In the vast majority of wars, the defender has the advantage over the attacker.
An attacker needs at least three times the force of a defender to subdue them. Simply defeating them is a simple matter, but to achieve a crushing victory and capture the enemy territory, an attacker would need five times the force to even have a chance of victory.
And Mitomok's world total score was a little over 4 million points.
It is still far short of the roughly 6 million points of the Viper. However, at around 2/3, it's a fight worth fighting against.
So, instead of carefully selecting his opponents, Mitomok decided he would fight anyone. He believed that it would be impossible to instantly subdue any world that appeared.
The terrain of Mitomok is a jungle specialized for defense, and all the residents used slingshots.
It is a weapon that is easy to use and has a guaranteed level of combat power.
The strategy of destroying the ecosystem of the non-humans also does not work well there.
Just as the gum-eating snake was created, Mitomok could instantly create a counterpart by expending enough divine power, whether it was by sowing weeds or using hybridization strategies.
Even if it's not as powerful as a mythical trait that ignores the rules, a legendary trait still provides a powerful advantage.
So, if you look closely, there were three issues at stake in this conflict.
First, Vein will likely win this match. The weight class is quite significant. Even excluding player skill, Vein's ecosystem is far stronger, and even comparing traits, the Viper has a clear advantage. This is almost certainly a foregone conclusion.
Second, the damage he would incur against Mitomok would be significant. From a combat perspective, Mitomok is a better player than Ogolaot. Even without Vein, it could have been worse than not fighting at all. This is a common downfall for war-oriented players.
Thirdly, it is probably more difficult to break Mitomok before dimensional fusion than when fighting Ogolaot.
It will be hard. It's because of the nature of civilization. Ogolaot, being a plains-based civilization, was not suited for defense. However, Mitomok's world is a jungle. While it's certainly easier to harass using the swampy terrain, complete occupation and subjugation are more difficult.
Will the Demon King, the master of the Great Extinction, stop here, or will he continue to advance at breakneck speed? In a sense, this match could be said to determine his prowess.

"Your Majesty, do you really have to finish off your opponent in this match?"
What the hell is this angel talking about? Aren't you supposed to be the one wishing for my victory?
"I'm not saying you shouldn't win. I'm just saying that there seems to be a more rational strategy."
"Let's hear his rational strategy."
"Just urge the opposing player to surrender now."
Ah... something like that.
"The opposing player knows it too. He can't win. Or, even if he doesn't know it, he'll realize it after a certain point. The dessert desert of [Vein] is at least 50 times more difficult to penetrate than the jungle terrain of [Mitomok].
There's also『Divine Unity』which can perfectly grasp the location of an opponent who enters his world, and『Creation of Heaven and Earth』which has a terrible scope and makes map-making impossible, continuously warping the terrain even when an opponent enters, so that they can never reach the nectar spring…
The best outcome Mitomok can achieve from this fight is to simply endure endlessly and become a subordinate god."
Of course, I understand that much.
"Regardless of whether it is possible or not, Mitomok will definitely decide to pursue me and drag out the battle like crazy.
It's different from Ogolaot. Ogolaot was intent on winning, so he got caught up in the strategy. But Mitomok, although he seems to be playing hardball, actually has no intention of winning.
Then, as time goes by, the protection period is reduced, and it becomes difficult to reorganize afterwards."
"After this is over, wouldn't it be better to negotiate and just let the fight pass on the condition that the opponent immediately disembarks in the next round?"
"Didn't you say something about the most crucial right of a player's subjective rights, the right to disembark?"
"Please listen carefully to what I said back then. I said that it is not possible to 'block' the right to disembark through a contract. Instead, it is possible to have a contract that negotiates the form of leaving."
Oh, is that so…
"So, why don't you just recommend him to disembark? They know they'll lose anyway if they go all the way.
Since you have shown enough of your power, if you tell him to disembark immediately with all his points intact, you will be able to immediately take over the enemy world.
Then, with no opposing gods and no special traits, the opposing civilization will be drastically weakened, and the Dessert Army can easily crush and devour it. They can also completely seize the opposing superior entities."
"What if the opponent can't judge the situation and absolutely would not surrender?"
"Isn't it better to just say it first? I haven't said anything yet because you, Vein, are winning anyway, but this game promotes dialogue cooperation, player interaction, politics, collusion, corruption, diplomacy, etc.
We embrace all of those elements very actively.
I'm not sure if the other person will accept it or not. Honestly, I think it's highly likely they won't. But whether they do or not, you have to make the offer. It doesn't cost you any resources to have a conversation."
I see. That's a very reasonable and logical strategy.
"Is that so?"
But I won't.
"Huh? Why?"
The Demon King does not negotiate with people.
"Isn't it you, or someone else, someone who gained points by consulting in the community and formed the Meteor Cartel?"
That's different from this. There are two contracts I always make in the community.
Absolute confidentiality treaty. Absolute non-aggression treaty.
If you don't do these two things, you're not even doing consulting. It's a two-way street. I don't talk to people I fight. In other words, those people are all "others".
If Mitomok had succumbed to my threats, he would have just remained another man.
"That may be true, but if extortion was a strategy in the first place, shouldn't negotiations be even more necessary? Extortion isn't like theft, where you first attack, kill, and then rob. You extort because you want to gain more profit more efficiently."
No. They are enemies who must be killed unconditionally if they don't yield to extortion.
The Meteor Cartel are lunatics who rose up solely to annihilate all opponents, so the threat is valid.
In other words, we can actually gain a reasonable advantage by pursuing a strategy by acting like we are crazy. I don't know about other guys, but I will never surrender and will make the opponent's world a living hell until the very end.
"But, if he disembarks in the next round, it doesn't matter, right? After all, neither your fellow players nor the subordinate gods will be able to talk about it."
"No. To say, 'I have never received a surrender from an opponent even in the disembarkation section (Verified Truth)', to prove that I am a demon king who does not understand any common sense, you absolutely must not accept a surrender."
To employ a madman strategy, you have to be a truly insane person. The angel's statement, "There's no risk in accepting surrender", would essentially become this:
Even if you make a huge mistake and lose, there is no risk. You just have to keep fighting and hold on.
"Vicious."
The angel was about to criticize me, but suddenly stopped.
"Now that I think about it, you decided not to surrender, Mr. Vein. He may be vicious, but he's not so pathetic as to surrender if he looks like he's going to lose."
Think of it as the spirit of the Demon King.
"But if you lose, your soul will be destroyed."
Skip that part.
Anyway, we've passed the point of rationality. Now it's a battle of wits with Mitomok.
Compared to conventional civilizations, the Dessert Army had one absolute advantage.
It's morale. Vein didn't care at all about the morale of the Dessert Army. They believed suicide was a civilized person's resignation from civilization and society, unable to survive any longer.
In the wild, you have to move to survive, whether you have the will to fight or not.
For other civilizations, war is a difficult and arduous task, but for the Dessert Army, it is simply a part of survival. It's like hunting is a lion's "livelihood".
Even the loud cries of the toads are just for reproduction, and all the disgusting methods of the gums are just a part of their survival activities.
So the Dessert Army could just keep dropping troops as they were. They were enough to put enough pressure on the enemy just by "surviving". Even when attacked, they'd just say, "It's the Dessert Desert after all. It gets worse by the day."
But, in contrast, opposing civilizations can't just let things slide when faced with such dire circumstances. Not every individual unconditionally submits to their gods. The
Even if they win a war, if they fight for too long, they'll eventually collapse from exhaustion. This is because the process of fighting and being hit in battle inevitably causes tremendous stress.
In that respect, as about 6 years passed, the dimensional gate stage, Vein continued to open dimensional gates based on his overwhelming divine power and strength.
Even in the dimensional gate stage, he can open more and bigger dimensional gates as time passes, so it is a truly endless barrage of monsters.
They kept putting gums in it too. Even though it's being eaten by a snake, all they had to do was put in the snake-eating gum. And that gum gets shot by a slingshot and falls down?
Still, it's beneficial to lower the enemy's morale. A fully evolved creature from the Dessert Army is not an easy creature to eat, as its body contains too many minerals.
And since the enemy used a slingshot, Vein sent in more sturdy creatures.
As always, the caramel camels are large and heavy, devouring all the plants.
Among the creams, they are particularly large and hardy. And despite their slow movements, they hide well in the jungle, reproduce quickly, and are optimized for destroying enemy forests. And there are various bugs and plant species.
The monsters couldn't be left out either. It seemed Mitomok was beginning to realize just how well the monsters could hide in the jungle. Yogur-Thoth regularly displayed his majesty, destroying the opposing worlds and constantly eroding their morale.
So, it's the 6th year of the dimensional gate stage, and it's time to slowly enter the dimensional passage stage.
The Cream Land, which stretched out into the other world, had expanded considerably. The jungles and wetlands of Mitomok had already become dessert deserts, or rather, dessert wetlands, or dessert jungles.
While jungles may be unfamiliar to Vein's species, they are already well-adapted to wetland terrain, allowing them to infiltrate the ecosystem with only a little bit of evolution. It's estimated that they have occupied approximately 16% of the world.
And Mitomok's army turned the desert of Vein, about 3% of the {Great Nature} jungle, into a complete wasteland.
The difference in terrain area between the two countries was 26 times, so in terms of area, the area occupied by Mitomok was 4.5 times larger than the areas occupied by Vein.
"What is this?"
Mito's second legendary trait.
To be honest, he didn't really want to choose this trait. But since all the other legendary traits in the shop were sold out, and there was nothing else to choose from, he had no choice but to choose it.
He didn't know it would be this beneficial. A trait that is only effective against the master of mass extinction. This could be considered a case of Mitomok getting extremely lucky.
So what is that characteristic?
『Eternal Curse: The
The original game was strong on short texts. That one line is legendary, and it's actually a trait with performance worth it.
"Why, why is the ground still dry even though we killed all the enemies?!"
The curse is baffling. In fact, even if the curse lasts infinitely, it's not impossible to remove. You can summon the mystics and have them resolve it for you. It's not that it can't be removed, it's just that it lasts indefinitely.
However, even if the curse has a greatly reduced duration and increased power, the power is still terrible, and the duration is eternal due to the power of the trait.
So the curse spellcasters of Mitomok's world could cast the highest level of curses in the game with infinite duration.
Above all, it was an eternal curse, and Vein's world had never had a specialized mystic to cure it. Shuk-Rimuras went to eat it while shouting, "More!" Then, he spat out the cursed earth and ran away.
Yogur-Thoth also didn't learn any of the more nefarious magics like cursing. Nyaltartep is a healer, but he heals biological things, not curses.
And there was something that could be said to be even more disastrous for Vein.
"We will win! Much of the enemy's world has already been reduced to rubble!"
"Praise the great god, Mitomok!"
"Kill them all!!!"
Six years into the Dimensional Gate era, the Mitomok race's morale hasn't waned in the slightest. In fact, their spirits have grown even stronger, perhaps sensing the effectiveness of their attacks.
"What in the Hitler and Goebbels are there among the opposing races?"
Vein was gradually becoming anxious.
