Chapter 89 - Ch.89 The Poor Man’s Strategy, The Rich Man’s Strategy (1)

My world score is currently at around 3.5 million points, and it will probably be around 5 million before the worlds collide. Considering the size of the world, this isn't a very good result. This is because the native creatures of {Great Nature} have not yet been subdued, and the population in the dessert army hasn't increased much due to a lack of magical power.

I asked the angel.

"If I disembark with 5 million points in round 9, how far can I go?"

"5 million points? That's more than just physical assets, I guess. Buying immortality, permanent health, superhuman strength, and telekinesis, all in one set, and you'll become the strongest leader on Earth, with no one you can't kill with your bare hands.

It would be the birth of a superhero, or a villain. But you'd probably die if you got hit by a nuclear bomb."

I see.

Then, let's aim for a higher round. As Mihun said, there will be no case of getting dropped in the 9th round.

Did he tell me not to think about 'how' to live, but 'what kind' of life to live? Mihun's words left a profound impression on me, but that was all.

Because I haven't reached my goal yet. At least, unless I can completely wipe out Earth without dying even if I get hit by a nuclear weapon, I won't even consider disembarking.

"The organizers don't judge whether your motives are good or bad. But your determination to move forward is a wonderful idea! So how will you improve this world?"

First of all, one of my clones has been continuously importing a huge amount of magic stones from other worlds.

You can't live off extortion alone. Those guys will eventually find another backer, and if their numbers are excessive, they can just declare war on someone they know and prevent future declarations of war.

According to the rules of the game, conflicts are 1:1. If someone has already declared war on another player, there is no way to cancel it.

In short, if you are too pushy, he will just declare war on anyone he knows and drop out in the next round.

So, I also appropriately took it upon myself. I even provided proper consultations. By doing so, I was able to somewhat replenish the magical power that was sorely lacking.

With the magic power I gained, it's time to move on to the next step.

I saw a fragment of God almost eaten away on the floor.

{Sand Desert LV.0:

A terrain filled with sand. It is now completely unusable.

Detailed Description: This terrain stores and magic. It is home to fragments of a being once called a god, and once stored powerful light and heat, but was completely destroyed by the player, [Vein].}

However, this sandy desert is a bit strange. I don't know what happens when I level it up. So, let's change perspectives and look up.

Looking up at the sky, it was clearly a fragment of God at the same point, but the explanation was different.

{Light and Shadow LV.0:

Connected to {Great Sky}, it strongly draws the flow of the

It's a desolate terrain. It's completely lost its function now.

Detailed Description: This terrain absorbs and magic. It is home to fragments of a being once called a god, and once possessed the ability to summon the power of the sun. However, it was completely destroyed by the player, [Vein].}

Is the debris on the ground or in the sky? It depends on your perspective.

In short, the Nectar Spring was in the middle of a Sand Desert. So what is a Sand Desert? And what is the sunlight pouring down there?

Nectar springs, deserts, valleys, aquifers, and so on, all of which are called 'Fragments of god', and somehow connected to the six {Untamed Lands}.

In short, if you dig straight down through the desert valley, you will reach the {Great Underground}.

The wind blowing into the valley is influenced by the {Great Ocean} even though there is no sea if you follow it.

And all living creatures living in the valley are under the influence of {Great Nature}.

There is a {Great Sky} in the sky above the valley.

All who die in the valley go to the afterlife through the {Great Boundary}. All who dream in the valley go to the {Great Dream}.

And the very top. The vast {Great Universe} is also connected here.

The fragments of god are said to be more closely connected to certain areas, or even be completely attached to them, but in reality they are connected to all seven of these {Untamed Lands}.

"You got there on your own. That's great."

To put it the other way around, the {Untamed Lands} itself has nothing to do with that.

If you expand {Great Nature}, there is no 'sky' above it and no 'underground' below it. There is only {Great Nature}.

So, my world, where {Great Nature} had expanded, suddenly became dark, and neither wind nor rain fell. This place was not adjacent to any other place, but rather, only to my world.

In other words, other terrains in my world, places where fragments of the gods are embedded, can draw on the power of other worlds as much as they want.

Focusing on that point.

I used all the knowledge I learned from the Seisaisa and the knowledge I personally possessed to create a space in {Great Nature} between my worlds made up of fragments of God.

I inserted it and reconnected all the points that were connected to the skies of the fragments of god, that is, the {Great Sky}.

Using all of my syrup and my astronomical knowledge, I'll re-weave the world itself.

With the power of 『Creation of Heaven and Earth』, anything is possible. They are not something I use often in my world, but there are many terrains that Mukite and Ogolaot have cultivated.

Like {Mirage}, a terrain that is connected to {Great Dream}, or a terrain with a huge amount of magical power like {High Pressured Magic Zone}.

By connecting terrains like this, the terrain level continues to rise. I'll continue to connect these increased terrain levels with syrup and cream land, connecting them again and again, unifying the entire world and increasing the amount of sunlight that my ecosystem desperately needs.

"This is a great endeavor! If it succeeds, it will bring enormous benefits."

And more than half of these attempts failed.

"Hmph"

First of all, the direction itself wasn't bad. It's a great idea.

But my world is too vast, and magic power is too small compared to it.

Even though so much magic was imported from outside, most of it was consumed by living things and circulated within the ecosystem, so there were no resources to move nature itself.

"So, in the end, we need a {Untamed Land} that is connected to the spirit world."

Yes. Simply put, after Round 11, I will be connected to a new region. At that point, it would be a good idea to immediately declare your connection to the {Great Sky} and connect the world.

Or, you could just find a player connected to {Great Sky} in the upcoming 9th round and plunder the world.

But both of these strategies are not feasible right away, and they require a win in the next round.

And you shouldn't play the game with this mindset. Sure, it'd be nice to defeat a decent opponent in the next round and win. But what if you don't?

What if I lose and end up becoming the opposing's subordinate, or what if the resistance is so tight that it becomes an even split?

What if I can't find an opponent who is a {Great Sky}, or even if I do find one, it turns out that the opponent is connected to {Great Nature} just like how I defeated the {Great Nature} holder in the 8th match, and the land just expands?

Where is the fool who would plan a strategy based on the assumption of winning?

Even though it is a game where there is no next time if you lose, the idea of 'I will win next time and get {Great Sky}, so let's plan our strategy with that in mind' is a truly foolish idea.

"That's smart. So what are you going to do?"

The simplest solution is to narrow the expansive land. This, however, is the most foolish. Because the productivity and abundant life that come from the expansive land are the foundation of my operations.

The second method is to simply pour out a large amount of divine power to maintain the amount of sunlight itself, powering the nectar ecosystem. This isn't a bad idea, but it's also ignorant.

Especially if I expend this much divine power, I might not be able to do much on my own during the next collision.

The third method is to create a being that will continuously build and weave the spiritual realm on my behalf.

{Dark Rims} already have the ability to build a territory and expand Creamland.

But there are no creatures that can actually rebuild the sky. It might be quite fun if I created something like that.

And the last resort: creating a separate ecosystem, not just the Nectar ecosystem.

"That's interesting, isn't it? Is there a reason for that?"

Simply put, it's the work of building a healthy ecosystem, like my home world, unaffected by mysteries like }Nectar} and {Flow}.

It's not like Earth's Triceratops or Tyrannosaurus got that big because of magic, right?

Even in an ecosystem without magic, there are creatures that are strong enough.

Then, a class of creatures that don't rely on magic will be born, and they will be able to occupy a different ecological position from jelly-like creatures.

Then, the plants and insects of Nyaltartep, who are currently struggling to thrive, will be able to live better.

"It's a wonderful idea. Creating a creature that can survive with almost no magic."

"It's also a great strategy."

The work began with the transformation of existing wetlands and the expanded natural habitats.

The numerous species of creatures that exist there are put into the dessert army by using the power of Nyaltartep, including plants and insects, and they are evolved into a 'less sweet' form, making it a dessert army that consumes less magic power.

A creature that could just eat a army of desserts. A bear that could eat jelly. A fox that hunts small puddings. Or just a really ordinary bird that sucks sap... things like that.

Tuning them was the easy part, as the only lifeforms I encountered were those explained by only biology, not magic. All my clones came together, tuning the vast expanse of nature I'd drawn into them, one by one.

They are a dessert army, but rather than relying on nectar and its ecosystem, they eat ordinary fruits, ordinary meat, and even the occasional jelly-like lifeform based on nectar, things that only ordinary bugs can eat.

This was all I had tried. Honestly, until then, I had no idea how much of a difference this would make.

That is, until a two-meter diameter toad suddenly appears in the wetlands.

"Uh?"

That toad was already big. It was much bigger than a human palm. But two meters in diameter? That's ridiculous. It's beyond the size that a living thing should be.

With its two-meter-long body, it began to hunt wild animals and creatures of the desert desert, which were much smaller.

"What is this?"

How did it get so huge? I don't know what I've just created.

I didn't want to waste my points by immediately receiving consultation from Seisaisa or Mihun, so I just watched in silence for a while. How did the giant toad appear?

The giant toad's lifespan was short, barely a tenth of that of other toads. Considering that toads don't even live that long, this was absurdly short.

But in nature, as long as they live long enough to reproduce, they can handle anything, even if it means a disability or a short lifespan. The giant toads succeeded in reproducing, leaving their genes in their egg sacs. The baby tadpoles born from those sacs were all ordinary when they were young, and as they grew, most of them became regular toads, but a very small number grew into giant toads.

Ordinary toads lived like ordinary toads, eating insects and small lizards, but the giant toads, with their large size and strength, could eat larger creatures and reproduce more with more energy.

The problem is, these two are clearly the same species, and no amount of genetic mutation would allow for such dramatic growth. What the heck?

I thought long and hard about this change and came to a conclusion.

"Is it magic?"

"Do you call everything that can't be explained biologically magic?"

"Okay. I'll call it a mystery."

If it can't be explained biologically, isn't it magic?

I've seen how these toads change, and it's been pretty consistent.

After some investigation, I was able to figure it out.

The wetlands where this guy is located are adjacent to a terrain called {Constellation}.

{Constellation} is a terrain that draws in the magic of the {Great Universe}. I acquired it a while ago and left it there for Yogur-Thoth to use as he saw fit.

However, the magical power released from this {Constellation} is used mostly by of the yogurts and syrups. When the yogurts fly through the air and their lifespan ends, they fall into the swamp and die, the swamp releases a large amount of magical power.

If they are exposed to a lot of that magical energy, they will gain the ability to grow huge, like some superhuman who was hit by radiation.

Even ordinary toads, having received enough magical power, grew huge as if it were the right time.

So, they are all the same toads, but depending on whether they were exposed to magic or not, they either become huge or just remain as toads.

This is a property called phenotypic plasticity. The physical characteristics of the same organism change as it adapts to different environments.

If the environment is rich in magic, the toads are surrounded by powerful predators.

He realizes this and becomes huge. Instead, his lifespan being 1/10th of his original size, but he gains a powerful weight class, as if he has obtained some kind of magical power.

"That's interesting. There is a biological mechanism for that?"

"It's incredibly common in plants. The same genes can be expressed completely differently depending on the environment. I didn't know if it would apply to the process of adapting to mystery, though."

If we apply this, wouldn't it be possible to create a more dramatic change?

Right now, it's simply a giant creature that responds to magic power. In short, if magic power is low, it's just a normal creature, but if magic power increases, it turns into a monster…

To be more specific, in my ecosystem, they are just ordinary creatures that only take a little bit of maintenance, but when you move to a world overflowing with magical powers, you can use magic to create monsters that can grow larger, shoot flames, blast energy waves, and teleport.

"I don't know whether I should be amazed or astonished by the idea. For now, I'll just say that strategically, it seems remarkably effective."
