while his enemy had a whole machine gun.

He could only sigh as a Gible chewed on his hand and Beldum supported him.

Of course, they were also holding back their laughter… as he could hear their thoughts just fine.

Then he grabbed the Gible and placed her on his head.

Escanor moved closer to support him, and Rem climbed onto his shoulders.

Cynthia:

"That's not fair—you get all of them. Let me have my Gible."

She spread her arms wide open, waiting for Gible to jump into them like a dramatic embrace.

Gible, however, was busy chewing on Saturo's head.

Cynthia started laughing.

"Well, you got what you deserved."

"Woof!"

Ace grabbed Cynthia by the back of her collar and lifted her onto his back.

Cynthia:

"Oh my, Ace is still the best boy forever."

Ace's tail wagged as he turned his head and licked Cynthia on the face.

Cynthia:

"Ohhh, who's a good boy?"

Ace:

"Woof." (It's me, of course.)

Cynthia:

"Of course it's Ace".

Saturo : "hey Ace don't just stand there and help me I can't see anything. "

Just as Ace was about to help Saturo, a glare from Cynthia stopped him dead in his tracks. He immediately started pretending like he couldn't see anything.

Saturo:

"Cynthia, come on—just let me go for once. I literally can't see

anything."(Even though he could partially see through the blindfold.)

Cynthia:

"Well, snitches get stitches."(She then added sarcastically,)."You know what? Now I'll make you play those boring games you told me I should play with the other girls. What were they called again?"

Saturo gulped.

He already knew—his life was about to become hell.

Gible's name: ________

(It's a girl, by the way—I researched it, of course.)
