Do Jin followed Park Soo Jin down the long, pristine hallway of her luxurious villa. The sound of her high heels clicking sharply against the marble floor echoed in the silence. Every step she took was confident and commanding.
She didn't look back at him even once.
When they reached the study room, she pushed the door open and stepped inside. The room was massive — floor-to-ceiling bookshelves filled with law books, a large mahogany desk, and a sophisticated computer setup. One of the wall outlets near the desk was sparking slightly, and the main power strip looked burnt.
Soo Jin crossed her arms under her chest, pushing her full breasts up slightly against the white blouse.
"This outlet stopped working two days ago," she said coldly, her voice sharp like a prosecutor in court. "Fix it quickly. You have exactly nine minutes and thirty seconds left."
Do Jin set his toolbox down and crouched in front of the damaged outlet. He could feel her eyes boring into his back, judging his every move.
He deliberately took his time opening the toolbox, moving with calm, confident motions. In his old life, he would have been nervous and rushed. Now, with this new body and the memory of yesterday's conquest still fresh, he felt strangely in control.
The system's voice popped up cheerfully:
[Current Target Analysis]
[Park Soo Jin – Age: 38]
[Personality: Extremely proud, cold, perfectionist, sexually frustrated (hidden)]
[Current Attitude Toward You: Contempt + 12% Curiosity]
[Estimated SP if conquered: 200 – 280]
[Warning: She will kick you out the moment she senses incompetence.]
Do Jin began inspecting the outlet, but instead of immediately starting work, he spoke without turning around.
"Attorney Park, this isn't just a simple outlet problem. The wiring behind the wall is overloaded. If I just patch it quickly, it will burn again within a week."
Soo Jin's eyes narrowed.
"I didn't ask for your diagnosis. I asked you to fix it. You now have eight minutes and fifty seconds."
Do Jin stood up slowly and turned to face her directly.
Their eyes met.
Unlike the other repairmen who had come before him — men who usually lowered their heads and apologized — Do Jin held her gaze with calm confidence. A small, almost arrogant smile played on his lips.
"If you want a temporary fix, I can do that in five minutes," he said evenly. "But if you want it done properly, so you don't have to call anyone again… it will take longer. Your choice."
Soo Jin's expression didn't change, but Do Jin noticed a tiny flicker in her eyes — something between irritation and intrigue.
She checked her watch again.
"Seven minutes and forty seconds. If you can't finish by then, leave. I don't have time for incompetent people."
Do Jin didn't argue. He knelt back down and began working, but he made sure his movements were deliberate and smooth. His shirt sleeves were rolled up, revealing his toned forearms. Every time he reached for a tool, his muscles flexed naturally.
The silence stretched for almost two minutes.
Soo Jin stood there watching him, arms still crossed. She was used to men becoming nervous and clumsy under her cold stare. But this one… was different. He wasn't rushing. He wasn't sweating. He wasn't even trying to flatter her.
That annoyed her more than anything.
Finally, she spoke again, her tone dripping with disdain.
"You seem quite confident for a simple repairman. Most people who come here finish their work with shaking hands."
Do Jin didn't look up from his work.
"Maybe because most people are scared of you, Attorney Park," he replied casually. "I'm not."
Soo Jin let out a short, cold laugh.
"Scared? No. They're simply aware of their place. Something you clearly haven't learned yet."
Do Jin tightened a screw and finally stood up, wiping his hands on a cloth. He turned to face her again, standing tall.
"Actually, I think I know my place very well," he said, his voice low and steady. "I fix problems that other people can't. Whether it's electricity… or other things that have been neglected for too long."
For the first time, Soo Jin's icy mask cracked slightly. Her eyes flashed with clear irritation.
"Are you implying something?" she asked, her voice dangerously calm.
Do Jin took one step closer to her — not threatening, but enough to invade her personal space just a little.
"I'm saying that sometimes even the most perfect-looking systems have hidden faults," he said softly. "And ignoring them only makes the problem worse."
The tension in the room thickened instantly.
Soo Jin stared at him, her sharp eyes studying his face as if she was cross-examining a witness. For a brief moment, something shifted in her expression — a flicker of surprise mixed with something darker.
She opened her mouth to respond when suddenly —
The lights in the study room flickered violently, then went out completely.
The entire power in that section of the house died.
Soo Jin's eyes widened slightly.
Do Jin looked at the outlet, then back at her with a calm smile.
"See? I told you it wasn't a simple fix. The main circuit is overloaded. If I leave now, this whole section of your house will stay without power."
Soo Jin checked her watch again. Her voice turned even colder.
"You now have six minutes left. Fix it, or get out of my house."
Do Jin didn't move immediately. Instead, he looked straight into her eyes and spoke with quiet confidence:
"Attorney Park… if you want me to fix this properly, I'll need more time. At least until tonight. I can stay and finish the job thoroughly."
He paused, then added with a small smirk:
"Or… you can kick me out like all the others and keep dealing with the problem every week."
Soo Jin stared at him for a long moment. The silence was deafening.
For the first time in years, a repairman wasn't begging or apologizing. He was challenging her.
The system's excited voice rang in Do Jin's head:
[Nice! Her pride is shaken.]
[Current intrigue level: 28%]
[If you manage to stay longer than 10 minutes, bonus SP will be awarded.]
[Keep pushing, Mr. 49. The Ice Queen is starting to crack… just a little.]
Soo Jin finally spoke, her voice as cold as ever, but with a new edge:
"Fine. You have until 8 PM tonight. If the power isn't fully restored and stable by then, I will personally make sure your company never sends you anywhere again."
She turned on her heels and walked toward the door.
Before she left the study, she glanced back at him one last time.
"And don't waste my time with useless conversation."
The door closed behind her with a sharp click.
Do Jin stood alone in the dark study room, a predatory grin slowly spreading across his face.
He whispered to himself:
"Game on, Ice Queen."
The system laughed with delight:
[First stage cleared.]
[You survived the first 10 minutes without getting kicked out.]
[New objective unlocked: Stay until tonight and break more of her ice.]
[The real hunt begins now.]
