Ficool

Chapter 17 - chapter 17

After having a light conversation with Fiena, Aldes solidified his plans for today. He would go train, then wander around the city. He was curious about what this medieval city with a fantasy vibe looked like. Aldes also had the chance to ask the white-haired maid for some place recommendations.

Aldes walked into the training room. The air in the room felt cool. His boots sounded as they hit the thick stone floor. Today, Klaus could not train him. The captain was busy taking care of military affairs and could only train him in two days.

Therefore, Aldes was forced to train alone.

He gathered mana around his body. Sweat began to soak his back and chest. Aldes trained his breathing and tried to combine the martial arts techniques he remembered with the magic flow inside his body.

He did not meet Martius today. The battle-crazy prince was going to the underground dungeon to increase his power level.

Aldes lifted his body. He floated about one meter above the floor. His fists struck the empty air rapidly. He did shadow boxing, then released a straight kick forward. Just as his leg extended, his ears caught the sound of footsteps. Aldes held his movement in the air. His eyes glanced toward the door.

"You are diligent now, Aldes."

A woman's voice echoed softly in the room. Aldes lowered his leg and turned his body around. His eyes stared at Illfa's figure.

The girl stood in the doorway. She wore rather casual clothes. Tight blue fabric wrapped around her body, emphasizing her curves. A brown leather sword sheath hung on her left waist. Her bright red hair was tied into a ponytail.

She is not wearing serious clothes like yesterday. Is she on a day off? Or… I don't know actually, Aldes muttered in his heart.

Aldes lowered his mana flow. His body descended slowly until the soles of his feet touched the stone floor again.

"What are you doing here?" Aldes asked.

Illfa frowned. Her red eyebrows knitted in confusion.

"What do you think someone goes to a training room carrying a sword for?" she replied curtly.

Aldes raised both his eyebrows. He opened his palms in front of his chest.

"Ah, yes. Of course. Sorry, sorry," he said lightly.

Illfa fell silent. She stared at Aldes from top to bottom with a bewildered expression.

"You apologized," Illfa muttered softly.

"Hm? Why?" Aldes tilted his head slightly.

"Hn? No, it's nothing." Illfa shook her head quickly.

"Alright, if there's nothing." Aldes walked to the wooden bench, took a towel, and wiped the sweat from his neck. He then stepped toward the exit.

"I am already done."

Aldes walked past Illfa. He raised his right hand and waved casually.

"Enjoy your training time, Illfa. And oh, you are very beautiful with that hairstyle."

Illfa's eyes widened. She quickly turned and grabbed his sleeve.

"Wait… wait!"

Aldes stopped. He looked back at her hand gripping his arm.

"Why?"

"Accompany me to train for a moment. I'm still curious about your martial arts," Illfa said, staring intently into his eyes.

"Eh? But I have to go to the city today. I want to take a walk. I've trained long enough," Aldes replied.

He glanced toward the high stone window. The sunlight had started to turn golden.

It will be late afternoon soon. I want to see the sunset, he thought.

Illfa released his sleeve, then crossed her arms. She stared straight at him.

"I'll accompany you later," she said firmly.

"Train with me first."
