Jay POV:
It had been five hours since our baby came into this world.
He was sleeping peacefully on my chest while Keifer and I admired him silently.
Kuya had gone to complete some paperwork.
Tita wasn't feeling well, so she left with Aries.
"Keif, what should we name him?" I asked softly.
"I already decided," he said proudly as he carefully scooped the baby into his arms.
Our baby slowly opened his eyes and looked at Keifer for the very first time.
Keifer froze.
Then suddenly, our baby smiled.
Keifer looked at me with a shocked expression.
"Hey, Caretaker," he said proudly.
I frowned in confusion. "What caretaker?"
Before he could answer properly, the baby started crying loudly.
I quickly took him back into my arms.
"See? Even he doesn't like that name," I teased before kissing our baby's cheek.
He immediately stopped crying and stared at me quietly.
"His name is Mark Kaithan Watson," I said softly. "But we'll call him Kaith.
Keifer smiled warmly. "Yeah… it's perfect. But Caretaker is still a cool nickname."
Kaith started crying again.
I laughed. "See? He disagrees with you."
And just like that, our first day as parents went by with laughter, teasing, and love.
—
One week later, I was finally discharged from the hospital.
We came home with our little baby boy.
"Peace," I sighed dramatically as I dropped onto the sofa while Kaith looked around curiously.
Since it was already late at night, we changed into comfortable clothes and laid down together.
Kaith stayed between us, staring at both of our faces before happily kicking his tiny hands and legs in the air.
Keifer and I chuckled softly and kissed his cheeks.
After making him sleep, I carefully placed him in his crib before crawling back into Keifer's arms.
That night, I fell asleep feeling safer than I ever had in my entire life.
—
I woke up in the middle of the night when I heard Kaith crying.
As I opened my eyes, I saw Keifer already awake, gently carrying him in his arms.
"You sleep," he whispered softly before walking around the room with him.
I stayed there quietly, watching them.
A few minutes later, Kaith fell asleep against Keifer's chest.
Keifer carefully placed him back into the crib before laying beside me again.
And together, we drifted back to sleep.
—
Five years later…
Today is our fifth wedding anniversary.
"Dada! Catch me!" Kaira shouted while running around the living room.
Our little princess was already two years old.
When she was born, Kaith was only three. I was scared I wouldn't be able to handle two children, but Keifer stayed beside me through everything and never let me feel alone.
Now Kaith was five years old and extremely protective of his little sister.
When Kaira was born, he didn't even let Keifer hold her immediately.
"Sanitize your hands first before touching my sister," he had said seriously.
"Mama, look! I made this!" Kaith said proudly while showing me his drawing.
It was a picture of our family—me, Keifer, Kaith, and Kaira.
"Dada, me and Kuya didn't hide snacks here," Kaira said innocently.
Kaith's eyes widened. "Why you tell Dada?!"
"I didn't tell him anything," Kaira defended herself cutely.
Kaira had my face and stubbornness.
Kaith had Keifer's sharp features, cold aura, and temper.
"Darling," Keifer whispered while wrapping his arms around my waist, "I already booked a hotel room, and I talked to Tita. She'll handle the kids tonight and your are all mine tonight ."
"As you say, Mr. Watson," I teased before kissing him softly.
He kissed me back immediately.
"Ewww!" Kaith shouted dramatically.
Kaira crossed her tiny arms and pouted. "Dada is only mine."
Keifer laughed before scooping her into his arms.
"I'm your Dada forever, princess," he said before looking at me lovingly, "but your mama owns my heart."
I lightly hit his chest while blushing.
"Dada, me too!" Kaith complained.
Keifer lifted him up as well.
"I love you, Dada and Mama," both of them said together.
Keifer and I kissed their cheeks at the same time.
As I looked at my children laughing happily in front of me, I smiled softly.
Life was so different now.
Years ago, Keifer and I were stuck in marriages we never wanted. He was married to Ion, and I was married to Yuri.
Back then, both of us thought our lives would stay like that forever
But slowly, everything changed. And now, here we were.
Living together peacefully.
Raising our children together.
Laughing over small things every day.
Kaith was running around the house while Kaira followed him with her tiny steps.
"Dada! Kuya stole my chocolate!" Kaira complained.
"I did not!" Kaith shouted back immediately.
Keifer laughed and pulled both of them closer while I watched them quietly.
Sometimes, I still couldn't believe this is my life.
Not perfect.
Not like a fairytale.
But warm, peaceful, and real.
Keifer walked toward me and wrapped one arm around my waist.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked softly.
I looked at him and smiled.
"Nothing," I replied. "I'm just happy."
He kissed my forehead gently before looking at our children.
And at that moment, with my family beside me, I realized something—
Maybe life doesn't always give us the love story we planned.
Sometimes, it gives us something unexpected.
Something better.
And honestly…
I wouldn't change anything about it.
