Chapter 9 - The Iron Horizon

The Pacific Ocean, once a vast blue expanse, was now a graveyard of steel. The Global Purge Task Force had arrived. From the deck of the USS Retribution, the Monarch of Iron, a man whose muscles were interwoven with SSS-Rank liquid metal, stared at the wall of darkness surrounding Japan.

Beside him stood the Monarch of Frost, a Russian titan whose very breath turned the humid sea air into falling needles of ice.

"The System has flagged him as a 'Level 0 Error'," the Monarch of Iron growled, his voice a mechanical rumble. "But he's eaten three S-Rank gates in forty-eight hours. If we don't format him now, the Archive will trigger a planetary reset."

"Then let us begin the deletion," the Monarch of Frost replied.

He raised his hand, and the ocean groaned. A massive wave of Absolute Zero energy surged forward, intent on freezing the entire Japanese archipelago into a single, silent block of ice.

II. Deleting the Distance

Inside the Shadow Domain, Kaito Arisawa stood on the surface of the water. He wasn't wearing armor. He was dressed in a simple black tactical coat, his silver hair whipping in the freezing wind.

He watched the wall of white frost rushing toward him. To any other hunter, this was a world-ending attack. To Kaito, it was just excess data.

"Fenris," Kaito whispered.

The Void-Stalker emerged from the ink-black water, its eight silver eyes fixed on the Russian flagship.

"Master, the space is cluttered," Fenris hissed, its voice echoing in Kaito's mind.

"I'll clear it," Kaito said.

He stepped forward. He didn't run. He didn't fly.

[Authority: 'Void Navigation' Activated.][Action: Deleting 300 Miles of Space.]

In a split second, the laws of physics shattered. Kaito didn't move across the ocean; he simply deleted the distance between himself and the Monarch of Frost. To the soldiers on the flagship, it looked like a glitch in a video game. One moment the horizon was empty; the next, a silver-haired youth was standing three inches from their leader's face.

The Monarch of Frost gasped, his ice-aura flickering in shock. He tried to summon a spear of Absolute Zero, but Kaito's hand was already around his throat.

III. The Sovereign's Toll

"Your rank is a lie," Kaito said, his obsidian eyes reflecting the Monarch's terror. "You call yourself a King because the System gave you a title. I am a King because I took the throne."

[System Prompt: SSS-Rank Attribute 'Absolute Zero' Detected.][Initiating Attribute Extraction...]

The Monarch of Frost screamed—a sound that shattered the glass windows of the entire fleet. Kaito wasn't just killing him; he was unweaving his soul. The blue light of the frost energy was physically ripped out of the Monarch's chest, turning into a glowing, frozen sphere in Kaito's palm.

Kaito tossed the sphere to the side. "Eat, Fenris."

The Void-Stalker leaped from the shadows, catching the Monarch's essence in mid-air.

[Evolution: Fenris has consumed the 'Frost Core'.][New Form: The Calamity of the Frozen Void.]

Fenris transformed instantly. Its obsidian scales grew jagged white spikes, and its breath became a mist of "Black Frost"—ice that didn't just freeze the body, but deleted the heat from the soul. Fenris let out a howl, and the entire US Seventh Fleet was encased in black ice in seconds, the ships becoming silent tombs of frozen shadow.

IV. Passive Domination

Kaito turned his gaze toward the Monarch of Iron.

The American leader stepped back, his liquid-metal skin rippling with fear. He activated his "System-Slayer" cannons, weapons designed to kill Gods. "Target locked! Fire!"

Kaito didn't even raise his hand to block. He simply released 10% of his Passive Aura.

The effect was tectonic. The air around the flagship turned into a solid weight. The soldiers on deck didn't even have time to scream; their brains simply shut down as their survival instincts were overwhelmed by the presence of a Primordial Predator. The "System-Slayers" hummed, then exploded, their internal logic unable to process the "Zero" energy radiating from Kaito.

"I am the error you cannot fix," Kaito said, walking across the deck of the frozen ship.

[System Warning: F-Rank Status is no longer applicable.][Permanent Title Gained: THE ZERO SOVEREIGN.]

The sky above the ocean tore open, revealing a rift of stars. Kaito stood amongst the ruins of the world's strongest army, his silver hair glowing like a beacon in the dark. He wasn't just a hunter anymore. He was the end of the world.
