Chapter 82 -  That Mouth Is Really Stubborn

"Ahem, ahem! It's getting late. If we keep bothering them any longer, that'd be going too far!"

Rei Akagi, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly cut into the conversation, interrupting the handsome researcher.

He immediately controlled Rei, who dashed forward in a single stride. Without giving anyone time to react, he grabbed the arms of Red and Blue, practically dragging them out of the laboratory.

"Let's go, go, go! Hurry up! Don't delay other people's research!"

Watching the flustered Rei on the screen—moving so hurriedly he almost looked guilty—Blue suddenly felt like laughing. She spoke with a teasing tone:

"Tea~cher~ Salted~Fish~ why didn't you let them finish talking?"

"Green and healthy! Green and healthy, understand? I'm a proper game streamer!"

Rei Akagi's voice clearly lacked confidence, but he stubbornly tried to defend himself.

"Didn't you see Red was practically falling asleep? We have to take care of our teammates' condition!"

"Huh? I'm fine."

Red replied honestly, even sounding slightly reluctant to leave.

"Actually, it was pretty interesting to listen to—"

Rei Akagi: "…"

What a traitorous teammate!

While heading downstairs, the livestream chat had already exploded with laughter and launched into intense "academic" discussion.

"Kids make choices. Adults take everything!"

"This NPC design is amazing! Breaking the fourth wall and giving gossip too—Teacher Salted Fish really nailed this Easter egg!"

"The Easter egg is creative, but be honest, Teacher Salted Fish—who on earth could find this place without a guide?! You clearly didn't intend for anyone to discover it!"

"I'm more curious about that Eevee. It obviously has a story. Could it be related to information about Mewtwo?"

"Everyone knows the legendary Red already has an adorable Espeon."

They returned to the bustling streets of Celadon City.

Just as Rei Akagi was about to speak, he suddenly felt someone tugging lightly at the hem of his pants.

Looking down, he saw Gengar sticking half its body out of his shadow, grabbing him with its short little claws.

"Gengar~ (The shadow space is fixed~)"

It blinked its big round eyes.

Rei Akagi nodded. Setting down the Pokédex, he reached under Gengar's arms and lifted it out of the shadow like pulling up a carrot.

Glancing at the darkening sky outside, he spoke to the livestream audience:

"Ahem, that's about it for today's stream—"

Before he could finish, the chat erupted in protest.

"Salted Fish villain! You disappear for ages and then stream for such a short time?!"

"Rejected! Keep streaming! You're not allowed to end until sunrise!"

"Teacher Salted Fish, where do you live? Just curious. No bad intentions."

"Come on, bro, I'm begging you! Gifts incoming—just keep streaming!"

"Drop your address. I want to send you some local specialties."

"Relax, relax! Same time the night after tomorrow—we'll stream again! Promise!"

Afraid someone might actually track him down offline, Rei Akagi hurried to reassure them.

"And tomorrow Pokémon will receive an update. Everyone can guess what new content will be added—"

Once the chat's anger calmed slightly, he turned to the two people still in-game.

"Red, Blue—do you have time the night after tomorrow? I'll show you Celadon City's hidden storyline."

"OK. No problem."

Red answered immediately.

To be honest, he was getting a bit addicted to the game. Aside from his daily training, most of his free time had been spent playing Pokémon.

"As long as someone shows up on time without making people wait."

Blue commented expressionlessly.

"Alright, see you all the night after tomorrow."

With that final sentence, Rei Akagi decisively ended the stream.

"Assistant A Reminder: Detecting that the contractor's actions have produced large-scale positive feedback. Statistical estimation in progress."

"Assistant A Reminder: When the same individual repeatedly produces the same type of positive feedback, BP gain efficiency will decrease."

"Assistant A Reminder: Livestream activity gained 1001 BP. Predicted follow-up influence may generate 506.1 BP."

System notifications popped up. Rei Akagi didn't read them carefully, planning to calculate everything together after tomorrow's stream.

Grrrrr—

A loud rumble broke the quiet in the room.

Gengar immediately hugged its stomach, puffed its cheeks, and looked at Rei Akagi with embarrassed eyes full of one message:

Hungry.

"Hungry, huh? Go wait in the living room. I'll cook."

Rei Akagi smiled, rubbing its cool head before leaving the bedroom for the kitchen.

"Gengar~ (Roger that~)"

Gengar suddenly stood at attention and gave a proper salute. Then it somehow pulled out a small stool from nowhere, happily ran to the dining table, placed it neatly, and sat down obediently to wait.

In the kitchen, Rei Akagi cracked his knuckles.

Time to test just how good Pokéblock Crafting Lv.3 really was.

He took various Berries from the fridge and pulled out the Mini Pokéblock Maker Wrench from storage, beginning the process of making Pokéblocks.

First attempt — failure.

Second attempt — failure.

Third attempt — still failure.

Rei Akagi stared at the wrench, a vein popping on his forehead.

Assistant A!

I followed the steps exactly as the knowledge said. Why isn't it working? Did you sell me fake goods?

"Assistant A Reminder: You only obtained the skill knowledge. Practical experience still requires training. (Note: Official authentic product. No refunds.)**

"…Fine."

Rei Akagi took a deep breath and tried several more times.

Just when he was about to give up and cook something simple instead—

Ding!

The wrench finally emitted a pleasant completion sound.

A crystal-clear Pokéblock appeared on the tool head, emitting a faint fruity fragrance and a soft glow.

Assistant A, appraise this.

"High-Quality Pokéblock: Gradually improves a Pokémon's physical condition.

(Note: Different berry ratios produce different flavors and attribute bonuses.)**

See? Even Assistant A says it's good.

A smug smile curled across Rei Akagi's lips as he called toward the living room.

"Gengar, come here. Let me show you something good."

"Gengar? (What?)"

Hearing the call, Gengar rolled through the air and floated over curiously.

Rei Akagi seized the moment and stuffed the Pokéblock straight into its wide-open mouth.

He had no choice—ever since tasting his Pokéblocks last time, Gengar had developed a trauma response toward them.

Without a sneak attack, the guy wouldn't open his mouth at all.

Gengar's expression changed dramatically.

First panic.

Then hesitation.

Finally—

Pure bliss.

Rei Akagi nodded with satisfaction and patted its head.

"Enjoy it while you can, kid. From now on, you'll be eating well."

Ignoring the Gengar floating around in happiness, Rei Akagi quickly made another Pokéblock for the other lord in the room.

He had to shock it properly this time.

Knocking on the collar where Rayquaza was pretending to be dead, he held out a Pokéblock.

"Hey, stop playing dead. Try this."

Rayquaza lazily poked its head out. After glancing at the cube in Rei Akagi's hand, it spiraled out into the air. Its small dragon head suddenly enlarged as it swallowed the Pokéblock in one bite.

The taste is average. Barely acceptable.

Watching Rayquaza floating in the air while unconsciously drawing circles with its tail, Rei Akagi raised a very international gesture toward it.

"Man… that mouth of yours is really stubborn."
