The night was as clear as water. Bright moonlight poured down, draping Konoha Village in a veil of silver.
A cool evening breeze stirred Uchiha Hikari's long silver-black hair. A few loose strands brushed against Tobirama Senju's cheek, carrying a faint, clean fragrance.
"Can't walk anymore?"
Tobirama stopped and turned back. The girl behind him had begun to falter.
Though she had received Yang Release healing, Hikari's body had been depleted for centuries. After a day filled with emotional upheaval and hours of wandering the streets, fatigue had finally caught up to her.
Still, she bit her lip and forced herself onward, unwilling to show weakness.
"No… I'm fine."
She shook her head. Her face was pale, and a fine sheen of sweat dotted her forehead.
"I can keep going. I'm a weapon of the Uchiha Clan. This distance is nothing…"
"Tsk."
Tobirama clicked his tongue.
"Forget that word—weapon."
"And acting tough in front of me is pointless."
Before the last word faded, he turned, stepped toward her, and bent down. One arm slipped beneath her legs, the other around her waist.
"Ah—!"
Hikari gasped as her body lifted from the ground.
In the next instant, she was held securely in his arms—a flawless princess carry.
"L-Lord Tobirama?!"
Her face flushed scarlet. At a loss for what to do, she instinctively clutched his collar, her whole body stiff with embarrassment.
"Put me down! If someone sees us—"
"And what if they do?" Tobirama replied calmly.
"I'm the Hokage. You're someone I brought back myself."
"I'm carrying my own woman home. Who would dare object?"
Blunt. Overbearing.
And it struck straight through her heart.
Her heartbeat thundered in her ears.
"Hold on."
The corner of Tobirama's mouth curved upward.
Chakra flared beneath his feet.
Body Flicker Technique.
The two figures leapt across rooftops like shadows beneath the moon. Wind roared past, yet Hikari felt no chill.
Because in that moment, his arms were the warmest place in the world.
…
Tobirama's residence, the master bedroom.
The room was dark. Moonlight streamed in through the tall windows, spilling softly across the floor and casting a hazy glow.
Tobirama gently laid Hikari onto the broad bed. She sank into the soft bedding, her white dress spreading like a night-blooming flower.
She clutched the sheets, lashes trembling, eyes closed tight.
"Hikari."
Tobirama knelt beside the bed. His fingers brushed her cheek, light and careful.
"Do you know what comes next?"
She shivered, then slowly opened her eyes. Her Sharingan held no killing intent—only shyness, nervousness, and a fragile resolve.
"I… I know," she whispered.
"I'm… yours, Lord Tobirama."
It was trust, given without reservation.
He exhaled softly, then leaned down and kissed her forehead.
"Don't be afraid."
Moonlight shifted. Time passed.
The night outside remained quiet, while within the room, the scene gently faded beyond sight.
…
Later.
Hikari lay wrapped in blankets, utterly spent. Her breathing was shallow but steady.
"I… really can't continue…" she murmured weakly before slipping fully into sleep.
Tobirama studied her for a long moment, then sighed.
"So this is your limit."
He covered her more carefully and kissed her brow.
"Sleep."
He straightened, slipping on a robe, and walked to the door. With a snap of his fingers, chakra rippled outward through the seal of the Flying Thunder God Technique.
"**Pakura. **Tsunade.
Come to the master bedroom. Immediately."
…
Moments later, the door opened.
Tsunade, half-awake in a silk nightgown, and Pakura, dressed neatly despite the hour, stepped inside.
"Calling us in the middle of the night?" Tsunade yawned.
Her gaze flicked to the sleeping girl on the bed—and then to Tobirama.
Understanding dawned instantly.
"Oh? I see."
She folded her arms, smirking. "So our Hokage wore out the newcomer already?"
Pakura lowered her head, face warm with embarrassment. "Is… is she all right?"
"She's just exhausted," Tobirama replied. "She'll be fine."
He turned away from the bed, drawing the door closed behind him.
"Since she needs rest," he said evenly, "training will continue elsewhere."
Tsunade snorted. "You're unbelievable."
"Complain later."
The moonlight remained in the bedroom, peaceful and undisturbed.
And the night carried on.
