The trio continued further into the floor, finding small spots of moss here and there but there being no traces of the soil being disturbed meaning it wasn't what they were after
While they were walking they also came across a few monsters that they had fought before on the earlier floors, with Nero dealing with a crystal mantis by striking it with his fists, Rias dealing with a group of hellhounds by using wind based magic to send their fireballs back at them and then using another spell to change the wind into blades to cut them to pieces, and even a dungeon worm that appeared from the floor to attack the group, but Yumi having detected it before it could attack allowing the group to dodge the attack
After dodging the attack Yumi used her ice abilities to freeze the area, preventing the worm from retreating into the ground and slowing its movements allowing Rias to easily finish it with a blast of power of destruction, not worried about hitting the magic stone due to the creatures size, meaning that so long as she sensed where the magic stone roughly was she could hit any other part of its body
"Well, based on the amount of time it took us to run into a dungeon worm, or rather for it to run into us" Rias giggled "it seems like dungeon worms aren't to rare on this floor meaning that it shouldn't be too difficult to find the moss that we are looking for"
"It would seem so" agreed Yumi "dungeon creatures usually spawn in similar places to each other in order to prevent in fighting which would cause mutations to appear in the dungeon due to them eating each others magic stones, given that we have seen a dungeon worm that should indicate that we are in the right area"
"If that's the case we should look around and see if we can find a minotaur or ligerfang then" Nero suggested "if we can find one then we can get a rough idea where the boundaries of their spawn areas are which should have the highest chance of having the moss that we are looking for"
"A solid plan" Yumi nodded as the group continued forwards
As they were walking Yumi's eyes suddenly turned serious, bringing a finger up to her lips as she moved close to the wall and peeked around the corner
"Looks like a ligerfang" she commented "it hasn't noticed us yet, Nero, I'll take the left side, you take the right and we'll try to pincer it, I advise either using one of your spells to create a blade of some kind or activate your ice king mode and attack using your ice blades, either way whichever you chose you'll need to be fast, I plan to use my ice queen mode to create a blade myself, going into ice queen mode will act as the signal to act"
"Got it" Nero nodded "I'll use the spell a legendary sword to save on magic as even if it's only for a moment using ice king mode will drain me more than using a spell"
"Understood, I'll get into position, the moment you feel the temperature drop you attack, you should be used to what it feels like when I use ice queen mode" Yumi said before disappearing
"I'll gather my magic just in case" Rias declared as she hung back
"Alright, be ready to back us up just in case things go wrong" Nero nodded, using his own skills to move silently towards the ligerfang
Once in position Nero didn't have to wait long, feeling a distinct drop in temperature as he saw Yumi's shadow already heading towards the ligerfang, using his higher stats to keep up with her both Yumi and Nero stabbed their blades into either side of the ligerfang
Feeling the pain the ligerfang roared, causing Yumi to momentarily flinch, but compared to how Nero had been completely frozen in place by the roar in the past, but now was different, let alone freezing, something within Nero seemed to fill him with strength, as if to say don't roar at me as he used his blade to cut a huge gash into the ligerfang's side, Yumi doing the same a second later on her side
Due to the severe wounds that it had suffered the ligerfang's pressure seemed to drop as it struggled to move, not letting the chance go Yumi made a small path of ice and pushed off the ground, sliding forwards towards the ligerfang's head and spinning in a circle, using the momentum of her strike to drive her blade between the monsters eyes, causing the monster to turn to dust instantly
Deactivating her ice queen mode a small bead of sweat formed on Yumi's forehead, showing that even though she had only activated her ice queen mode for a short while that it had taken it out of her due to the amount of fighting that they had been doing prior to reaching this point "alright, given that this seems to be an area ligerfangs spawn it should mean that the moss that we are looking for should be around her somewhere, now that we've dealt with the beast lets grab Rias to check around this area" Yumi told Nero
"Argh" Rias cried out from behind them, causing Yumi and Nero to turn in shock, seeing Rias burst out from the tunnel that she had been waiting in
"ROAAAAR!" echoed out from the tunnel as a minotaur appeared from the same tunnel
Dashing over to her Nero struck at the beast with his sword as Yumi ran over to Rias
"Rias, what happened?" Yumi asked as she moved to Rias's side, ready to help her
"It came out of the wall right next to me and attacked me" Rias explained "fortunately I was able to use the magic that I had been gathering to defend from its strike, but it still go my arm" pulling up her sleeve to show a badly bruised arm "nothing a potion shouldn't fix"
Meanwhile Nero swung the legendary sword at the beast, only for it to block it with its horn, shattering the sword
"Well, I guess that's what happens when I use such a weak spell" Nero joked self deprecatingly at himself "and I don't think any of the other spells I can use will be much different, guess it's time to see the effects of my latest trainer and the skills that she gave me, but first" drawing a card as the minotaur swung at him he looked at it and smiled "just what I was hoping for" placing trap buster into his gauntlet, the armour materialising over his non-gauntlet arm, meaning both his arms were now covered in armour
Smashing his fists together in a bit of a show-offy manner he called out to the minotaur "lets see what you got" as he took a stance that he had learned from Kyouka from watching how she stood each time they started a new fight last night.
