Boots Theory.
It is the act of buying something expensive for sustainability, durability and longer life, than something cheap that you have to replace a few times.
That's what it is in theory.
But, if you can fix the cheap one, or just use it in occasions, then you don't have to buy the expensive one.
Unless, you have a sickening superiority complex that you want to be the star of every show, then you will buy expensive things even if you don't need it.
Ans that's why every soldier is grinding now.
Each and every one is trying their hardest.
Because they want a stable armor for the events and everything to come.
And, seeing Risha, who was the first one to have a complete quadra-enchanted gear, they can see the power of the items.
Splashes of water came as Risha tore through the swamp.
She chased down a monkey looking monster, that has a yellow gem on it's forehead.
The monkey is also known as the Toxin Chimp, and this is their place of play - the Swamps.
As the shrill voice was hears throughout the swamp, an axe followed right behind it.
Risha, although carrying the big axe, kept her own pace, almost catching the small monkey.
But, the Toxin Chimp took a turn.
Risha took the same turn, only to meet a branch flung back at her.
The Toxin Chimp mischievously stretched the branch and released it when Risha followed him.
"Phasing!"
The branch did not hit anything, but air. Risha phased through the branch as if nothing happened to her.
But, that itself is another trap.
Phasing, means you phase through all the objects you are currently in contact with, except of course to the land.
That's where the fourth enchantment of the set comes to play.
"Selection."
Means that the certain enchantment can be used or unused on a specific set part.
This, in whole, makes the user control the way they can combat.
Within that time frame, Risha caught and killed the Toxin Chimp.
Although her red armor looks stunning, the yellow blood of the Toxic Chimp made her whole aura get to another level.
Randolph, on the other hand, is having difficulties.
What he bought was the Blood Eater, that grants him Omnivamp and Durability.
This set also has a triple-enchantment, and he has no spare to get the fourth one.
The first enchantment is an Enhancer, which makes the effects two times more effective.
The second one is Energy Charge, which lets him stack charges upon being hit, and the other is Energy Absorb, which lets him absorb the charged energy, and let him regenerate his Health, Energy or Stamina.
But, the thing is, he already has Omnivamp, so he won't really need that much energy to convert to his health.
His Energy is also top tier, while his Stamina also has it.
Being level 20, he is good already, and he thought that upon getting the set, he will be stronger.
Turns out, he was wrong.
The funny thing is, he was the one who insisted what set he wants. And so, he has no hold against Mr. Blue.
This didn't escape the eyes of the others, and that's why they didn't take the Blood Eater like him.
No one buys something unusable, even if it is durable and sustainable.
Upon arriving at the scene, Zypher saw the eagerness of everyone.
Last night, when he escaped, he left a note on the place he was hiding.
In truth, he wants them to buy, but if they don't know what moderation is like, he will die before the Knights Exam even finishes.
Plus, he was trying to test what his creations can do.
Apart from Risha, he found out that everyone, even if they only had one enchantment, is doing great, except for Randolph.
Zypher watched Randolph struggle from the branches above. He had zero tolerance for traitors, and digging the systemic knife in—letting Randolph waste a fortune on a useless build—was far more satisfying than a physical blade.
As long as they don't come out alive.
But, Zypher still has a use for him.
Zypher then went down from the tree he was hiding from.
He wears his black vest, black pants and shoes, and his blindfold. What made him stand out more now is the new accessory he has on his ear.
The ear cuff, and the earring.
"It has been a day."
Sounds of feet rushing came, and before they can make a stampede, Zypher suddenly disappeared.
The sudden disappearance made everyone stop and tumble on the ground.
Their bodies then created a domino effect, making the other also stumble on their ways.
"Where? Where did Mr. Blue go?"
The others, said as they tried to find him.
"I'm here."
Zypher appeared at the same place he vanished from. The people, seeing him had a ray of hope, but his next statement made them silent.
"I only have five for each and every set I have."
This stirred something inside of everyone.
Yes, competition. Everyone here, with the low supply Mr. Blue is giving, is a competition.
"Let me buy the Blood Phaser for 1,100 Cadet Points!"
"I will give 1,150!"
Bids rang out, because they don't want to lose the only person who can give them what they want.
In truth, Zypher made this as a lifeline.
They can steal from him anytime they want.
But, what they can't do right now, is enchant their items.
And Chrysanthemum, which Risha is in, has Enchanters on their team, but are of low ranks.
They entered this place, solely for the rewards, and not looking at their survivability.
This created a space for Zypher to work in, becoming the "Savior" they need.
Thus, the now atmosphere has been created.
"2,000, let me get the Blood Phaser Set!"
Randolph shouted as he wanted to also look cool like Risha.
Seeing this, Zypher smiled.
"Sorry, Sir, but you have to let them get theirs first, before you can take your second set."
