Chapter 86 - Gyarados: ROOOOAAARRR!

Gyarados: "ROOOAAR—!"

Miraidon: "Bzzzt—BOOM!"

Dozens of bolts of lightning crashed down from the clouds, striking the Gyarados that had surfaced with perfect accuracy.

The Gyarados were instantly shocked, their bodies going numb and stiff as electricity coursed through them, leaving them rigid and upright in the water.

Seeing this scene, Hayato Sora's expression turned strange.

These Gyarados had truly brought this upon themselves. The rain they had summoned had instead become Miraidon's advantage, ensuring that its Thunder would never miss.

For a moment, the Gyarados were in utter misery, flailing about like ants on a hot pan.

"Grrraaah—"

Miraidon slowly descended from the clouds, revealing itself. Its cold electronic eyes swept across the Gyarados.

The group of normally ferocious-looking Gyarados had become extremely obedient after being struck by lightning.

The moment they saw Miraidon, they lowered their proud heads.

They were terrified—absolutely terrified.

Under Hayato Sora's direction, the somewhat timid Barbaracle cautiously approached, while Veluza beside it shrank back nervously.

Getting hit by lightning… that had to hurt!

After glancing at the departing humans, Veluza quickly followed along, afraid of being caught in the crossfire.

Hayato Sora walked forward and gave Miraidon a pat, generously praising it.

"Nice job, Miraidon!"

Miraidon chuckled smugly and pointed its alloy claw at the Gyarados, asking what should be done with them.

Hayato Sora looked at the group of Gyarados and grinned.

Premium ingredients had practically delivered themselves to his doorstep.

Ten minutes later, he waved his hand at the Gyarados while standing beside a pile of deep-blue dragon scales, each one as large as a washbasin.

In an instant, the Gyarados scattered in panic, fleeing toward the deep sea as if escaping for their lives.

Mommy! That was terrifying!

We're never coming back here again!

Each of the dragon scales beside Hayato Sora contained rich Dragon-type energy.

If he used them to make Fish Scale Jelly, it would definitely be something special. The three little Noibat were in for a treat.

After dealing with the Gyarados, Hayato Sora turned his gaze to the other side.

The battle there was also nearing its end.

After all, a single Gyarados was no match for Siebold.

His attention soon shifted to Veluza, who had been following closely behind him.

Curious, Hayato Sora asked,

"Veluza, why were you fighting those Gyarados?"

The clever Veluza blew a few bubbles.

"Bloop bloop~"

After observing for a while—and with Cyclizar reacting beside him—Hayato Sora gradually understood.

"You were protecting an egg, right?"

"Bloop!"

Veluza nodded vigorously.

Just as Hayato Sora was communicating with Veluza, Siebold returned riding on Blastoise, holding a Poké Ball in his palm.

"Hayato Sora, everything alright over here?"

Hayato Sora shook his head.

"The Gyarados have already gone back to the deep sea. What about you? Did you catch that one?"

Siebold nodded.

"This Gyarados knows the rare moves Dragon Dance and Outrage. It's very much worth training."

"Congratulations, Siebold. Another powerhouse added to your team."

Hayato Sora could already imagine how terrifying that Gyarados would be in battle.

After Dragon Dance boosts combined with Outrage, and with the Moxie Ability, once it started snowballing it could easily sweep an entire team.

No wonder even the picky Siebold had been tempted.

With their mission completed, the two prepared to return.

Before leaving, Hayato Sora invited Veluza to visit the ranch.

Veluza responded softly, then dove into the sea with a splash and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Following a faint call deep within its instincts, it swam rapidly in a certain direction.

That direction happened to be toward Hayato Sora Ranch.

By the time the two reached the shore, it was not yet noon.

Under Siebold's enthusiastic invitation, Hayato Sora had no choice but to visit his restaurant.

Using fish scales from other Fish Pokémon, Hayato Sora prepared a dish of Fish Scale Jelly.

Siebold was amazed.

He hadn't expected something as inconspicuous as fish scales to be turned into such a delicious dish.

Paired with dipping sauce, the flavor was excellent.

At least, Siebold enjoyed it immensely.

After tasting it, he quickly made up his mind.

Looking seriously at Hayato Sora, he said,

"Professor Hayato Sora, would you consider selling the recipe for this Fish Scale Jelly dish?"

"If you want to make it, just take the recipe," Hayato Sora replied casually, waving his hand.

"No, no."

Siebold shook his head and slowly explained his idea.

He wanted to make this dish the signature recruitment dish of his seafood restaurant.

"I see!" Hayato Sora nodded in understanding.

After thinking for a moment, he said,

"Then just give me 1 PokéDollar."

"..."

Siebold was stunned.

He had already prepared himself for a major expense, but Hayato Sora's answer completely caught him off guard.

After thinking for a moment, Siebold said helplessly,

"How about this, Professor Hayato Sora—I'll give you 10% of the profits from this dish. What do you think?"

"Isn't that too much? Just let me eat here for free in the future."

The two were already friends. After all, it was just a recipe.

"Ten percent," Siebold insisted firmly.

Before leaving, Hayato Sora handed over the Fish Scale Jelly recipe along with his bank account number.

Just like that, he somehow ended up with a monthly dividend income.

Shaking his head, Hayato Sora didn't think much of it.

He released Cyclizar, carrying a large bag stuffed full of dragon scales.

Arriving at Shalour Gym, Serena and Cinccino ran toward him.

"How was it? Did you have fun playing with Korrina?"

"Mhm!"

Serena nodded vigorously, the smile on her face completely genuine.

"Big brother, can Korrina come visit the ranch tomorrow?" Serena asked eagerly.

"No problem. I'll cook some delicious food for you."

"Yay!"

Serena excitedly ran over to Korrina to share the good news.

The two girls whispered together as they finalized the plan.

Hayato Sora picked up the exhausted Cinccino. The little Pokémon clung tightly to him and let out a huge yawn.

Handling one Korrina was already exhausting—now add Serena too.

Pinching its ears and scratching its chin, Hayato Sora chuckled.

"Thanks for your hard work, Cinccino."

"Chi!"

Cinccino snuggled into his arms, adjusted into a comfortable position, and soon began softly snoring.

By 5 PM, Hayato Sora finally returned to the ranch, completely worn out.

He peeled the stickers off his face and sighed deeply.

"Sigh… I should never have taken those two girls to the amusement park. They nearly worked me to death."

Meanwhile, Serena was lying on the couch with Cinccino in her arms, already asleep.

Once her excitement faded, she fell asleep faster than anyone.

After washing his face and refreshing himself, Hayato Sora headed to the kitchen.

He began processing the dragon reverse scales he had brought back.

Including Noivern's Reverse Scale, there were nine in total—just enough to make a full dish.

He placed a pot of fish scale broth into the refrigerator freezer.

Once it fully solidified, it would be ready to eat.

"Vzzz~"

When the three little Noibat learned that Hayato Sora had made the dish for them, they immediately gathered beside the refrigerator.

Cyclizar came over with a bottle of fruit juice and curiously glanced at the three of them, wondering what they were doing.

After gulping down a glass, it happily ran outside to play.

"You three little guys, don't rush. It'll take several hours to fully solidify," Hayato Sora said helplessly.

But the three Noibat ignored everything else.

They didn't move even a little, determined to guard the refrigerator until the Dragon Scale Jelly was finished.

They wanted to taste it the moment it was ready.

Then they could become as strong as Cyclizar—and protect everyone.
