Chapter 81 - Home Isn't Quiet Anymore

Scene 1: Ayaan in the Kitchen (Yes, Really)

Anaya stood at the doorway—

watching.

Ayaan was in the kitchen.

Cooking.

Not delegating.

Not ordering.

Actually cooking.

"…I feel like I walked into the wrong house," she said.

Ayaan didn't turn.

"You're early."

Anaya crossed her arms, smiling.

"No, I'm on time. You're… unexpected."

Ayaan glanced back briefly.

"Sit."

Anaya raised an eyebrow.

"Is that a request or an order?"

Ayaan:

"Suggestion."

She laughed softly and sat anyway.

Scene 2: Soft Moments, No Barriers

The kitchen filled with quiet sounds—

and something lighter.

For once—

no tension.

No "almost."

Just ease.

Anaya watched him.

"You cook?"

Ayaan:

"When needed."

Anaya:

"And I'm 'needed'?"

Ayaan paused for a second.

Then, without looking at her—

"Yes."

Silence.

But warm this time.

Anaya smiled—

genuinely.

Later—

they sat together, eating.

Not formal.

Not distant.

Close.

Laughing over something small.

Something unimportant.

And that's what made it important.

Scene 3: Mahi & Ishaan — A Different Kind of Evening

Shopping bags in hand—

Mahi walked beside Ishaan.

"You didn't have to carry everything."

Ishaan:

"You didn't have to buy everything."

Mahi:

"I didn't buy everything."

A pause.

"…Just most of it."

Ishaan didn't argue.

Because he didn't mind.

They walked slower than needed.

Not rushing home.

Dinner had been quiet.

Comfortable.

No pressure to say anything more.

Because both already knew.

Mahi glanced at him.

"You're different today."

Ishaan:

"How?"

Mahi smiled slightly.

"…You stayed longer."

Ishaan looked at her.

"…I told you. I would."

And this time—

it didn't feel like a statement.

It felt like a promise.

Scene 4: Chaos on Two Wheels (Again)

Kriti hopped off the bike.

"…I survived again."

Aditya:

"Barely."

Kriti:

"You're not supportive."

Aditya:

"You're dramatic."

Kriti:

"That's personality."

She walked ahead—

then turned suddenly.

"…Today was nice."

Aditya paused.

"…It was normal."

Kriti:

"For you. For me, this is emotional growth."

Aditya:

"That's concerning."

Kriti:

"I'm serious."

A small pause.

Then softer—

"…I'm glad I was with you."

Aditya didn't respond immediately.

But his expression changed—

just slightly.

"…Good."

That was enough for her.

Scene 5: The "Empty" House

Mahi unlocked the door.

"…I think no one's home."

Ishaan stepped in behind her.

Quiet.

Calm.

For a second—

it felt like they had the space to themselves.

Mahi placed the bags down.

Turned—

And froze.

Scene 6: Caught

Ayaan and Anaya were there.

Sitting together.

Too close to be explained casually.

Mahi blinked.

"…Oh."

Ishaan didn't move.

Just observed.

Ayaan looked at them.

Then—

without saying a word—

gestured with his hand.

Come here.

Clear.

Unavoidable.

Anaya looked away—

trying not to smile.

Mahi whispered—

"…This is awkward."

Ishaan:

"…Yes."

But neither of them left.

Scene 7: Everyone Knows

Kriti walked in next—

still talking—

"…and I'm telling you, if I ever ride that again, I deserve—"

She stopped.

Looked at the room.

Looked at everyone.

"…Why does this feel like a meeting I wasn't invited to?"

Aditya walked in behind her.

Took one look.

"…This explains a lot."

Kriti pointed randomly.

"…I don't understand what's happening, but I support it."

Anaya laughed softly.

Ayaan didn't deny anything.

Didn't explain either.

Because there was nothing left to hide.

Final Scene: Not Quiet Anymore

The house wasn't quiet anymore.

Not like before.

Now—

it was filled with:

laughter

awkward pauses

knowing looks

Ayaan sat beside Anaya—

no distance left.

Mahi stood near Ishaan—

no hesitation left.

Kriti talked too much—

as always.

And Aditya—

listened.

As always.

It wasn't just a house anymore—

it was everything they hadn't said before…

finally living in the open.
