Chapter 1 - Asiya

Exactly at midnight, a heavy THUD echoed through the thirteenth floor of Ryan City, coming not from outside but from within the walls of a quiet apartment. Asiya shifted under her blanket and frowned in irritation, already disturbed by the sound as if even sleep refused to stay peaceful around her. The room remained pitch dark, filled with a silence that felt unnatural rather than calm.

From the corner of the room, a faint sob broke the stillness. A small figure stood there, blurred by darkness, watching without moving. Asiya slowly opened her eyes and spoke in a lazy, uninterested tone.

"Hey… why are you crying in the middle of the night?"

The figure did not answer. It only stood there, staring silently, its presence strangely unsettling.

Asiya clicked her tongue and sat up with annoyance. She opened her drawer, took out a chocolate, and tossed it toward the figure.

"Here. Eat this and leave."

The child froze for a moment. Then it slowly wiped its face. But what fell was not tears—it was blood. Before anything could be said, it smiled unnaturally, picked up the chocolate, and vanished into the darkness.

Silence returned, heavier than before.

Asiya exhaled and turned slightly, clearly irritated.

"Ugh… the AC is acting up again."

She waved her hand lazily in the air.

"Hey. If you're already here, at least do something useful. Give me some cold air."

The moment she said it, something appeared beside her bed. A woman stood there, her long black hair covering her face completely. Slowly, her mouth opened, and a freezing breath filled the room, dropping the temperature instantly.

Asiya pulled her blanket closer, her voice calm and sleepy.

"Better…"

Within seconds, she fell asleep as if nothing had happened.

The woman remained still, staring at her.

"…Is this girl even human?"

From the doorway, a child's voice answered coldly.

"No."

A pause.

"She's more terrifying than us."

Asiya had always been different since childhood. She could see things others couldn't, and at first, it terrified her. She cried every night, begging someone to believe her, but no one did. Slowly, people began to avoid her.

Only her family stayed.

Her father once held her and spoke calmly.

"You don't need to fear them."

"You are strong."

"They should fear you instead."

"Scare them back."

From that day, something in her changed.

She looked soft and harmless on the outside, with a gentle smile and calm eyes, the kind of girl no one would suspect. But she could see fragments of the future—enough to avoid danger before it ever arrived.

She never used it for anything unnecessary. She didn't need to. She was the daughter of Lei Feng, a powerful CEO, with everything already within her reach. Her brothers were successful, her family influential, and she lived protected like a princess.

At first, no one believed her abilities. Then her predictions started coming true one after another.

People began to fear her quietly.

Yet she remained lazy, often ignoring the strange things around her as if they were nothing important.

"Go away," she would sometimes say. "I'm too tired today."

But when she did act, her entire presence changed—calm, cold, and deeply unsettling.

Her phone suddenly rang.

She answered without opening her eyes.

"Hello…"

Her mother's voice came through sharply.

"Baby, wake up. It's already morning."

"And come home today."

"Your father is angry."

Asiya blinked slowly.

"Oh? What did I do this time?"

"Come home and find out."

The call ended.

Asiya stared at the ceiling for a moment, then a faint smile formed on her lips.

"Looks like today won't be boring."
