Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Overwatch

"In fact, I am Iron Man!"

Seeing this, Ronin turned off the TV and finally confirmed what kind of world this was.

Overall, this was the Marvel universe of gods and demons battling it out, but it also felt like the bizarre and eerie world of Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. All sorts of weird people and events were about to come one after another.

And right now, the world's first superhero had just been born: the extremely arrogant Tony Stark, Iron Man!

Strictly speaking, he was the second one Captain America came first but Cap was still frozen deep in the ocean, unknown to the world.

After today, newspapers would go crazy spreading the news, and Iron Man's fame would completely overshadow the virtual hero created by Overwatch Pictures: Soldier: 76!

After all these days, Ronin had happily accepted his new identity as the CEO of Overwatch Pictures!

Lying on the sofa, he took a sip of strong tea. The bitterness helped sharpen his slightly tired mind.

As a transmigrator, he didn't have any special powers. Compared to those protagonists who started as losers but got powerful golden fingers (cheats), his only real advantage was his starting point.

He wasn't a loser or a poor guy he was a domineering CEO with hundreds of billions in assets.

Though "domineering CEO" sounded more like something from a Mary Sue romance novel.

Looking at himself from head to toe, Ronin couldn't find a single trace of a typical CEO. He was wearing gray sweats, acting super casual like a laid back college student more than anything.

When it came to arrogance, though, he could definitely go toe to toe with Iron Man.

Besides handing over a movie script every six months, Ronin refused to step foot in the company.

Compared to the "tedious work" of just sitting in an office with the AC blasting, he much preferred staying in his coastal villa, enjoying the sea breeze, listening to music, and playing games.

Sure enough, even after transmigrating, he couldn't shake his hardcore shut in nature.

His phone rang, but Ronin didn't answer. He hated being disturbed while pondering life.

At this moment, he had to think seriously about his own survival.

He wasn't like Iron Man. He didn't have any crazy superpowers like the other heroes. He was just an ordinary person a mortal who could get seriously hurt or killed by a single gunshot.

He had none of the standard transmigrator must haves: divine artifacts, cultivation techniques, or special bloodlines. All he had was a massive company and unparalleled movie scripts.

Before crossing over, his favorite game was Overwatch. After arriving here, he received the movie scripts for the entire Overwatch series. All he had to do was give the scripts to the company every six months. They would then use the best technology and hire the top actors to film them.

Half a year ago, Overwatch Pictures' breakout film Soldier: 76 smashed through $3 billion at the global box office and became a worldwide phenomenon. The lead actor, Hank Black, shot to superstardom because of it.

Soldier: 76 became the most talked about movie character on the planet and a superhero in the hearts of countless people truly a household name.

But ever since Iron Man appeared, Soldier: 76's popularity had been surpassed.

After all, Soldier: 76 was just a fictional character. You could only see his heroic feats on the big screen, while Iron Man was a real superhero who could protect the country.

Because Soldier: 76 set a new global box office record, Ronin enjoyed an extremely high reputation in the outside world. He was not only the CEO of Overwatch Pictures but also hailed as a genius screenwriter.

But to Ronin, all of that was just an illusion. When real danger came, money wouldn't protect you from harm. Only true personal strength could let him keep his position as president because he had no idea how many eyes were watching him hungrily from the shadows.

Fights over profit were always the quickest way to drag yourself into mortal danger.

Ronin had thought more than once that he still hadn't fully unlocked the mystery of Overwatch. Overwatch shouldn't just exist on screens it should appear in the Marvel world and fight against evil forces.

The phone rang again. It was his assistant, Ms. Brent.

She was a strong, capable businesswoman who kept everything running smoothly. She wouldn't call a second time unless it was truly urgent.

"Hello, Lucy. What's the emergency?"

A fluent English sentence came out of the mouth of a young man who, in his previous life, barely knew the English alphabet.

Ronin had been shocked at first, but now he was completely used to it. He was no longer the Luo Ning from his old world he was Ronin, the young president in the Marvel universe. His appearance hadn't changed much, just a bit paler with more defined features.

"Mr. Ronin, please come to the company immediately. Mr. Stark is here in person and wants to talk to you. He said he'll only wait ten minutes. If you don't show up, he'll leave a very special gift for the company."

Lucy spoke quickly, with a man's voice in the background speaking even faster.

"Ten minutes? No! I'll only wait five minutes. No one keeps me waiting that long, damn it!"

After hanging up, Ronin frowned slightly. What the hell did that tin can want with him? He'd been trying to contact him since yesterday, but Ronin had refused every time. Now the guy had shown up at his company in person.

He really didn't want to get involved with the world famous Iron Man his own power was still far too weak.

Getting close to superheroes only led to two outcomes: either you became a background character, or you got killed by one of their enemies.

But since it had come to this, he might as well go. Who knew what kind of "gift" Stark would leave behind?

He left the villa. His black driver, Thomas Oliver, was already waiting outside.

The sleek black sedan in front of him was a Rolls Royce Ronin only knew the brand. He didn't know anything else about cars. His only real interest was gaming. Otherwise, he wouldn't have played Overwatch hard enough to actually transmigrate.

The highest level of gaming was playing yourself into another world.

A magnificent building, no shorter than Stark Tower, stood tall in Manhattan, New York. The glowing Overwatch logo stood out proudly "OVERWATCH" boldly representing the company.

Ronin looked up. This was Overwatch Tower, headquarters of Overwatch Pictures.

The front entrance was missing, though...

"Everyone, please make way. Don't block the entrance."

The security guards quickly cleared the reporters when they saw the boss arrive.

These reporters had somehow gotten wind of the news. As soon as Tony Stark entered, a huge crowd of them showed up right after.

It was understandable if they could get an interview with Iron Man, their salaries would definitely get a nice boost.

Ronin walked forward as many microphones were thrust toward him.

He had expected this. He was usually as elusive as a dragon rarely seen. Interviewing this young, often homebody CEO would also be a big pay raise for them.

"I need to head inside first. Please cooperate. I'll probably come out with Mr. Stark later. Wouldn't it be better if you could interview us together?" Ronin said seriously.

The security guards pushed the reporters back. Thankfully, they were professional and made way.

He took the elevator straight to the 18th floor. As soon as he pushed open the door, he saw Tony Stark in a sharp suit, legs crossed, humming a tune while admiring the Soldier: 76 battle poster on the wall.
