Chapter 75 - Ch.75 World Collision – 8th – (7)

The birds that poured out through the dimensional passage flew straight into the city, tearing apart civilians and eating their flesh.

It was something they had originally expected, so why did they think it would never happen?

A trap within a trap. These were tactics that Wahwando had taught him to use when 'the opponent is definitely not an idiot.'

Anyway, this is an emergency. It's almost like a swarm of locusts, but it would be more accurate to say that it's a swarm of birds of prey that devours people.

The enemies that poured out like crazy, no matter how much they hid, ran away, and tried to avoid damage, showed their tenacity by accurately finding the locations of the soldiers and military buffaloes that had participated in the previous battle, tearing them apart and devouring their flesh.

"Damn it! I get it. It's pollen again! These guys are the ones who like pollen the other way around!"

Due to the nature of the smell, anyone who came into contact with the military was also affected by the smell and became a target.

If it were simply a powerful monster chasing them, he don't know how to deal with it, but when hundreds of monsters the size of a human head flew in from afar, pecked hundreds of times per second at people working in the fields, minced them into meat, and ate them before flying away again, civilians were so scared that they didn't dare go outside.

The city has long since lost its air superiority, as troops were sent out to recapture territories.

However, this does not mean that the outside has secured the ability to help. There are too many of them, and the few magic users simply cannot catch them.

The power to freely edit terrain is also meaningless. Because it tracks targets by 'scent', not 'location'. No matter how much you edit terrain, you can't overhaul cities, roads, or people.

Not all movements can be subject to teleportation. The military is not limited to barracks.

As the people move, they will have spread pollen everywhere, and especially when they come into contact with people, they will pass on the scent, so even though it is faint, the air will be filled with the scent for at least two years, and the road will also be filled with the scent.

"Please! Get me out of this city!"

"It's more of a hell outside!"

"Then what do you want me to do? Are you telling me we should all die here?"

Repeated chaos, neglected enemies, Dark Rim expanding its territory, and jellies eating cream and multiplying.

Then, almost all kinds of sweets and jellies of the Dessert Army react and mercilessly trampled on the opposing world.

In addition, the monsters that hunt the Sweet Tooths or think they can gain more by intelligently following them follow and destroy them.

"The devil bird has appeared!"

"Again?! It was quiet for a while!"

[Get on your knees!!!]

"The bubble demon continues to shoot magic from the dimensional passage!"

"Oh my God! What are we going to do now?! How are we going to deal with all this?!"

How does he know that?

Ogolaot knew no other way to deal with the situation than to delegate military operations to his subordinate gods.

They had no choice but to fight and kill the creatures that pushed in, believing that they are passing out good orders.

Ogolaot could only close his eyes tightly and pray that things would get better, that the army of these mad evil creatures would end, and that the opposing world's power would be completely depleted.

In a way, it was similar to a king who prayed for his generals to do well without going to the battlefield.

"Ahhhhh! I don't want to die!"

Haina, who had crossed over to the enemy world as an advance party, and his knights who had been fighting desperately, were annihilated by the army of monsters that literally filled their entire field of vision.

It was a gruesome end. Not a single bone was left, only a trail of blood. That trail of blood was also sucked up by the passing jellies along with the dirt.

As he lived, he was said to have 'smelled'. That was the only reason he died. He died buried in the jelly-like creature he so cursed and loathed.

After surviving in the dessert desert for five long years, he returned to his home world and was killed by the same dessert army.

It wasn't just Haina. The soldiers stationed outside were also caught off guard by the maddening onslaught of the Dessert Army.

The fleeing knights screamed, but his divine power was insufficient to save them.

The birds' flight speed was faster than buffaloes. The magic knight mounted on the buffalo fired fireballs backwards, but whether they were intended as a threat or as a genuine attack, the monsters ignored them and ran madly.

And then they started to peck at the knights with the buffalo, tore them apart, and ate them alive.

It was a disaster. But it had to be stopped. Most of the numerous buffalo were killed, as were the elite soldiers. But the evil remained in the conscripts. The mystics were trained.

They were growing stronger and stronger. The surviving buffalo were just enough to maintain a cavalry army.

So, in the second year of the apocalypse, Ogolaot and his race managed to hold off the endless dessert offensive of this dimensional passage.

"Hey. Are you going to stop this?"

It was a miracle, or perhaps inevitable. Still, they had amassed a vast reserve of resources. Top-tier civilizations possess the resilience to endure even in situations that seemed destined for destruction.

First, he discovered that the dessert armys were eating each other, so he grouped them up predators against other predators, and with the powers of Dolgoon, they detected the ominous movements of Yogur-Thoth early on, closed the space-time passage, and used large-scale magic to crush tens of thousands of jellies.

They took every measure to kill them, such as using terrain editing to force enemies into a good terrain to defeat them and then crushing them with the Bison Knights' charge.

Even the pollen that Vein had been constantly adding was finally removed through a mysterious method. By washing it with soap made from the jelly-like bodies and feces of the Dessert Army, the smell was masked.

Vein has certainly succeeded in his ] strategy of completely depleting the enemy ecosystem's capabilities by unleashing a flood of creatures onto it, but it is a bruteforce strategy, literally.

The strategies and tactics that Wahwando taught were very effective, but in the end, since the opponent was stuck, he had to push purely based on his weight class, and conversely, he was forced to be pushed back by the opponent who used wisdom.

"The real top tier is something different. So what are we going to do now?"

Using the power of Shuk-Rimuras to restore the devastated ecosystem, Vein consumed so much nectar that the lake was filled with liquid that felt more like water that tasted like nectar. Yogur-Thoth, who also ate a lot, complained of hunger.

The power of the Vine had dropped by about half compared to just before the collision. In comparison, Ogolaot's condition was truly spectacular.

The world, which had a high score of 1.8 million, has dropped to just a quarter. The details are even more concerning.

The population was reduced to almost one-tenth of what it was just before the collision. In short, even among those who survived, most of their family, relatives, and friends were killed.

is relatively high, but conversely, the military is too high compared to the population, so this is beyond the world's food production capacity. They are barely holding on by devouring the dessert army.

is nonsense. The food they are harvesting now won't even cover next year's military rations. The weeds have grown so much that their world has been completely trampled by invasive species, and there's no manpower to clear them away.

and survived because many mystics survived, but they only remained for military purposes.

I don't even want to mention and .

In terms of , they have drastically lost public support, making it seem like a lie that it had originally had over 300,000 points.

In addition, most of the epic and heroic entities were lost, so they have lost all the high-level talents created when their civilization was at its peak.

In fact, what's really amazing is that even though the world was almost completely devastated, objectively speaking, it was still a level 9 world, so compared to all other players, Ogolaot was at least mid-level.

The problem is Vein.

Vein is currently at around 890,000 points, and while he consumed a lot of resources, his world barely suffered any damage. That's understandable because Ogolaot's army kept being hit by the swarming monsters and couldn't expand into the enemy world.

The endless nectar springs and the nourishment emanating from the Creamlands were preparing the second wave of the dessert armys. And it was clear that Ogolaot would not be able to withstand the second wave.

He lost.

"Ogolaot...!"

The subordinate gods advised him. There was nothing he could do now. It was truly heartbreaking, but he had no choice. His chances of victory were nil.

Ogolaot said with a heavy heart.

"Ugh... I surrender."

He really hated to do it, but their compatibility was the worst. Would it have been different if he had been created a world with higher quality troops rather than having a large quantity based on territory?

He doesn't know. But then someone else in the Mythical Alliance would have been targeted. Of all the guys who had planned to invade, someone who coveted his abilities and was a good opponent chose him. That's why he lost.

That was the end of it. Ogolaot, berating himself for falling into this trap, submitted a surrender request.

Ogolaot submitted a request for again.

"What? The match is already over!"

He added just in case.

Application.

Apply for again.

!!!

「You have been blocked by player [Vein]」

"Ah…"

Ogolaot couldn't understand this turn of events. Why wouldn't he accept the surrender? There was absolutely no reason not to accept his surrender now.

For Ogolaot, his company was built on rational management. No matter how much they hated or loathed their opponents, they would accept their surrender. There was nothing to lose by accepting it.

No, isn't that right? If they don't accept surrender, how on earth can they govern the vastly expanding world?

With the opponents he defeated, he accepted quite a few subordinate gods.

If not, it's because the other person has suffered a disaster, if they refused to accept defeat or if they just really, really dislike the other person.

But Vein has just been beating them up unilaterally, so what's he so dissatisfied with? He doesn't understand the criteria by which he selected his subordinate gods…

"Uh huh?"

Ogolaot's vision gradually became narrowed.

When he visited the Vein's world last time, did he see any subordinate gods?

No. Of course, he had no reason to introduce the subordinate gods, so he must have sent them off to work elsewhere.

But strangely enough, it suddenly occurred to him that he hadn't seen a single lower god among the four of them: Vein, Seisaisa, Mihun, and Wahwando.

"Uh?"

Now that he thought about it, were the subordinate gods of the opposing world on the list before the clash?

He knew who his opponent would be anyway, so he didn't pay attention much attention to the announcement…

But now that he thought about it, I guess they weren't there.

(UNTRANSLATED)

Volume 3 Review

This is a review of Volume 3 (episodes 51-75). As always, you don't have to read it.

-Saddam-

Me: Editor! Could you please take a look at my writing?

Editor: ??? It's the weekend now, Author.

Myself: Ah...

This is the first time in four years that I've written a piece that's sold this well, and I've finally gotten around to calling my editor on the weekends.

I was a little excited about that. I was happy to see my grades improving every time I wrote.

Anyway, let me start the review.

-Questions & Answers-

Question 1. How do you position your units when there's a significant difference in terrain? Essentially, does Sky Island terrain cause an opponent to float in midair when colliding with them? Or does the opponent float in midair?

Answer: Collisions don't occur when the terrain difference is significant. Sky Islands are terrain in and of themselves, so unless they're mountainous terrain or another Sky Island, collisions won't occur at all. However, there are some "low-altitude Sky Islands" that can be accessed from the edge of a hill, or there are paths that allow access into the sky.

Question 2. I'm not sure about the game's victory conditions. The protagonist doesn't control his own world at the beginning, so how did he not lose?

Answer: The victory condition is when the opponent loses control of their own world and you completely dominate the opponent's world. In the early rounds, the protagonist dominated the ecosystem with their creations, albeit weakly, and the opponent was unable to remove this influence. Conversely, by starving the opponent to death, they became the dominant species in the opponent's world, becoming jellies, and thus won.

And the last step of the dimension gate-dimensional passage dimension crack dimension fusion stage. When dimensional fusion is performed, if the total score of the opponent's world is doubled, it is a victory, and the opponent's god is transformed into one of your own.

As of volume 3, the protagonist has never reached the dimensional fusion stage.

Question 3. Could you please draw the creatures? I can't quite get a feel for them just by looking at their descriptions.

A: Many people have requested this, but it's impossible for two main reasons. First, I'm truly terrible at drawing. Second, the final form of the Dessert Army hasn't been released yet, so if the image appears later, it'll be even more confusing. Still, I've listed the creatures in the original publication notice.

-Nyaltartep-

I wrote Tademoira with the feeling of a typical flower spirit, and Nyaltartep is probably an earth element in the original text. I created it with the main plan being to be a plant.

As revealed in the story, Nyaltartep wasn't just rationalizing himself out of madness. He truly convinced himself that plants and nature were greater than civilization. I'm not sure if it was a case of depravity.

-Sugar Lump-

Monkeys evolved to become intelligent in ways that humans don't. I'm not sure if this is "real" biologically possible.

But originally, in science fiction, it's not important for it to be true, but rather for a scientific explanation that makes sense to be true.

Clearly, they're highly intelligent, even capable of language and military maneuvers. They can't possibly form a civilization. Considering that dolphins in reality possess language, intelligence, and military strategy, it doesn't seem entirely unreasonable.

-Creature name-

Gummi Bear Reef: As described in the work, it is the combination of the Great Barrier Reef, Gray Barrier Peak, and the Gummy Bears. Incidentally, Gray Barrier Peak is where Abhos resides in the Cthulhu Mythos. That's all there is to know about this area, but after researching it, I was surprised to find such a similarity in names.

Shuk-Rimuras: Shukrim + Shub Niguras.

Nyaltartep: Tarth and Nyarlathotep. The three main gods of the Cthulhu Mythos.

It all came out.

Danggoe: A direct translation of sugar lump. And sugar lump actually means sugar cube. It's made by breaking it up into sugar and lump (fat). It's a similar name to Sweet Tooths, and it seems like the foreign dessert army will continue to come out with this kind of feeling in the future.

-Wahwando-

This is the fourth meteorite that was previously hinted at. The reason it's called So-Ra-Gae is simply because I like that creature. I made it to give it the feel of a typical militaristic dictator.

For me, the military is a place where historical figures and the absurdities of reality intertwine, and I only use characters from fantasy novels that embody those figures. That's why soldier characters are often portrayed as somewhat positive or charismatic.

-Oh my gosh-

This is the first mid-boss in this game. I thought the 8th opponent in 30 fights should be a really strong opponent.

In particular, I wanted to describe the character in a way that the player's application skills were good, rather than just an ignorant enemy with high specs, and so I tried applying the given abilities in various ways, but the side effect of making the abilities look like a scam appeared;; Still, I'm glad that the readers thought, 'Wow, such an application?'

I think people might say, 'How many episodes are you going to spend on the eighth opponent? How many episodes are you going to spend on the 18th opponent?' But still, since it's a mid-boss, it was necessary to dedicate a fairly long battle.

The battle with Ogolaot continues a little further into the next volume.

-ReviewReview-

All four meteors originally thought to exist have gathered together and are now on their way to destroy other worlds.

I really don't know how things will unfold from here on out, but I always want to show unexpected and exciting developments in my work.

Then, I'll see you in the review of Volume 4!
