Chapter 80 - The Queen's Jealousy

*But how was that possible?* The mysterious figure had not shared any news about Westeros with Daenerys, and had even gone against her wishes to save the Stark mother and son. Who was he? And what was his true objective?

Tyrion suddenly felt the Small Council chamber grow several degrees colder. A sense of eerie wrongness permeated the air, as if an invisible pair of eyes were silently watching everything they did.

Seeing Tyrion's awkward expression under everyone's gaze, Drogon couldn't help but facepalm with his wing: [This is all my fault!]

Daenerys didn't hear Tyrion's answer, but she did hear Drogon's inner thoughts. However, she couldn't understand them, wondering in confusion: *What does the Red Wedding have to do with a pot?*

"W... Walder's plan for the Red Wedding must have been leaked," Tyrion explained haltingly, trying to organize his thoughts. "Robb must have been prepared, which is why he was able to escape."

Until he understood the full story, he couldn't reveal that the mysterious figure had told Varys, who in turn had sent a message to Robb. He could only wait until he had more information about the mysterious figure.

"Walder has truly grown old if he's letting information like this leak," Barristan couldn't help but sigh.

He didn't want Robb and Catelyn to die. Like Varys, he deeply respected Eddard's character and felt sympathy for the Stark mother and son. He simply found the whole affair highly suspicious.

When Eddard had been arrested and accused of treason, Barristan had defended him, even attempting to stop Cersei from using the City Watch to seize him. For this, he had been stripped of his position as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Only later did he enter Daenerys's service through Illyrio, the Magister of Pentos.

After listening to Tyrion's account, Daenerys asked for other news. Tyrion continued, recounting the Purple Wedding—in which he played a central role—and the subsequent Trial by Combat.

As Tyrion spoke, an awkward silence settled over the group. After all, it must have been difficult for him to recount these events as the one directly involved.

Yet Tyrion showed no embarrassment. He felt incredibly fortunate just to be alive; this slight awkwardness was nothing compared to the shock of suddenly bursting into a council meeting.

Amidst their discomfort, the others found themselves unexpectedly sympathetic. They had never imagined that Tyrion, a Lannister himself, could be at such deadly odds with his own father and sister.

Tyrion continued by sharing what else he knew about Westeros, giving everyone a general understanding of the situation there.

Shireen listened intently as Tyrion spoke. She was stunned to learn that his own father and sister were trying to have him executed, and she couldn't help but feel a kinship with him in their shared suffering.

When Tyrion finished, Daenerys turned to Shireen and asked with genuine concern how she had come to know Drogon.

Surprised by Daenerys's sudden interest, Shireen happily recounted Drogon's first visit to Dragonstone. She described how he had come to see her often after that, bringing her treats and even flying her to Pentos and Meereen to meet Tyrion.

She knew she had to keep Drogon's ability to write a secret, so she glossed over certain details.

As Shireen spoke, Daenerys kept glancing at Drogon, who was perched on her shoulder. She hadn't realized he had visited Dragonstone so early on—no wonder he had been gone for so long back then.

Hearing that Drogon had visited Shireen frequently, brought her food, and even flown her across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys felt a sudden wave of discomfort and shot him a sharp look.

At first, Drogon didn't mind his Mother's gaze, but he soon realized with a jolt of alarm that her eyes were filled with a murderous glint.

Is the Mother of Dragons jealous? Drogon never expected her to be jealous of a little girl. He hurriedly shot Shireen a meaningful glance, but how could she possibly understand it? She continued excitedly recounting the happy times she'd spent with him.

The others, hearing Shireen's tale, also looked at Drogon in surprise. They hadn't expected him to have flown to Dragonstone so early and spent so much time with Stannis's daughter.

Tyrion and Shireen had both been arranged by Varys to stay in Pentos. Drogon had escorted them from there all the way to Meereen.

As Shireen spoke, she didn't mention that her uncle had been burned alive by her father, Stannis. No one knew why Shireen had left her father, who had already been crowned king.

Tyrion could hear the omissions in Shireen's story. She didn't mention being delivered to a remote beach on Dragonstone by the Onion Knight, then being met by someone who took her to Tidepool Island, before flying to Pentos on Drogon.

Why was she hiding the part about the mysterious person contacting the Onion Knight and Varys? Could the mysterious person have told her to do so?

Tyrion was now certain that Drogon was definitely connected to the mysterious person, yet he still couldn't figure out who it was.

After the meeting concluded, Daario and the High Sparrow immediately assembled their forces and set sail to support Yunkai and Astapor.

Tyrion was not assigned any position, while Shireen went to help Missandei establish the academy.

Shortly after the meeting adjourned, Daenerys received a report: the massive riots in Meereen had ceased, thanks to the deterrent presence of Rhaego and Viserion. Only isolated street battles remained, which were swiftly suppressed by the Unsullied.

Daenerys hadn't expected Shireen's plan to be so effective, instantly resolving her most pressing headache.

Upon hearing the riots had been quelled, Drogon went out and brought the two dragons before Daenerys. Through a combination of gestures and muttering to himself, he proposed that the dragons accompany Daario and the High Sparrow to Yunkai and Astapor, respectively, to aid in the cities' defense.

Daenerys was initially reluctant to let Rhaego and Viserion fight alone. Only after Drogon's strong insistence did she agree to let the two dragons join the army.

Drogon had trained them rigorously from a young age. Though they were now barely the size of horses, their combat skills and fire-breathing abilities were impressive. Their agility and resilience far surpassed their untrained state, making them ready for battle.

Furthermore, Daenerys had previously instructed Varys's Little Birds to scout Slaver's Bay and the New and Old Ghis for any scorpions that could threaten the dragons. They had found none, which was another reason she agreed to let them deploy.

With the news that the dragons would be joining the campaign, Daario and the High Sparrow felt even more confident about the upcoming siege.

While Daenerys was being harried by the harpies, Cersei, the Regent Queen Mother in King's Landing, was also struggling.

Without the Mountain's protection, Cersei felt unsafe wherever she went. After her father Tywin's death, she noticed that the great nobles of King's Landing looked at her and her son Tommen differently—their gazes lacked the deference they had once shown.

Margaery, that little Highgarden bitch, had also become more arrogant in her presence.

After Tywin's death, Cersei had broken her own engagement to Loras, the Knight of Flowers, Margaery's brother. She had even wanted to cancel the upcoming wedding between Tommen and Margaery, but Jaime had stopped her, arguing that their father had only recently died and King's Landing needed Highgarden as an ally.
