Chapter 12 - Aurora

Taylor and Donald are jamming out on the road. Now that Taylor doesn't have to deal with cops anymore, he's been having the time of his life out on the highway.

"Hey Taylor!"

"Yeah what's up?"

"What happened to your hand?!" Taylor realised that he forgot to mention what happened to Donald at all yet. "Oh, this? It's that little fuckers fault. Kinda… but now I have a robot hand, so it's fine!" they both were absolutely amazed at how far technology has come since they were kids.

"Wait hold up! How long ago did that incident even happen?" Donald asked.

"Um… like 2 weeks ago? Why?"

"So you just got yelled at for something that happened two weeks ago?"

"Well I had to recover before they could tell the boss. They said it was for my own good? Which only made me more worried about the boss" That made shives run down his spine all over again. "By the way. How much longer of a drive do I have?"

Donald checks his phone. "About 1 an hour" Taylor loudly sulks at the news. Annoying the hell out of Donald.

Taylor puts on some more again, and they jam out for however long they feel like. The sun slowly sets as Taylor goes through cigarette after cigarette, and as Donald tries his hardest to find one last drop of beer. They were having such a chill time, that they didn't even see the orange sky out their window.

Donald gets a notification on his phone, saying that they've gotten to their destination. Taylor was so happy and relieved from the news. He looked out to see what could be considered as, a slum.

The air was super cloudy, almost like it was a foggy day, even though it's June. The houses seemed like they were made out of parts of shipping containers. They were also super packed together. It felt like looking at Bangladesh for Taylor. The people around there looked somewhat friendly, but some were also kind of sketchy.

"Hey Donald?"

"What?"

"Where are we?" Taylor looked everywhere he could through that car window, trying to find an entrance sign or something to indicate what this place was anyway.

"This place is apparently called Aurora. Not a fitting name, but it's built where the Mississagi River Provincial Park used to be" Donald explained. "Don't worry about the locals by the way! They'll be docile!"

Taylor hyped himself up before hopping out of his car, leaving Donald to sleep in there while he found whoever he was talking about. The sky went from an orange, right to a dark blue as he was walking around. The locals were looking at him funny, probably because he looked totally different compared to them. Just then, two strangers stopped him in his tracks.

"Hey man! You lost or something?" stranger #1 said. "Why are you all the way out here?" stranger #2 looked at Taylor funny, which pissed him off. IF only I was on duty… wouldn't have to deal with freaks like these… Taylor thought to himself. While trying his best to keep a smile on his face.

"Why don't we go into this alleyway over here… okay?" He pushed them down a random alleyway. All the way until they couldn't go anymore.

"So… are you gonna tell us what you need?"

"Oh me?! I'm just wondering if you guys knew about some prominent gang around here? Heard it from a friend" Taylor asked.

The two of them looked horrified, like Taylor just talked about the boogie man. They looked at him and whispered: "don't talk about stuff like that around here… you might just get killed for even mentioning their name" the two of them, both took to steps back. Taylor came closer and got into their faces, it didn't look like it then, but he was just about ready to go back home. He grabbed both of their hands, and squeezed super tight.

"You guys are going to help me find these fuckers, whether you like it, or not, GOT THAT!" He squeezed tighter. They both couldn't believe their eyes and ears. He was so calm 10 seconds ago.

"Woah man just clam down—"

Taylor pulls out a pistol that was hidden in his waistband. He grabbed it just as he was leaving the car. Thinking that it would help in situations like these. Taylor, with his teeth gritted, said: "I think you should start talking, I'm kinda getting impatient with you poor animals!" he put the gun #1's mouth, making him gag and squirm.

"OKAY! OKAY! Dear god w-we can take you there! I promise, just let go of my boyfriend, p-please!" #2 pleaded with Taylor to let the two of them go. Once he heard the word boyfriend, he immediately made a disgusted face. He's never really been a fan of gay people his whole life.

Taylor put his gun not all the way down, but just enough to hide it. He motioned with his other hand to get a fucking move on, before he finds someone else who would.

They were both violently shaking, worried that this guy might just snap at any random moment. Taylor on the other hand, just wanted to go back home and get blackout drunk. But now he has to do this bullshit.

The three of them made it to some bar. The gay guys entered first, while Taylor walked in second. They walked up to the bartender, and whispered something into his ear. Whatever they said made the bartender nod his head, and let the three of them into the back. Taylor just hoped that they didn't rat on him.

Once they made it to the back all the way, the bartender guy pushed a button that was hiding behind some storage boxes. It made a beeping sound before he watched as the wall right in front of him began to lift up. Taylor was so amazed that he wasn't really even mad anymore.

"Hey! We're doing something here! Come back next time!" that rough voice sent shivers down Taylor's spine.

"h-hi!"
