Liya didn't know whether to start crying or stop smiling.
After five long years, she was finally going to see her father again.
Her fingers tightened around the edge of her dress as the taxi stopped at the airport. Her mother and brother stepped out, but Liya stood still for a second, her heart racing faster than ever.

"You've grown so much," he said softly, placing his hand on her head.
Liya laughed, even though her eyes were already filling with tears.

The next day, Liya went to school with a bright smile.
She handed out chocolates to her classmates, saving a few extra for her best friend, Rose.
"My dad came back," she whispered proudly.
