Despite having witnessed the casual, soul-crushing cruelty of the World Nobles firsthand, the Straw Hats pressed onward through the groves of Sabaody.
After all, Even though they still couldn't believe exactly how a female marine of such a powerful position could behave in such a way and actually love it.
But they still had their own adventure to get on with.
The air felt heavier, the floating bubbles less whimsical, but their resolve remained.
Luffy bounced ahead with his usual energy, while Hatchan nervously guided them deeper into the island, warning them about the lawless interior groves.
After dealing with a few opportunistic bounty hunters dispatched easily by Luffy's stretching punches, Chopper's Heavy Point slams, and Brook's swift swordplay.
The group arrived at Grove 16.
Hatchan explained the layout Groves 1 through 29 formed the chaotic, lawless heart of the island where pirates and criminals roamed freely and also the place which was the most dangerous for everyone.
While the outer groves hosted the flashy entertainment and shopping districts which seemed safer but that was where all of the sneaky tactics were used.
They continued traveling until they reached Grove 13 and a lively bar rumored to be the haunt of the coating engineer they sought.
Inside, the atmosphere was thick with smoke and conversation.
They met Shakuyaku or Shakky for short. A sharp eyed woman with short dark hair and a laid back demeanor, a former pirate and old friend of Hatchan.
This acquaintance made the tension disappear immediately as the crew entered inside and fit in perfectly.
After warm greetings and introductions, Shakky revealed she had been following the Straw Hat's exploits closely.
She even shared stories of being chased by Garp during her own pirate days. Which interested the captain.
When asked about the coating engineer, Rayleigh, Shakky informed them he wasn't at the bar. He hadn't left the island but had been wandering the bars and casinos for half a year.
The group agreed to search for him, but Shakky warned them to be cautious.
With the Straw Hat's arrival, there were now eleven rookie pirates with bounties over 100,000,000 Beli who had reached the Red Line the Eleven Supernovas.
It meant that the bounty activity on this island was bound to rise along with the interference of marines too just increasing the risk even more.
Luffy ranked second-highest among them.
Shakky pointed out that most were gathered in Grove 24. She described them one by one with a knowing smirk.
Capone "Gang" Bege, a mafia style pirate who loved to smoke a cigar with a 138,000,000 Beli bounty, was dining nearby and stabbing one of his own crew with a fork for a minor warning.
Jewelry Bonney, the "Big Eater" with a 140,000,000 Beli bounty, devoured mountains of food at the same restaurant, demanding more despite the overwhelmed cooks.
In another section, "The Magician" Basil Hawkins 249,000,000 Beli ominously declared a spilled plate of spaghetti an unlucky omen for the victim.
Elsewhere in the grove, Eustass "Captain" Kid 315,000,000 Beli and "Roar of the Sea" Scratchmen Apoo 198,000,000 Beli were locked in a fierce brawl.
In Grove 21, The Mad Monk Urouge 108,000,000 Beli and the masked "Massacre Soldier" Killer 162,000,000 Beli nearly came to blows until "Red Flag" X Drake 222,000,000 Beli, a former Marine, intervened.
Finally, "Surgeon of Death" Trafalgar Law 200,000,000 Beli casually asked Drake how many people he had killed.
Shakky leaned back, sipping her drink.
"These pirates beyond this point are the best of the best. Kid only edges out Luffy's bounty because of civilian damage. I'm rooting for you Straw Hats, but stay sharp"
Luffy grinned, declaring he'd relax for now but was a bit worried about the engineer. Shakky reassured him that Rayleigh was far stronger than any rookie.
As the group absorbed the information and prepared to move toward Grove 24, a new tension sparked.
Jewelry Bonney, the pink haired Supernova with an enormous appetite and a fiery temper, noticed the Straw Hats lingering near her table.
The moment they made eye contact it was as if something unnaturally was forcing Bonney into doing something that she normally wouldn't do.
Something about Robin's calm, elegant demeanor and subtle observation of the rookies irritated the "Big Eater."
It actually was just Robin using her abilities to instigate a situation just like how she usually did it.
Bonney slammed her fork down, food still crammed in her cheeks.
"Hey, you tall dark-haired bitch in the dress"
Bonney growled in the most crude language as few pieces of food was falling out, pointing directly at Robin.
"You've been staring like you think you're better than everyone here. Think your crew's hot shit just because you've got a high bounty? I've got a challenge for you a little game to prove you're not all talk"
The Straw Hats tensed, but Robin met Bonney's gaze with a faint, intrigued smile.
This could be entertaining. She wanted to see just how the pink haired foodie would react by the sudden overwhelming annoyance that she must be feeling due to her abilities.
Bonney smirked viciously and laid out the "challenge" that she had planned as the moment the words left her mouth and reached Robin's ear she instantly felt her pussy ovulate within a second's gap.
Her crew chuckling around her due to the absurd demand that their captain had just made.
The goal was simple entertain Bonney and the watching Supernovas, That was their way of saying that only after performing this entertainment would the crew be allowed to leave without any trouble.
The strawhats of course weren't under any effect currently as they already got ready to fight with their typical pissed off faces that usually meant death of the opposite party.
However, Unfortunately for them. The woman that they were about to fight for suddenly transformed into a desperate masochistic slut the moment a blue floating panel appeared in front of her eyes.
