After escorting Aurathia to the guild and officially becoming a Familia they returned to Nero's dad's diner for some food before turning in for the night
"Nero, your room is now the goddesses room, you can sleep on the couch" ordered Garin "she is an important guest and will be working in the shop from now on"
"Why not give her your room then, it's bigger than mine" Nero complained
"This will get you used to sleeping when you have rubbish sleeping conditions so stop complaining" Garin grunted as he threw a pillow and a blanket at Nero
"You just don't want to have to sleep on the sofa do you" Nero complained
"So what, you're under my roof so I make the rules" Garin claimed triumphantly
"Just bear with it for the time being" Aurathia said sympathetically, resting a hand on Nero's shoulder "once we earn enough money and become a bigger Familia I promise that you will get first choice of rooms when we get a proper base of operations"
"I'll hold you to that" Nero said as he tried to get comfortable on the sofa "goodnight Aurathia"
"Goodnight Nero" she replied
"What, no goodnight for me" teased Garin
"Fuck off dad" Nero shouted as Aurathia casually went into her room to sleep, Garin going to his own room "alright, time to test out this system" he thought as he slowly drifted off
"Welcome to the training space, please select your trainer or use gathered energy to draw a new trainer" a voice rang out
"Do I get a first time free draw?" Nero asked hopefully
"Divine contract created between host and origin of divine power is enough to draw one new trainer" answered the system
"Nice, draw my first trainer then" Nero exclaimed excitedly
"Drawing in process.... trainer found, Yumi Kurokage, Senran Kagura universe, skills gained by having as a trainer; ninjutsu, ice based abilities increased, tessenjutsu and basic body strengthening, do you wish to have her as your trainer?" asked the system
"Yes" Nero declared
"Agreement confirmed, creating trainer" the system declared, the shinobi girl materializing in front of Nero's eyes
The moment Yumi opened her eyes she disappeared
"What the?" Nero exclaimed before feeling a cold blade pressed against his neck
"Don't move" called out a voice from behind him
"Ok" gulped Nero, fearing for his life already
"Who are you? and where are we" she asked with a serious voice
"I'm Nero, you're in my training space, I was able to summon you here with my powers in order for you to train me" Nero explained
"Train you?" Yumi responded "why would you want me to train you?"
"From what I've heard you're a strong kunoichi with many ice based abilities so I would like to learn some of your techniques if able, also it wasn't my choice, my ability works at random and you were the first person I got" Nero answered again
"And what is stopping me from just taking you out right now" Yumi declared, pressing the kunai harder into Nero's throat, the blade causing a small amount of blood to leak out
"Because then you would be stuck her forever, from what I can gather you have been created by my ability not summoned so the original you is still in your world and if I can complete your training you would be able to come out into the world I am from and if at that point you wish to leave I will not stop you" Nero said as quick as he could
Considering Nero's words for a second and determining that he wasn't lying to her Yumi finally released him "so, you want to learn my techniques and once you do I will be free?" she questioned
"That's about it, you only have to teach me basic techniques and any secret techniques that you aren't allowed to show other people can be kept to yourself" Nero stated as he rubbed his neck "if you need any tools to train me my powers can create them"
"Very well, we shall start with your basic abilities, from the way you responded to me getting behind you, you don't seem to have any formal training" Yumi decided "first will be your stamina, run until you can't run anymore and I will time how long you can go for" a stopwatch appearing in her hand "go" she shouted
Having just been given his falna and having not trained before this Nero was only able to run for about 20 minutes before falling over due to his legs giving out
"20 minutes, we'll have to improve on that, next is strength" Yumi stated a number of different sized weights appearing around her "find out which one of these is the heaviest that you can lift once you have recovered"
After recovering and managing to lift 50kg while struggling Yumi then tested his reflexes, throwing skils and speed, noting each on a notepad
"Below average in most areas, it seems I have my work cut out for me" Yumi sighed
"Don't worry, the world I come from has this thing called a falna, it makes it so that I can gain experience like a video game character so I will get stronger than a normal person and at a faster rate" Nero panted from the floor
"That is good to hear" Yumi replied raising an eyebrow
"Are there any techniques that you can teach me now? I will be going into this thing called a dungeon tomorrow and I'd like to be able to protect myself from the monsters inside" Nero asked
"Very well" sighed Yumi getting into position as the system created a small number of goblins to demonstrate on "watch closely" she said before performing a set of flowing movements, using 2 kunai as if they were a part of her body "treat battles as if they are a dance, watch your opponents movements and strike only when you are sure that the strike will be true" focusing more on dodging than attacking but when she did she aimed for the vital points and killed the goblins quickly and cleanly without it affecting her movements finishing them off with ease "even with your stamina you should be able to pull this off for a few minutes at a time"
"That was incredible" Nero expressed, his jaw having dropped long ago
"Aim to reach at least this level and creatures like this will never be a problem for you" she stated before seeing that his form was starting to fade
"I guess training time is up for today" said Nero as he looked at his vanishing hand "I will try to be stronger for you the next time we meet" he said with a determined look in his eyes
"It will make these training sessions more bareable if you do" Yumi responded
"Goodbye for now Yumi" Nero called out before he disappeared completely
"Goodbye Nero" she responded before the system place disasppeared, taking her with it as Nero was no longer there to maintain it.
