She sat high inside the ruins overlooking the eastern gate, her tail twitching with each armored rider who joined the departing column.
Morning wind blew long black hair across her face and carried the faint creak of saddles up from the road.
The demon boy stepped from the archway's shadow and joined her at the ledge.
His eyes followed Hajin, Juna, Loccy, and Vella as they passed beneath the gatehouse with the royal formation.
"Their mana resonates with his own, so the circulation pattern shares one foundation," the boy said, folding both arms.
The girl pushed hair from her eyes and focused on the three women moving around Hajin.
"Those three are not simply traveling beside him for safety. Each one is bound to his core," the girl replied as her brow furrowed.
