Chapter 3 - My Divine Miracle Can Actually Roast Wild Boar?!

003 My Divine Miracle Can Actually Roast Wild Boar?!

Upon seeing them eating grass, Jian Feng felt a pang of heartache. He immediately set his clay-baked chicken aside, removed his gloves, and took hold of his mouse.

After sweeping his cursor across the screen, he failed to find anything that could help improve their diet. He felt a sudden wave of disappointment, his face falling as he watched them continue to munch on grass.

Just then, five individuals ascended the steps to reach the Sacred Altar, where they began groping around the massive, magnificent structure, trying to figure out its purpose.

Jian Feng stared unblinkingly, watching intently to see what they were up to. One of the group members placed a stone—which he had been holding—onto the raised platform situated at the very center of the Sacred Altar.

Suddenly!

[Your believers are offering you a sacrifice: [Stone]. Are you satisfied?]

[Yes] [No]

"I'm not dead, so how can this be called a 'sacrifice'? And how am I supposed to be 'satisfied' with just a single stone...?"

After pondering the matter for a good while, Jian Feng rubbed his forehead in resignation. At this point, stones and grass were all they had; whether he was satisfied or not, he simply had to accept it.

After a brief internal struggle, he clicked [Yes].

*Rumble—Whoosh!*

The central platform of the Sacred Altar suddenly erupted with a blinding radiance. The light shot straight toward the heavens, blanketing the entire grassland of the sandbox world.

The five individuals standing atop the Sacred Altar—along with the fifteen standing below—were left utterly dumbfounded. Moments later, they all fell to their knees in unison, crying out the name of their God! [Congratulations, Great Creator God! You have gained your first batch of believers. Reward: 100 Divine Faith Points.]

[Great Creator God, please enter the title your believers shall use to address you: ___________________]

"It has to be 'God Feng,' of course. Didn't I already enter that earlier?"

*Click.*

Once the input was complete, another line of text popped up.

[Great Creator God, please enter the title you wish to use for your believers: ___________________]

"A title for *them*? Well, since I'm God Feng, then... wait, never mind. I'll just stick with calling them 'believers.'"

Thinking this, Jian Feng rubbed his head and typed in the word "Believers."

[[Stone has been converted into 1 Divine Faith Point for you.] Would you like to bestow a Divine Gift upon your believers?]

[Yes] [No]

"What the heck is a 'Divine Gift'? Does it mean I have to give *my* stuff to *you guys*? I'm practically dirt poor myself right now... Uh..."

*Click.*

He clicked [Yes].

[Great Creator God, please enter the item you wish to bestow upon your believers: ___________]

[Confirm] [Cancel]

After clicking, a line of text appeared on the computer screen, and Jian Feng was left dumbfounded once again.

"I get to enter it myself? Does that mean I can type in absolutely anything?"

Having said that, he began furiously typing away at his keyboard.

[Item to be bestowed upon believers: [Wheat Seeds]]

[Confirm] [Cancel]

*Click.*

[Cost: 10 Divine Faith Points to bestow [Wheat Seeds].]

After entering the item, he clicked "Confirm." The Divine Altar erupted with light once again, a brilliant beam shooting straight up into the heavens! Before long, the light faded, and right in the center of the sacred altar's raised platform, a sack of wheat seeds appeared!

Upon seeing that a mere stone had been exchanged for such a novel item, the five figures at the sacred altar leaped for joy; snatching up the sack, they scrambled down from the platform.

"Wait a minute... do they even know how to plant these? I hope they don't just eat the wheat seeds—those are meant for planting! If only I could communicate with them..."

As Jian Feng muttered to himself, he suddenly made a surprising discovery: a peculiar new feature had appeared—a yellow shopping cart icon situated right at the top of his computer screen.

*Click!*

With a single click, two lines of text instantly popped up:

[Exchange 100 Sacred Faith Points for 500 Yuan]

[Exchange 500 Sacred Faith Points for 3,000 Yuan]

"What?! I can actually exchange points for real money just by playing a game?!"

Jian Feng's expression clearly showed his disbelief; exchanging a yuan or two would be one thing, but these were substantial sums!

However, after recalling the sequence of events that had transpired, he decided to put his faith in it after all—especially since his bank balance had indeed mysteriously increased by 5,000 yuan just this very morning, thanks to this very game!

"Ouch!"

Still skeptical, he pinched his own cheek to confirm that he wasn't dreaming.

If he had this game, wouldn't that mean he'd never have to work again? Once the civilization within the game developed further, he could simply sit back while they offered him daily tributes—lying at home, clicking his mouse, and effortlessly raking in a monthly income of a million yuan!

At the mere thought of this, the corner of his mouth suddenly curled upward; a look of pure delight washed over his face as he leaped into the air with sheer excitement!

"Man, this is the life!"

Jian Feng continued to watch the progress of the humans in his sandbox game, all while savoring a delicious kiln-roasted chicken. Just when he thought everything had settled into a calm, a wild boar suddenly burst into the humans' dwellings.

*Smash! Crash! Thud—*

In a mere instant, the grass-thatched huts were completely demolished.

"Ah!"

"Ah!"

More than twenty humans fled in terror toward the Sacred Altar; scrambling onto it, they all fell to their knees.

"Oh, Great Maple God, save us!"

"God, please save us!"

[Great Creator God, your believers are crying out to you for aid. Please make judicious use of your [Divine Miracles] and [Divine Gifts].]

The text vanished as quickly as it had appeared, just as the wild boar charged madly toward the Sacred Altar.

"You puny boar! How dare you act so insolently in the presence of a god? Watch this—I'm about to pull off a truly god-like maneuver!"

Muttering to himself, he swiftly moved his mouse cursor to the rightmost slot, clicked it several times, and finally locked his gaze upon [Combustion: 15].

"15 points of Sacred Faith! That translates to 75 yuan in real money—one single skill is going to cost me 75 yuan! Screw it—my believers are far more important!"

Jian Feng gritted his teeth and clicked the icon.

[Please hold down the slot containing the [Divine Miracle] you wish to cast, then drag it to your desired target location.]

Following the on-screen instructions, he held down the icon and dragged it directly onto the rampaging wild boar.

[Successfully cast: [Divine Miracle: Combustion]]

The sky above the Sacred Altar darkened as a massive spatial vortex suddenly materialized. A torrent of flames erupted from within it, surging straight toward the wild boar! "Aooo—"

The wild boar halted its charge toward the Sacred Altar; rolling on the spot, it let out a wretched, agonizing shriek.

Upon witnessing this scene, every human present leaped up in jubilation, only to immediately fall back to their knees before the Sacred Altar, bowing toward the raised platform situated within it.

"We thank God Feng for his intervention!"

"We offer our deepest gratitude to Lord God Feng!"

Watching this unfold, Jian Feng felt an inexplicable surge of exhilarating joy welling up inside him—for as they spoke, their voices actually made sound!

"Is this what it feels like to be a god? It's absolutely awesome!"

As he spoke, he grinned broadly and took a hearty bite of the roasted chicken he held, then turned his gaze back toward his computer screen.

On the screen, the wild boar lay sprawled on the ground; though the flames engulfing its body had yet to subside, the humans—armed with wooden clubs—swarmed in en masse!

"Are they trying to beat it to death?! It's already been burned to a crisp!"

Seeing their aggressive stance, Jian Feng felt a twinge of alarm. With twenty people, let alone a single wild boar, they could have taken down two such beasts—provided, of course, that they were united.

It was a pity, however, that their weaponry remained limited to the most primitive wooden clubs; it would be ideal if he could arrange for them to acquire some proper weapons in the future.

[Congratulations, Great Creator God! Your believers have successfully harnessed the flames and have earned 100 points of Divine Faith.]

A line of text appeared on the computer screen, catching Jian Feng's attention. His gaze swept across the scene, and to his astonishment, he noticed that one of the humans' wooden clubs had actually caught fire—and the group was now gathered around the flame, cheering in celebration! "It's divine fire!"

"The fire of the gods!"

Hearing their excited shouts, Jian Feng felt a surge of delight. To think that he—someone who, in reality, was the type to be completely ignored even when speaking in a crowd—had now actually become a god in the eyes of others!

[Congratulations, Great Creator God! Your believers have obtained roasted meat. You have gained 10 Divine Faith Points.]

In a daze, another notification popped up on his computer screen. Glancing over, he was astonished to see all twenty of his believers gathered around the roasted wild boar, tearing into it with ravenous bites, while the flame they had just acquired stood planted in the ground nearby.

Watching this scene, Jian Feng found the raw, bloody nature of it somewhat unsettling—though, considering they were still living in a primitive society, such behavior was really nothing out of the ordinary.

The unappetizing spectacle completely ruined Jian Feng's appetite for the clay-baked chicken he had been eating; after witnessing *that*, who could possibly stomach another bite?!

"Huh! What is this?!"

Jian Feng was surprised to discover a new item appearing in the leftmost slot at the bottom of his screen; he immediately moved his mouse cursor over to investigate.
