Chapter 10 - The ArchSorcerer

Over in Manhattan, the remnants of the defeated Reptilian army return to their homebase in the sewers. Meanwhile, three Reptilians ascend up a flight of pyramid-like stairs towards a massive stone structure equipped with pillars and arches.

They walk down its massive halls and enter into a room housing the ruins of an ancient temple. Inside the temple was a cobra wearing a headdress and jewelry looking at the script etched in the stone wall. The Reptilians kneel before him and bow their heads.

One begins to speak. "ArchSorcerer, I regret to inform you that we have failed to conquer the Cat Clan's territory."

The ArchSorcerer snaps his head back and screeched, "What did you sssay?!

"How could we have failed? We sssent our bessst ssspiesss to ssscout the area, we ssshould've had a foolproof battle plan. What happened?!"

"The spies never made it back," said one of the Reptilians.

"Nergal! Get over here!" screamed the ArchSorcerer.

"Lord Nergal didn't survive the battle, my lord." answered the Reptilian. "MacLeod stabbed him in the chest."

The initial shock silenced the cobra until he was seized with venomous anger, "How on earth could a Reptilian legion lossse a battle to a pathetic pack of furballsss?!" he asked.

"The cats weren't alone, my lord" said the second Reptilian. "They were led by a strange animal, some tall squirrel looking thing."

"He killed Python!" exclaimed the third one. "The critter was a fighting machine!"

The ArchSorcerer's eyes grew wide. "What… kind of creature did you say it was?" he asked sternly.

"Uh.. a tall squirrel with a long furry tail," answered the second Reptilian.

The Arch Serpent Sorcerer grabbed the Reptilian by the neck with his tail and pulled him close and yelled in his face, "I want you to find this creature and bring him to me, dead or alive!"

Then the cobra threw the Reptilian across the room.

"Do it now!!!" he screamed.

The three Reptilians scurry away as they say "Uh.. yes master! Right away, sire!"

After the underlings left the throne room, the ArchSorcerer's anger faded and a look of concern came over her face. He slithered over to a display case just outside the temple. Inside was a broken off slab of a stone mural which depicted a mammalian creature decapitating a serpent with a feather-shaped blade.

He scowls at the image and whispers to himself, "Has it already begun?"
