Chapter 3 - I Just Wanted to Start a Band, but I Was Transported to Japan.

"Kono bangumi wa, goran no suponsaa no teikyo de ookuri shimasu..."

I was definitely in a car accident. A massive one. I was hit by a truck, sustaining injuries so severe the bleeding shouldn't have stopped. But why am I hearing Japanese...?

Let's try to be logical about this.

I was hit by a truck, and when I wake up, the first thing I hear is Japanese...? I don't feel any pain. I look around, and there's a photograph of me and my late father. What is this... some kind of space-time distortion?

'But I'm sure I threw all those family photos away...'

No matter how I look at it, unless I've sustained brain damage and I'm experiencing a hallucination, this situation makes zero sense. I was pulverized by a truck, yet here I am waking up perfectly fine at home? Rationally, it's impossible.

First, I'll head to the bathroom and wash my face. That should clear my head—

"What the hell...? Why is Kurt Cobain in here?"

I stare into the mirror. The reflection looking back at me is a man with a muscular build and the face of Kurt Cobain. A remarkably youthful version, at that.

Startled, I scramble back into the room to find my phone.

"Good God... it's not a Galaxy?"

I've been a die-hard Samsung user my entire life... and yet here I am holding an ancient LG folder phone.

"And it's not the 2020s either...?"

It's clear now. I've been transported through time and space. And specifically to Japan in the early 2000s.

'I should head outside if I want to figure out what's going on, right?'

To be honest, while the situation is baffling, I can't help the surge of excitement. What kind of country is Japan? It's the land of Rock. For decades, the music industry there was anchored by rock music—the very birthplace of countless legendary bands!

Unlike Korea, the Japanese music meta was led by the rock scene.

There was no systemic suppression of the genre, and the school club environment allowed young talent to pick up instruments early. It was a perfect virtuous cycle for rock to flourish.

'Great bands are always born from the curiosity and rebellious spirit of the youth!'

As a lifelong rock purist who pursued the genre until my dying breath, this was nothing short of a miracle. I could finally hear the authentic sound of Japanese bands with my own ears! Given the scale of their rock scene compared to Korea, the pay would be better too. My quality of life would be incomparable to my previous existence.

No matter how I look at it, this is a gift from God.

'Forget the American Dream! From now on, it's the Japan Dream!'

But then again, life never goes according to plan...

It seems I've been transported to a world where Rock doesn't exist....

And why on earth are there stars embedded in that idol's eyes...? Is she wearing special contacts?

Wait... the character from that anime song I covered... didn't she have stars in her eyes too?
