Chapter 155 - Payment Due

Hajin waited inside the guild doors while Juna shouldered a gap between two waiting parties wide enough for his sling. An argument over campaign receipts died beside the counter as the doors swung shut, leaving several papers still frozen mid-air.

'Badge, bounty, out the door, before this room decides my morning needs more excitement.'

Juna's ears flicked back as the whole hall went quiet around them, "Wonderful, they're staring like you owe them money."

"Let them stare," Hajin snorted, nudging forward with his good shoulder.

"Half these guys watched me haul in sewer contracts worth a few meals, this is the nicest they've ever looked at me."

Their attention slid from his clean coat to the sling, and whispers stitched the northern Gate onto Weaver's Alley.

The host feed stayed closed as he crossed the hall toward the appointment named on his notice.
