Chapter 3 - The Blooming Blue singularity

Today was the day of the syndicate's grand trade. Armed guards produced heavy key rings, unlocking the iron cages one by one and violently dragging the captives out toward the surface.

Everyone knew exactly what awaited them. A suffocating wave of despair washed over the prisoners. Some wailed in agony, some fell to their knees begging for mercy, while others spat futile threats.

But the syndicate thugs remained entirely unmoved. If a prisoner cooperated, they were merely shoved forward. If they resisted, they were ruthlessly beaten into submission with stun batons.

Soon enough, the gang arrived at Su Mu's cell. Among them was that damn thug, Jim.

Catching Su Mu's gaze, Jim flashed a hideous, yellow-toothed grin and drew a thumb across his throat in a mocking gesture.

He expected to see stark terror. Instead, Su Mu offered him a radiant, blindingly sunny smile. The total lack of fear instantly rubbed Jim the wrong way.

"Get your ass out here, yellow monkey," Jim barked. "Today is your lucky day!"

Su Mu's voice was as smooth and calm as an undisturbed lake. "You're right. Today truly is a beautiful day."

Furious that the kid still dared to talk back, Jim's face darkened. He stepped right up to the bars, leaning in to whisper venomously.

"You probably don't know this, but I've already had a word with Dr. John. They won't be using any anesthesia when they harvest your organs. You are going to die screaming in absolute despair!"

Su Mu just smiled at him—a mysterious, almost pitying look. "You probably won't have the chance to see that."

Provoked once again, Jim had no idea where this pathetic hostage was getting his liquid courage, but he was ready to beat it out of him. Even if the boss punished him for bruising the merchandise, as long as the kid didn't die, it would be worth it.

Without another word, Jim twisted his waist and threw a vicious, heavy punch straight at Su Mu's face!

He had hated that handsome face from the start, and he absolutely despised the fake, tranquil mask the kid was wearing right now.

The other thugs behind Jim didn't bother to intervene. They simply watched with amused smirks, fully expecting to savor the boy's agonizing shrieks.

But what happened next shattered their understanding of reality.

Jim's fist stopped mere inches from Su Mu's face. No matter how hard he pushed, it simply could not advance a single fraction of a millimeter.

At first, the thugs thought Jim was just pulling his punches to mess with the kid.

"Quit playing around, Jim!" one of them laughed. "The buyers are waiting. If you delay the trade, the boss is gonna skin you alive!"

"Yeah, hurry up and smash his face in! I want to hear him squeal!"

"No... I'm not..." Jim stammered.

A primal terror gripped Jim's heart as he stared at the young man before him. Those ordinary dark brown eyes had, at some point, transformed into a deep, crystalline azure blue. Even his pitch-black hair had turned a stark, ethereal white overnight.

Su Mu was smiling at him, but the cruel, diabolical curve of his lips and the sheer, playful mockery in his transcendental gaze confirmed one terrifying truth: He was doing this!

What the hell is going on?! Then it hit Jim. Is this guy... a mutant?!

Hearing the sheer panic in Jim's voice, the thugs behind him finally noticed that something was horribly wrong. As they looked closer, the impossible details became clear.

The veins on Jim's arm were bulging like thick worms, his muscles trembling violently—he was putting his entire body weight into that punch. Yet, the closer his fist got to Su Mu, the more distorted the space around it became. It was as if reality itself was bending, physically refracting the light!

Wrong.

Everything about this was fundamentally wrong!

The same horrifying realization struck all of them simultaneously. This kid... he's a mutant!

An ominous, suffocating dread blanketed the corridor. Seeing the absolute, indifferent smile plastered on Su Mu's face, every single thug instinctively took a step back.

Watching the terrified man exerting all his strength just to push through empty space, Su Mu offered an encouraging, mocking cheer.

"Come on! Keep pushing! Just a little harder and you might actually touch me!"

But as soon as the words left his mouth, Su Mu's smile vanished. Overwhelmed by the fear of the unknown, Jim had actually broken his stance, turning around in a desperate bid to run!

Run? How could Su Mu possibly let him run?

He still had an unopened gift for him, after all.

Raw energy surged through Su Mu's body, massively enhancing his physical vessel. Moving at a speed entirely imperceptible to ordinary humans, Su Mu reached out and clamped his hand over Jim's head. With a casual exertion of force, he violently slammed the thug's skull straight into the concrete floor!

BANG!

The sickening crunch of the impact echoed through the dungeon, sending a chill down the spines of the onlookers. Jim went completely limp, knocked out cold by the severe cranial trauma.

But naturally, Su Mu wasn't going to stop there.

Leveraging his supercharged physical strength, Su Mu coldly and systematically stomped down on all five of Jim's extremities.

The overwhelming force pulverized bone and mashed flesh into paste. Blood and viscera pooled beneath Su Mu's shoes, slowly creeping across the floor.

When his right arm was crushed, the agonizing pain jolted Jim awake. He unleashed a bloodcurdling, inhuman shriek, thrashing wildly on the ground.

But what could he possibly do against Su Mu?

He could only watch in absolute despair as the white-haired demon systematically shattered his limbs, turning him into a permanent, agonizingly conscious cripple.

Gift delivered. Whether Jim liked it or not was irrelevant. Su Mu didn't spare him another glance.

Standing amidst the expanding pool of blood, the terrifying entity turned his crystalline eyes toward the remaining thugs. That freezing, god-like gaze snapped them out of their stunned paralysis.

"His power has to have a limit!" one of the thugs suddenly screamed, his voice cracking with hysteria. "Otherwise, how the hell did Jim catch him in the first place?! Shoot him! Just shoot him dead!"

"Right! Fire! Light him up!"

These weren't ordinary street punks; they were hardened, well-trained syndicate enforcers. Snapping out of their panic, they raised their assault rifles and unleashed a relentless hail of lead at Su Mu.

But the scene that followed plunged them straight into the abyss of despair.

Dozens of high-caliber bullets froze in mid-air right in front of the white-haired demon. The space around him warped into bizarre ripples, the projectiles suspended perfectly, completely incapable of advancing another inch.

It was as if the distance between the bullets and Su Mu wasn't a mere few centimeters, but an infinite, uncrossable chasm!

Limitless!

"Impossible! Why isn't it working?!"

"What kind of freakish mutant power is this?!"

"If he's this much of a monster, how did Jim ever catch him?!"

Their psychological defenses completely shattered. Operating purely on terrified instinct, they held down their triggers, blindly pouring magazines into the hallway.

Not a single bullet touched Su Mu. In fact, he even had the leisurely grace to shift his position, casually blocking the stray bullets that would have put Jim out of his misery.

Su Mu wasn't about to let the man die so easily. He needed to marinate in his pain and despair.

Su Mu casually glanced at the firing squad, then past them, sensing the syndicate reinforcements sprinting down the corridor toward the commotion.

A diabolical, breathtaking smirk curved his lips. He raised his hands, casually bringing them together in a relaxed, precise seal.

"Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue."

The energy within him cascaded through a highly specific, complex pathway. In an instant, a terrifying, transcendental azure vortex materialized in the air before him. The localized singularity immediately swallowed the suspended bullets whole.

As the absolute gravitational pull reached its zenith...

BOOM!!!

The beautiful blue singularity bloomed, shooting forward with devastating velocity. Whether it was human flesh, reinforced concrete, or solid steel bars—everything was ripped from its foundation and violently sucked into the void!

When the apocalyptic rumbling finally ceased and the blinding blue light faded, the corridor was deathly silent.

The syndicate members were entirely gone. Not a corpse, not a bone, not even a single drop of blood remained.
