Chapter 1 - chapter 1:A Deal Written Beyond Reality

Chapter 1: A Deal Written BeyondReality

Death did not come with pain.

That was the first thing Kai Yamato realized.

There was no burning agony, no suffocating darkness, no desperate struggle for breath. One moment, he had been alive—standing on the edge of an ordinary life filled with unfinished goals, quiet regrets, and fleeting distractions—and the next…

Everything stopped.

No sound.

No light.

No sense of time.

It wasn't even darkness.

It was nothingness.

And yet… he existed.

A strange awareness floated within the void, detached from a body he could no longer feel. There was no heartbeat, no breath, no sensation of movement—only thought. Pure, uninterrupted thought.

"…So this is death."

His voice did not echo. In fact, there was no sound at all. The words simply were, as if the void itself acknowledged them.

Then—

Something changed.

A ripple.

Subtle at first, like a disturbance in still water. Then sharper. More defined.

The nothingness cracked.

Light seeped through the fracture, spreading unnaturally fast until the void itself seemed to peel away like shattered glass. The world reconstructed itself in an instant.

White.

Endless white.

Kai found himself standing—or at least existing in a standing position—within an infinite expanse that had no boundaries. No horizon. No sky. No ground. Yet he stood firmly, as if reality itself was accommodating him.

"…Interesting."

The voice came from everywhere.

And nowhere.

It wasn't loud, yet it carried absolute authority—cold, indifferent, and faintly amused.

Kai turned.

Before him, something took shape.

A figure.

No… calling it a figure was inaccurate. It was a presence, something that wore the outline of a human form but lacked all defining features. Its body shimmered like a distortion in space, constantly shifting, as though reality itself struggled to contain it.

Kai's instincts screamed.

Danger.

Not the kind that made you run—but the kind that made running meaningless.

"…Who are you?" Kai asked, his tone steady despite the overwhelming pressure.

The entity tilted its head slightly, as if studying him.

"No panic. No denial. No pleading," it observed. "You're adapting faster than most."

"That wasn't my question."

A pause.

Then, a faint chuckle.

"Very well."

The being took a step forward—or perhaps the space between them simply collapsed.

"I am what your kind has conveniently labeled… a Random Omnipotent Being."

Kai didn't react outwardly, but internally, the words registered immediately.

ROB.

Of course.

The absurdity of the situation almost made him laugh—but he didn't.

Because something about this being made one thing painfully clear:

This was not fiction.

This was real.

"Then I'm dead," Kai said plainly.

"Yes."

No hesitation.

No emotion.

Just truth.

Kai exhaled slowly—though he wasn't sure he even had lungs anymore.

"…What happens next?"

The ROB observed him in silence for a moment, as if weighing something invisible.

Then—

"You interest me."

Not praise.

Not kindness.

Just… curiosity.

"And because of that," the being continued, "I will offer you an opportunity."

The space around them shifted slightly, the white expanse pulsing as if reacting to its words.

"A second life."

Kai's eyes narrowed slightly.

There it was.

"…With conditions," he said.

The ROB's presence flickered, almost like a smile.

"Of course."

A brief pause.

"Three wishes."

The words hung in the air, heavy with meaning.

Kai didn't answer immediately.

Instead, he thought.

Carefully.

Because something about this situation felt wrong.

Too easy.

Too convenient.

"What's the price?" he asked.

The ROB did not answer immediately.

Instead, it stepped closer, its presence pressing down on reality itself.

"You will discover that yourself."

Not reassuring.

Not in the slightest.

But it was enough.

Kai understood.

This was not a gift.

This was a transaction.

"…Fine," he said. "Then I'll choose."

"Proceed."

Kai closed his eyes.

His mind moved rapidly, analyzing possibilities, discarding useless ideas, focusing only on what mattered most.

Survival.

Growth.

Control.

Then, he spoke.

"My first wish…"

The space around him subtly trembled.

"…I want a Player System."

The ROB remained silent.

Kai continued.

"A system that allows growth without limits. It must include stats, skills, and missions."

He paused briefly before adding the most important part:

"The missions will not be mandatory. I choose whether to accept them or not. If I complete them, I receive rewards. If I fail after accepting… I accept appropriate punishment."

The air grew heavier.

"…Additionally," Kai said calmly, "the system must have a world travel function. I want the ability to move between different worlds at will."

A long silence followed.

Then—

"Accepted."

The word echoed like a law being written into existence.

Something invisible locked into place.

Kai felt it.

A presence.

Something that now belonged to him.

"My second wish," he continued without hesitation, "is the Akashic Record of Infinite Entertainment."

For the first time, the ROB seemed… intrigued.

"Explain."

"A complete archive," Kai said, "of all entertainment from my previous world—anime, movies, web series, manga, comics… everything."

His voice sharpened slightly.

"Perfect versions. Completed. No missing endings. No unfinished stories."

A brief pause.

"Granted."

Information surged—faint, distant, but present. Like an endless library waiting to be accessed.

Kai didn't react.

He moved on.

"My third wish…"

This was the most dangerous one.

"I want a Magic Space."

The atmosphere shifted.

"A personal domain," Kai continued, "where I am omnipotent."

Even the ROB remained silent now.

"No one can enter or leave unless I allow it," he added. "Absolute control. Absolute authority."

The white world trembled.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then—

"…You aim high."

Kai didn't respond.

"Very well."

The ROB raised what might have been its hand.

"Granted."

Reality shattered.

Not metaphorically.

Literally.

The white space cracked like glass, fractures spreading endlessly as something deeper, darker, and far more complex revealed itself beneath.

Kai felt it.

Three forces anchoring themselves to his existence.

The System.

The Records.

The Space.

All real.

All his.

Then—

The ROB spoke again.

Its voice colder than before.

"Remember this, Kai Yamato."

The world around him collapsed into darkness.

"This is not a story."

Fragments of light spiraled.

"This is not a game."

A pressure gripped his very existence.

"You have been given power."

A whisper followed.

"But power always demands a price."

[Initializing Player System…]

[Host Identified: Kai Yamato]

[Binding Complete]

A soft, calm voice echoed within his mind.

Unlike the ROB, it was gentle.

Warm.

Almost human.

"Hello, Master."

A pause.

"I am Raphael, your personal assistant."

And then—

Kai Yamato fell.

Not into darkness.

But into a new world.
