Admiral Sakazuki truly lived up to his title as the Marines' strongest. The offensive power of his Magma-Magma Fruit was terrifying, leaving horrific burns on his enemy—yet even that wasn't enough to stop the "cheat-like" Buggy.
After that domineering Admiral was blasted into the sea, he never resurfaced. Victory in this earth-shaking battle belonged to the pirates.
"Tsk tsk tsk… I almost got killed by a Marine Admiral. Sakazuki, go feed the Sea Kings at the bottom of the ocean!"
Repeated use of his Chop-Chop Fruit had drained Buggy's stamina to a critical level. His towering four-meter body swayed where he stood. If not for sheer willpower, he would've collapsed already.
From afar, the surviving members of the Buggy Pirates—watching through telescopes—erupted into thunderous cheers. No one had expected their captain to actually pull it off.
"Captain Buggy is invincible!"
"Even an Admiral isn't a match for Lord Buggy—we're the strongest pirate crew!"
Nearby, Alvida trembled with excitement. She had never seen such a powerful man. The men she once dominated were all weaklings—like the deserter Koby.
"Devil Fruit awakening is incredible… I'm a Devil Fruit user too—I want to learn it! Lord Buggy is too strong!"
While the pirates celebrated wildly, the Marines aboard the warships looked like they'd lost everything. Their pillar had fallen. An Admiral—defeated head-on.
And worse—any Devil Fruit user who fell into the sea without rescue faced certain death.
"Bring a few men with me to save Admiral Sakazuki! The rest of you stall them—we still have a chance!"
Vice Admiral Onigumo leapt into the sea without hesitation. Dozens of soldiers followed, taking a deep breath before diving. Each of them was prepared to die—if they failed to recover Sakazuki, they would rather drown than return.
"Gunners, prepare! Fire at Buggy!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The warships roared to life again. Hundreds of shells rained toward the shore.
"What a bunch of fools courting death… You've pissed me off."
"Split World!"
That eerie and terrifying power activated once more. The incoming cannonballs were sliced apart midair—utterly ineffective.
"Let your Admiral sleep forever beneath the sea. Don't even think about saving him."
In a flash, Buggy appeared at the shoreline. Fighting an Admiral was troublesome—but he absolutely couldn't allow him to survive.
"Dual Split!"
The power of the Chop-Chop Fruit compressed into two concentrated forces—compression meant greater destructive power.
The sea itself… was split apart.
And not just the sea—the nearby Marine warship was cleaved clean in two. The unlucky soldiers aboard were bisected instantly, their bodies torn apart alongside the ship.
Even the Marines diving beneath the surface weren't spared. Several were cut in half midwater, their blood staining the ocean red. Soon, their remains would wash ashore.
Vice Admiral Onigumo, diving at full speed, was also struck. His legs were severed instantly. Gritting his teeth against the unbearable pain, he used sheer willpower to seal the wounds temporarily—otherwise, he would bleed to death.
Buggy's advanced Observation Haki swept the seabed, quickly locking onto this "fish that slipped through the net."
"Tch… still going even without legs? That stubborn, huh?"
Just as Buggy raised his hand to strike again—
"I won't let you have your way. Buggy, your opponent is me!"
Smoker transformed into a stream of white smoke, surging forward to restrain him. The smoke obscured Buggy's vision, buying precious time for the Marines.
"A Logia user without Haki… and you dare stand before me? Aren't you underestimating me a bit?"
Buggy's fist, coated in Armament Haki, swept through the smoke—
"Got you. Take this!"
A massive blackened punch slammed into Smoker's chest. Against Haki, Logia intangibility meant nothing. The once top-tier ability was forcibly weakened.
Smoker was blasted away, his body flying toward the sea.
"White Smoke Launcher!"
He barely managed to transform again midair, propelling himself upward just before touching the water. But the damage was severe—he coughed blood uncontrollably, his chest visibly caved in.
"And you call yourself a Marine captain… think you can take another punch?"
The Marines aboard the warships refused to stand by any longer. These elite forces—trained in both Armament and Observation Haki, masters of the Six Powers—charged forward without hesitation.
Using Moonwalk, they took to the sky. Some unleashed Rankyaku slashes, while others closed in for melee combat. They didn't fear death—if they could buy even a moment, their sacrifice would be worth it.
"Brothers, charge! Hold him back—we win if we stall him!"
"The Marines never fear pirates!"
"Buggy, don't underestimate us!"
Watching the charging soldiers, Buggy's grin widened.
"Keh keh keh… then go join your Admiral on the road to hell."
"Split Net!"
An invisible web spread outward, engulfing the advancing Marines.
Those without advanced Armament Haki couldn't fully defend themselves—instantly sliced into dozens of pieces. Only a single severed hand still gripping a sword remained intact.
In a single attack, fifty to sixty Marines were wiped out.
Even the survivors—those with stronger Haki—had no time to grieve. Their blades turned black as they fought on.
From afar, Marine snipers fired bullets coated in Haki. Everyone was risking their lives for justice.
"Split Cannon!"
The few Marines who closed the distance tried to resist with Haki—but how could they compare to an Admiral? The moment their defense faltered, even slightly, they were doomed.
Explosions of blood filled the air.
One by one, they fell.
No miracles occurred.
These elite Marines died gloriously before Buggy, their scorching blood staining his body.
The shores of the Loguetown Marine base…
had become a slaughterhouse.
