"T-there, t-there…" Ethan backs away slowly, making sure not to agro the thing in any way. That plan didn't seem to work though, since it walked ever so closer to Ethan, almost making him shit his pants. Arthur is watching all of this, and is even more scared than Ethan, since he couldn't see what was even happening. Then, he slips on a leaf like an absolute idiot. The fall to the ground made a loud-ish muffled noise that seemed to attract the creature even more.
Ethan's mind was praying to whatever god exists, for them to live just another day. Arthur managed to stabilize himself, and stay still as best as he could. If he knew how to hold his breath, he would've.
Some sort of hand, or paw, emerged from the darkness ahead. Its claws scraped across the ground, leaving a mark where it happened. From what Ethan saw, it seems to have patches on its skin with no hair, which was kind of weird. The thing made another snarling sound that sounded a lot more sinister, and deeper in its throat.
It crawled even closer, reeling its human nose.
Ethan wasn't going to be able to take this much fear for any longer. He closes his eyes, and walks back slightly quicker this time.
The thing had its eyes dead set on Ethan's position, failing to notice the fact of Arthur crawling out of the trap, and tip-toeing over to the creature. He slowly raised his fist, and with one swing…
*BAM!!
His fist went down onto what he presumed was its head. The thing dropped to the ground with a thud. Then, it screeched. Its vocal cord rustling the leaves around violently. It then got back up instantly, and charged its way over to Ethan. It got close enough to see its face, but Ethan was too busy worrying about evading to analyze at the moment. He moved away so they could connect, skin-to-skin. Instead, it slammed its face into the thick tree that was behind Ethan this whole time. Blood splattered in a disc shape; getting onto all the leaves, and flowers, and trucks around it. The thing fell to the floor, and laid on its right side. Exposing what it looked like to Ethan's phone.
It seemed to be a mixture of a human, and a dog. The mixture also seemed to be made with how patchy the job was. It had two different eyes, two noses merged into one that became two once again, and what looked to be a dog's tongue, dangling inside a human's mouth. The hands weren't that much better of a sight, with the mixture between human and dog, now much more visible. The sloppiness of that sewing was really starting to show, when blood and other fluids started leaking out of the stitches. Ethan and Arthur were both horrified, and Arthur immediately threw up on sight, accidentally getting some of it on the creature. Ethan watched as the thing tried its hardest to get up off the ground, but every movement it made, allowed even more fluids to seep through. Ethan couldn't watch this thing live any longer, he went to pick up a rock he spotted, and lifted it over his head.
The thing looked at him doing this, and a tear rolled down its cheek, as it closed its eyes, and purred.
*THWACK!
The bluntness of the hit sends blood sewing everywhere. Luckily for the creature, he precisely landed it on its head, so that it wouldn't suffer any more than it had to. That plan seemed to be a success, since the fact that any and all movements ceased from the future. A tear came from Ethan's left eyes, as he stood up straight, and turned away to keep on walking. Arthur didn't really know what to do at the moment, so he stayed silent, and went along with him for now.
Their walk felt a lot more awkward than Arthur would have ever imagined. With neither of them saying a word. It felt like hell walking around in silence for him. No noise could lead to jump scares.
"S-so uh… how much longer do you think this is going to take…?" Arthur asks.
Ethan doesn't even dignify him with a glance, just saying: "I don't know." in the most monotone voice in existence. Continuing to walk through the dense and less quiet forest. He also accidentally stepped on a few mutilated animals while walking, but he couldn't care less at the moment.
"Darn… I wonder what happened to that guy—"
"Will you ever just shut up…?" Ethan cuts him off, and clenches his first whilst shaking. Arthur was stunned, not knowing what to do or say next. "Do you ever show empathy, or care for anything…? Or are you just a sociopath…" Arthur didn't like the tone he was giving him, for what seemed to be no reason at all. He walked faster, to get closer to Ethan, he got past him, and looked back to see that tears were in his eyes. Arthur groaned when seeing this lack of masculinity in him.
"Oh for fucks sake, I knew you were girly, but this is too much—"
*SLAP!
"I knew it! I knew you only cared about yourself and your well being! The only reason you do anything is for your benefit. Otherwise you just veg out like an absolute slob!" Ethan insulted him. "Y'know, Braxton isn't really that much better than you. But at least he shows some sort of compassion and empathy. Unlike you…" Arthur was trying to hold in his rage. He lowered his head, so that Ethan couldn't see that he was gritting his teeth.
Ethan turns his head to the right, not wanting to see his face. "If I were anyone else, I would've kicked you down, and left you to rot in your own selfishness… but I'm better than that… I'm better than you…" He continued walking after that, not noticing he was too shaking, but not from sadness. How dare this twink speak to him that way. He had every right to do what he does, and if people had a problem with it, they would've already left him. Ethan in his eyes was just talking out of his own ass. He couldn't take such disrespect, especially from someone below him in every way.
Ethan looked back to see if Arthur was going to follow him or not. He honestly wished he didn't at the moment. Just as he turned his head though, Arthur balled up fist came bulldozing into Ethan's cheek.
He fell down from the hit, and crashed into the soil. He looks up, and spits out some dirt that got into his mouth, to see Arthur staring over him and glaring.
"How about you shut your goddamn mouth, before judging how other people act… since, likewise, you're not one to talk, you stuck up bitch!" Arthur spits onto his face, and kicks him in the stomach.
"Now get up f-slur! We have to get going now…"
