The first stone came out of the dry cleaner's foundation at 2:47 AM.
Yeon Yujun pressed his palm flat against the concrete, found the resonance point the same way he had across the street two days ago, and pushed. The stone dropped into his palm, pulsed twice, went dark.
Seo Hwigeon held the collection case open without being asked.
They'd been doing this for forty minutes — moving through the district in a pattern Ki Yeonbom had mapped out remotely, hitting each site in sequence to prevent the array from registering a partial disruption. No words beyond what was necessary. Yeon Yujun located, Seo Hwigeon covered the street. The stone went in the case. They moved.
It had a rhythm to it.
"Next one's the pharmacy building," Yeon Yujun said, sealing the case latch.
"I know." Seo Hwigeon had been navigating without the map on his phone, which Yeon Yujun had noticed around the third site and hadn't commented on yet.
He commented on it now.
"You've been memorizing the coordinates."
